They need to lower the groups HP because it seems like they just steam roll everything they fight. I know they may have it this way just to show off the demos without losing but it just seems way to easy.
They may have jacked up the group’s stats just so that none of the characters die during the event so that they can show everything

Emerald was kinda meh...a bit to easy honestly. The mechanics were very easily expoitable back then, I was 14 when I played this game, and I never found a single boss fight hard, but hey, hopefully, it's actually challenging this time around.

Get Underwater materia on one person, and Final Attack+Phoenix on another, and Emerald is probably one of the easiest non-joke side bosses I've ever fought; Aire Tam Raid does little damage. Ruby, on the other hand...
@@Uberwulf See, I found Ruby very straight forward, Final Attack+Life2, and KotR+Mimic him over and over, he counters with Ultima but you just power through and he dies before you run out of Final Attacks. Emerald I found much more challenging, Aire Tam Storm always did 9999 to everyone for me and his little attacks hit your MP which can suck if your not paying attention. I guess Ultimately once you get the gimmick of each fight and prepare both are totally doable though.

The Sephiroth fight is going to be insane! I love how they're trying their best to achieve the flash and flair you'd see in Advent Children and Crisis Core.

How does this game even exist? It looks incredible.
Sheer power of fanboyism. FF7 remake is a game that can break or make companies due to the sheer strength of it's fanbase, and it's connection to a critically acclaimed tittle (the original FF7). It's why they'd always been hesitant about working on the game even as people went crazy from the PS3 teaser and Advent Children simply due to the risk involved. That must be especially true now with SE's subpar results recently and why the company has been working so hard to make sure every possible concern is addressed. You can also tell that the game is serving as a foundation of sorts for the company's new design paradigm (something FFXV attempted but failed to meet) and as such is serving to iron out all new features and technologies that will likely become commonplace in the following FF games. There is a lot riding on this game for SE, so they can't afford to fuck it up.

I'm so glad that they have an automatic movement mode. My mother has MS and lost almost all feeling in her hands and turn based games are largely all she can play. I grew up watching her play ff3 and ff7.
Yeah it's awesome the devs are trying to cater to everyone while at the same time not stepping on toes. And I'm happy your mother will get to play too!

I am very impressed with the Summoning mechanic in Final Fantasy VII Remake.
The more I look at it, Final Fantasy XV seems like it was a beta test game for Final Fantasy VII Remake.
Completely agree. The summons looked awesome and felt insanely powerful in FFXV but with only being able to use them in specific scenarios, it was sad we hardly saw them. I cannot wait to see all of the summons and actually use them in the VII Remake.

Square took some hard looks at all the things they did over the last decade, and they’ve learned their lesson in a SPECTACULAR fashion.
Final Fantasy 7 will always be Square’s crowning jewel.
I don't think so, remember that FF7 will have multiple parts so if you have to pay 60$ for part 1 then 2 then 3 that's 180$.......... Some summons are pre-orders exclusive and more stuff could really turn this FF7 remake into a mess.

Holy shit the attention to detail in this game is just top notch they put some much work and care into this game omg I cant fucking wait! Loved that when Aps caught on fire he jumped into the water to douse the flames.
also the camera work is crazy! You see everything in such cool angles it's amazing I love every seconds of it!

The level of attention to detail is amazing.
When Aps used Tidal Wave it actually pours out from a nearby storm drain instead of just magically appearing out of thin air.
Also when Ifrit set him on fire he jumped into the water to put it out.
Blu_Haze I agree that the attention to detail was great there. However if you noticed Cloud just had to step away from the drain and it didn’t seem to touch him.

Ever since the teaser trailer right before E3 2019 I've been in a constant cycle with this game. It goes:

unforunately this is what happened to KH3, but this looks better both in gameplay and in graphics so here is hope xd.
aspreedacore I can’t say I ever felt this way about KH3, and I’m a pretty big KH fan. It felt like it was destined to fail/be mediocre from the beginning.
Right? I preordered the deluxe edition and started asking myself if I did the right thing. I think with this I will no longer doubt ff7 remake. It is truly being made from fans who love thw game as much as you me and max.

