Abt haldi is their choic..In Andhra v dont ad. But its betr not to add salt in cooker coz it dont cook fast as she cooked for 5whistles but stil cooked soft.. If v cook for 4 whistles without salt it becomes almost lik paste n need of sieving also...
In Bihar and uttar pradesh we make daalpuri which is similar to this which gives yummy salty spicy taste

No need of grinding. If u want to grind it u can grind it before putting it in the stove for the second time. In andhra we dont add turmuric.
