@TheRealLoganYT you must be very young. nostalgia, as google defines it, is a sentimental longing or wistful affection for the past, typically for a period or place with happy personal associations. If you aren't very old then you may have yet to experience it.

I swear if your parents didn't usually play video games...THIS was the game they all WOULD play. I remember only two video games my Dad ever played. The Legend of Zelda on NES, and this game on Game Boy. I recall hearing this music playing from our living room a number of times when I was a kid. Even years later, when I decided to download Tetris on my 3DS, he recognized the music and was all "You playing Tetris?" That was his game... Miss you, Dad.
Whenever I hear this song I can't help but think of this funny thing that happened to me when I was 6. My older sister just moved out and my Dad found a box of her old Gameboy games. One of them was Donkey Kong which I've always wanted to play. I was so excited that I had new games to play that I yelled for my Mom so I could show them to her. She came to my room and I showed them to her glimmering with joy. That's when she saw my Tetris game. She took my Gameboy advance, sat down (in my doorway) and proceeded to play Tetris until I only had 15 minutes to play before my bed time. I was irritated back then but looking back I smile at how hilarious that was.
Ah the nostalgia. As a kid playing this on my gameboy and starting to panic not cause the blocks got faster but because the red power light was starting to fade.
the loss of so many batteries. My neighborhood friend had a game gear, and that was way worse. Took 6 batteries to work and would eat those things in like 5 hours. But it was the best we had.
Fun fact: In the original Game Boy release of Tetris, the A-type music was a song called Minuet. However, it was replaced by a Russian folk song called Korobeiniki in version 1.1, and it stuck.

So I was playing on my gameboy outside of the doctor's office, and all of a sudden there was a loud POP. I had taken my gameboy apart before and was wondering if I had messed something up, but then I opened up the battery compartment and realized it was just an old battery that exploded. I cleaned it up and it's fine now.
Reminds me of when I filled an empty water bottle full of soda when traveling, and then upon twisting the cap in a gas station a loud pop came out as it ricocheted
The first time I played this game on an airplane I put my headphones in and was AMAZED at the high quality stereo sound. The music for this game is surprisingly layered and on point.
I think of this music when I put groceries in the cart after checkout. Like that episode of the Simpsons when they got a bunch of stuff at a yard sale and had to fit it all in the family station wagon.
I've always felt like classical music with chiptunes is a largely untapped genre that has a lot of potential, basically like this traditional style classical music with the only difference being played with Game Boy or Atari 2600 sounds (either entirely or incorporated into the orchestra). A lot of classic Game Boy music like from the Tetris soundtrack has inspired me as a musician over the years.
Music A has a very haunting and foreboding feel to it, which is what makes it so memorable. Music B is more upbeat and fun, and Music C sounds really cool when it’s played on an organ.
One not very well known fact, there are two songs that were used for "Game Boy Tetris Music A". The one in this video is the second one used, the first song was only used in the first 25,000 copies released in Japan and is called "Minuet" (it's probably based on some song, like the second one is based on Korobeiniki).
I play the NES version on my NES Classic, but I guess nostalgia won't let me enjoy it as much as the Gameboy version since it's what I grew up with. I don't even enjoy the NES version music as much because it seems slower compared to this. It'd be awesome to find that thing to see if it even works anymore just to enjoy the elementary youth again.
I first played age 11 in 1989 the year it was released - This music always stood out the most of the other 2 tunes on the Gameboy - LOL and Loved when The Simpsons pulled this tune in a small scene in of their episodes when Homer tried to get everybody in their car Good Times :D

Nostalgia time. I remember playing Tetris on the Game Boy, and every time I would pause and unpause the game, the bass track would jump in volume for a few seconds before going back to normal. I thought it was awesome, but was I the only one this happened to?
It's because it has a sound in one of the audio channels when you pause/unpause and it's the same one that plays the melody. It can't play both simultaneously and the pause sound has the priority
