    Good job, sir! Have you considered reversing the pulleys such that the larger pulley is on the blade and the smaller pulley is mounted on the motor shaft? The would reduce blade speed (ideal blade speed of 1000-1200 RPM--slower for larger diameters) and increase torque to possibly be able to use a cold cut blade instead of abrasive blade which has great benefits. I've checked into the evolution cold cut saw; but, it's to expensive for me. When I found your vid, I was actually looking for DIY cold cut saw ideas. Good day, sir!

    Man I have a huge metal cutting chopsaw, it's just been sitting out back , found it thrown out , didnt wanna throw it away . I have a 115 volt 1725 RPM AC electric motor also dont wanna throw out , runs great very quiet . Then I saw this . Combine them and now have use for both .. thanks

      Shit , the problem is , I hurt my back building houses my whole life about 11 years ago it went out and now hurts everyday . So my wife talked me into selling all my shit . Dont even have a dam screwgun , grinder , no welder , i just have the basic toolbox tools now .I'm screwed either way. Ain't been able to work since on the dealt chopsaw I pull button and nothin, like if theres a short or cut wire . My guess is the was cutting metal and pressing to hard to long and burnt it up...

    Nice rescue of the dead saw. As many have mentioned, the slower speed opens up other uses for it too. Plus later on you could probably and various size pulleys to open up other speeds for it and even more uses (like the 3 pulley system we used in my high school drill press machines, so we could pick the best speed for the drill size and material))

    If you change the pulleys to slow the speed down that will give it more toque and then you will be able to use a coldsaw blade and because the motor no longer is so close to the blade you will be able to run coolant with the blade just make a reservoir under the saw to catch the coolant and a small pump to cycle the coolant back up to the blade

    • @greasysteve5671
      @greasysteve5671 5 лет назад

    Great idea brilliant ..... it gives me the idea of connecting a three phase motor so I can control the speed or maybe an ordinary DC motor .... I am a true hacker hacker hacker ..... I would use a and grinder with a cut off blade and just saw the motor off and then connect a motor directly to the shaft…… And then find out that I really needed to use a belt based solution …… I am really lazy and this causes me too often do more work than I should have had to do

    Разговора нет., отлично придумано и выполнено. Единственно что лично мне, не совсем понравилось, это то что из мобильного инструмента делают, стационарный (это я про гриндер). По сути из мобильного, сделать стационарный не сложно, а вот наоборот, задача сложная. У переносного инструмента, наблюдается дифицит мощности и надёжности. Тогда как у стационарного, можно варьировать мощностью. И при выходе из строя одного узла, с лёгкостью можно заменить этот узел. (что кстати и продемонстрировал мастер) тут вес уже не важен, зато ремонтопригодность, выросла в разы.