@@aspreedacore sorry my comment was towards forte. I wasn't excited for KH3. I had a feeling it would lack. Its hard to come at a story so many years later. FF7 already had a story with multiple arches basically adding to the original.

This game looks amazing, I don't understand why people bitch so much about the battle system or the fact that the Midgar portion is gonna be it's own game. I beat and loved the original too and I'm still hyped for this game.

It's "why is the game episodic?"(it's really not), "why is it an action RPG and FFXV reskin"(despite including ATB gauge and Classic style), and "omg they're adding new things to the story and stretching out the Midgar portion to be one game". I see alot of this on message boards and stuff.

They are threatened by SE's release of this game. Because they know if FF VIIRe is released in the market, the volume of their games will go down instantly and so as their stocks.

Me thinks it's about time you gave Final Fantasy a go. ;) Honestly, you could give FFXV a go, too. For all the shit it gets, and for as badly as Sqeenix handled wrapping it up, it's actually good game now that all the DLC is out, and Squeenix seem to have realized how flawed the day 1 version was, considering the Royal Edition comes with a season pass.
The amazing thing about this is that now you have 3 ways to play this? Action/Hybrid/full classic?

The problem is Classic is just the game doing the basic actions automatically. That doesn't make it a turn-based mode. The game is still an Action game no matter what.
@RaiZo I can barely even call it an "option." It's just the AI taking over the basic actions of 3 characters as opposed to 2. I'm not interested in the remake because it's not turn-based, and the episodic nature they're going for. Those are deal breakers for me. If I wanna play an Action RPG, I'd rather play the thousands that are being pumped out every second.
I'm so excited for classic turn based. Its still very popular and I have to wonder if the success of Octopath traveler influenced them to put this in.
I hope it sells through the roof, lets blow it up!
@@Auster9376 It still seems based on the ATB gauge like the original. Seems balance is changed with auto-attack and block and other things when classic is enabled...
Looks like it will let you control your other party members more frequently in classic mode too. Seems fine to me.

RUBY DA CHERRY but its got a lot more content than the original making it a full game. we get a full game exploring Midgar a lot more and setting up the world. and then the next game will be open world ON NEXT GEN. which will look insane
@RUBY DA CHERRY I'm pretty sure the current Console generation couldn't deal with this level of detail and graphics in an open world setting. Good to know there won't be compromises needed, thx to the 2nd part being most likely on the PS 5.
@RUBY DA CHERRY Mutilated? This game covers the whole Midgar arc which is actually big by itself. Once you get out of Midgar, the game alsmost changes completely. So it makes sense to have it on separate parts. We're talking about hundreds of gigs worth of content here

Just in case anyone was wondering what the names of some of the attacks were... Tifa's attack at 12:59 where she blinks around the enemy is actually just the updated Beat Rush (掌打ラッシュ). From there, she jumps up into the air and kicks Aps using another move (かかと落とし) which can be translated as Dropping Heel Kick. The move Cloud uses at 13:37 where he spins around a lot is called Infinite End (インフィニットエンド).
Even now you can't help but smile at how excited Max gets, what a game.
The music gets me everytime. Amazing. Please look how Tifa is causally jumping on her feet and toes at 12:58 and then gets started.

Classic mode definitively sold me on this game. I can play it like it's the original AND have all these delicious modern visuals. Everything in this remake looks so god damn good minus the frame rate, but that's what the pc version will be for. I am beyond hyped right now.

It's amazing how that symphony orchestra just popped out of nowhere and started playing during that boss fight! It sounded so amazing and crisp! I also noticed something cool.....dude, Aps got lit on fire and jumped into the water to out the fire out, lol fucking awesome!

So the way the Summoning work is that in the case of Ifrit at least, The Sumlmon is on the field and stays there and fight, he auto-attacks, move around, charge etc.
And the Summoner as a special command menu, where he orders the Summon to use an ability.
Now there's also a timer on the right middle of the screen, the Summon fights for as long that the timer runs.
Once the Timer is over, the Summon delivers his Final Attack, the Attack that you saw in the original game.
In the case of Ifrit, Divine Comedy, where he Nukes everything with a Dive bomb of Hellfire, before dissapearing.
Its just amazing!, i love this!, it ùakes the Summons feels like actual characters ( and not in the FF13 way...)
So summons are like 10/12/13 ffs only your whole team doesn't disappear when you summon... Finally!
People....can y'all imagine if EVERY boss fight in this game maintained this level of EPIC?!?

