I go 14 sand or shovels one bag of S cement and two caps full of dish washing soap to a mix makes it a strong mix the soap takes the air out of the mix makes it easier to work and stick better great job guys 👍👍💯💯😎⚒🇺🇸
Henry R Bowers Ltd. The "Tatham Brick & Tile Works" or "Afongoch & Tatham Tileries" - at Afongoch, on the west side of the Ruabon-Wrexham road, off Tatham Road. Henry Bowers from 1854 producing glazed stoneware pipes, firebricks and bricks. The business flourished until his death in 1902 but then declined and was liquidated in 1912. The brickworks site was quarried away by Rhos Fireclays Ltd in the 1970s. The Bricks you skipped were probably worth a small fortune...😱
Hiya boys, nice to see a bit of sunshine 🌞😎. Lot of weight in that poor van 😢 bet it gave a sigh of relief when you unloaded it 😂. Wall looks a treat boys 👍👍. Hope you have a great weekend. Regards Tim
Top job. Was wondering why you were building a pillar with Queen closers, then LOL I remembered the original wall design. Will look good when you are done and prob last as long as the original. Look forward to next part.
There is lots of work in a garden wall when you build it as well as this, double thickness in engineering. Lots of the houses in the Liverpool area are built with solids. The houses i grew up in were good ole fancy shaped solids ☺
Looking good Steve n Al, gonna look bonny when finished. Soon get through those bricks on a 9 inch , All them headers ouch. English garden wall bond ? Had some weight in the old bus Steve, bet the steering was like a feather. Looking forward to the next.
Nice little job. Would have liked to have seen the finished work. Also, try to keep muck off of these bricks as they stain easy and engineering's without smudges looks much smarter
Oh mi bac 😬💪...Really enjoyed that boys! The existing footing bricks must have been made in Wales looking at that stamp. It’s a shame Barry’s can’t match B&Q prices on sand and cement ? but are you really saving that much having to drive ,queue, load ect? Isn’t there something nice and old fashioned with special bricks ? It really sets the wall off nicely 👍looking forward to the next ration stay safe 👍🧱🎥✅
Hi Michael thanks for watching . No but it’s same with all bricks . Scrape the big snots off them it’s diluted brick acid after the wall has been wet with a hose . A good scub with a stiff brush and the acid then a good rinse 🚿 🧱👍🏽
Very confusing them mixers we call them half bag mixers and then throw a full one in . youngsters have never had the pleasure of a real bag 100 weight bag 8 stone in old money one on each shoulder and one on your head .I don't live far from abethawe cement works sometimes they arrived warm ah that was the days of donkey jackets and awful boots . lovely job lads as usual
I fell over a few weeks ago banged my head had 14 staples so I've been a bit bewildered but I am watching . luckily I got down to 285 lb so I was easy to lift 😂😂😂😂😂
Ok can see on the pillars where the old wall was, although its quite low on the main wall I would put some long ties in each coarse .The other 2 brick pier between the 2 freestanding pillars definitely needs ties its about 3ft high and would steady it up considerably. Just don't slam the gate.😬

Yeah it turned out really nice 👌🏼🧱👍🏼
Looks like English, not English Garden Wall!
@@Dallco83 English bond is alternate headers and stretchers .
English garden wall bond is headers every 3 , 5 or 7 courses 🧱🧱🧱👍🏽
Well done guys - great effort 👌👍
Cheers Paul 🧱👍🏽
That’s going to be nice . Steve Why did you not set Alex to work building the 2nd pier along with the little corner that he did do.
Can’t remember but I should have done because I forgot the headers and had to knock it down 😩🧱👍🏽
Looking forward to it lads !
🧱👌🏼👍🏽
Is there footage of the completed job maybe I'm thinking a different design.
Yeah Friday 8.30 pm 🧱👍🏽

Thanks pal you too 🧱👍🏽
Coming along nicely 👍🏻 does it work out more expensive to get all the materials from Berrys seems a lot of running about to save a few quid. 🤷🏻♂️
Berrys were WAY cheaper for the bullnoses 🧱👍🏽

Yeah i Googled the bricks and I think they were worth a few bob 😩. Yes the specials look great. 👌🏼🧱👍🏼
Do you have any videos about how to clean mortar off dark grey/black engineering bricks ? The brickies were a bit slapdash unfortunately. Thank you.

@@martin2466 Ah the good old days 😳😆🧱👍🏽
Looks good but not tieing the old pillars in to the new not good if they're unstable more reason to tie it in no?
Definitely not , those stone pillars are very heavy and the wall is in,y small so if it’s tied in it will take the wall with it 👍🏼🧱
A question to ask the client which they prefer. That way if it fucks up its not your fault

Hi Guy`s, why has the wall encroached the neighbours garden?
Who ever built next doors wall built it that way 😬👍🏼🧱
Alex's knees are going to suffer in later life if he keeps working with no protection like that 😱
😬🧱👍🏽
Beautiful work guys, love seeing red or blue engineers being done. Have a awesome week guys hope the lock down doesn’t effect you all the best Tony 👍

there was more footage of knocking up muck then laying bricks, also how did the finished job turn out no footage, would have like to have seen it

Thanks pal RUclips are putting a lot on lately 😬🧱👍🏽
4 bags ov 25kg sand to 1 bag of 25kg cement?
Yep 👌🏼🧱👍🏼
Those bags of sand are only about 15kg each. So 4.5 bags is about 67kg. So a mix of about 2.5 to 1.
No they are over 20 kilos 🧱😬👍🏼
bricks are from ruabon nr wrexham

never do a strong mix if the bricks cant move they crack
