      It's also made in both Telugu states. In Telangana it's known as Bakshalu, in Andhrapradesh - Bobbatlu

    No need of grinding. If u want to grind it u can grind it before putting it in the stove for the second time. In andhra we dont add turmuric.

      Abt haldi is their choic..In Andhra v dont ad. But its betr not to add salt in cooker coz it dont cook fast as she cooked for 5whistles but stil cooked soft.. If v cook for 4 whistles without salt it becomes almost lik paste n need of sieving also...

    This is completely different..no salt and no grinding in mixer and no sieving...even the flame must be low and tawa should not be hot and sides of the poli should not burn much...

      No, In Maharashtra we sieve it through a strainer, and as a Marathi Guy we don't grind in mixer, but we add salt beacause adding to salt to any sweeet is must....... It Enhances it's taste

    We don't add salt and turmeric. Also use only maida for dough. Just 4 measurement purpose for one cup of chana dal take same amount of jaggery.

    This recipe is auspicious and occasion is fire. This is more of a festival recipe and not an occasion recipe.
    Ritual recipes. Sugar or jaggery fillings. Rituals are feel good always. We choose rituals as a part of regular life like we do other things as routine.

    Don't grind and sieve the puran..let it be as it is after removing from stove..the coarse chana dal while eating puran poli tastes fab.....

      She probably seived it because while making dough she has added atta plus Maida...Atta doesn't have so much elasticity as compared to the normal Maida poli...though atta is a healthy version..in order prevent the breakage while rolling puran is seived...