When you finished the battle in a clinch, I like to see some animation with a sight of relieve from the characters like HOLY SHIT, we beat the boss. That would be awesome.
When release trailer hits, Max's body will have hit the speed force.
This game is winning game of the year every year a part is released, easy.

@James Gravil TLOU 2 and Cyberpunk 2077 will never get as near as FF VII Re for GOTY. You know why? FF VII was the forerunners who legitimately changed the whole RPG genre as it was now. And as for today... It is taking back its crown again as the best video game ever for this era like it did the last time.
@James Gravil well, I agree with you with that the original can't be beat by its own remake. The original will still always be my #1 RPG. And I know, you know, and all of the OG FF VII fans know it. But one thing that will smite the whole video game RPG world is that the true king of RPG is gonna take back its throne again in this new era.

I've got an ideia that I tried and it worked!!! I have used the Google Lens app on my phone and pointing to you're video in that specific part and I got an automatic translation!! =D
And it says this:
"The summoned beast will participate in the battle until the SUMMON gauge reaches zero.
Summoned beasts fight at their own will, but they can also activate abilities by consuming the ATB gauge.
The summoned beast will return when the Super Special Move is activated."
You can give it a try to see by yourself. ^^

the auto movement of the characters are based on the AI remembering your earlier movements
It's interesting to see how square seems to have put some aspects of all the different combat mechanics they tried over the years - which on their own felt lackluster - together, and all of the sudden it clicks and looks like the best combat system I've ever seen.
I became quiet over the years, scared what the remake will look like, especially after they gone silent for so long. Boy this looks better than anything I could have come up with. They one upped me on everything. How is this even possible?

You may have missed that when you use an ability or a limit you can target a part of the monster (when Tifa does her limit, she's targetting the left horn, which is why its broken at the end)

Okay, so I was just kind of looking forward to this before, but now I'm super freaking hyped.
I had no job when Max streamed this game so I always watched his livestreams of FF VII remake from start to end. I wouldn't have watched it from any other player. His love for the game reflects my feels. His reactions are also like my brother's so it was hella fun to see him play it.
Im seeing a LOT of inspiration from both the Kingdom Hearts series, as well as the Crisis Core movement. Hell, that little delay on Cloud's dodges is identical to the delay (and movement) of Zack's dodgerolls in Crisis Core.
Thats a good thing, because Crisis Core was fan fucking tastic.

I don't follow his streams, but the way he pronounced a lot of the names in the past (Such as Sakura) shows that he clearly didn't not learn hiragana, I'd be surprised if people actually think he knows Japanese.

I can't wait to see the how Vincent, Yuffie and Cid move around and fight. The uniqueness for each character's choreography so far makes battles oh so much better.
I'm really happy with how they handled the summons, I was really really afraid will just be a cinematic and that's it (like in the original), I love how the summons stay around and fight as members of your party even if you can't control them directly.
This makes them feel like they are really unique and different from your other types of magic (they aren't just a more fancy fireball), I'm super hyped to see how the Knights of the Round (in the future parts of the game) will summon all 13 Knights who will all fight with you, that would be fucking epic behind imagination.

The only trouble with Tifa being SO amazing is she is always gonna be in your party- and since cloud is a given, and aerith is just about always needed for heals - (until part 3 anyways) - when are we ever gonna have room for any OTHER character? I like Barret and redx etc but they wont get a look in lol!
(except times when the team is split up and you dont have the full roster available)

A lot of the guesses you made in the video - I kind of which they followed up on, yellow materia, or something, like the weapons skill trees improving characters abilities would have been really cool, allowing for more variation in builds, and more ATB gauge potential, beyond just the refocus materia, would have been nice as well.
I think max missed that combo attack from tifa and cloud in the apps fight

I love how Kitase and the moderator are just grinning ear to ear every time the camera shows them! They are just as excited as we are!!! So hyped for this game!!!
