I've been sick, too. Summer colds suck! My daughter starts kindercamp this week! I can't believe it! She hasn't even turned 4 yet, her birthday is next month. It's a half day program 3x a week for a month. I think she'll love it. She's really only been around her brother, and he's nonspeaking. I know they love each other, but I also know it's been hard for her. She loves to socialize, and I think she'll have a blast. Hope you feel better soon! Have a great week, Claire and friends! 💞

I hope you feel better soon Claire! I just recently got a new therapist who specializes in asd and she believes I'm autistic. After a year of intensive research and looking back at my life, I can agree so hard and it's so nice to finally have an answer to everything. I'm only 23, but it's felt so bittersweet and wonderful. My fiance and I broke up and my grandpa died (not this past week but like...two months ago) so that's been crazy. I'm making a lot of art about it and going to parks to watch birds. I find your videos very comforting and am happy to know someone like you exists. Thank you for all that you do and for all that you are :)

Unexpected events are a good thing, helps to keep life from getting stale. That is one way i slightly differ from most autistic ones, breaking the pattern is only slightly annoying and i found that the switch in the pattern was actually fun to try and 'conquer', i love a good challenge. Hope you are able to squash that virus like you think you will, being sick is a bit of a drag at the best of cases.

This week was a doozy. Nothing too interesting. I have been watching a lot of autistic creators (including you!) and it's given me a new perspective. I was diagnosed when I was 7, and there is a lot of recent research and nuances that have been helpful to learn about. Despite having it, there are many aspects that make a lot more sense when presented as a behavior of ASD vs. something about me.

:( hope you feel better soon. (it's ok to be ill & whinge about. Being ill sucks. You're not taking anything away from anyone else who might be iller. Your health matters too.)
Last wk was better for me. Pain wasn't limiting what I did much. Did more stuff. Was more energetic at gym class. There was a local Dr Who exhibit opened on Sat so went to that with my mate. It was good. There were (full size people inside) Daleks so had a chat with them. Did the charity shops after. Had a briefish conversation with some random young lady who just started talking to me in said shops. No anxiety or inability to speak, which surprised me. I even managed to keep it going. wtf. Went out to a local music gig with same friend in the evening (not done that in 30+ yrs) meeting up with a longtime old friend of his and managed to have some conversation with her on my own. wtf x10. A very busy Saturday. Jeez this reads like my old Diary I kept in the '80s.
Had scan on Thursday. went OK but had some anxiety / flashback when they were putting in the cannula. That wasn't good then nor does it bode that good for later. Def picked up some fresh Trauma :( Have an appointment this PM to discuss results & what to do next. Not looking forward to that either. Hope it goes better previously (ie. they listen to me properly).
P.S. Bought more Daleks on ebay...

Hope you feel better soon ❤ it was my birthday this week and I had a great weekend with my wife and a friend came to stay. Good company and lots of laughs. Also a trip to my local conservation park seeing my favourite slender loris. They're amazing creatures and sadly taken from the wild for illegal pet trade. They do this thing as pets where they have their long arms above their head and folk think it's cute and that they're really relaxed but it's the OPPOSITE. it's their natural stress response, like playing dead 😢. I can really relate to that 😂 Being misunderstood that way when you're mirroring hard and people read your responses as having a good time but survival instinct has kicked in and really you cannot wait to just be home and in your PJs. I don't mean to belittle the poor Lorises. Them being endangered is no joke. Also no deliberate shade to anyone who has one as a pet and did not realise. But please, anyone considering getting one, please don't.
Sorry if that ended up in a rant. Love to all xx

@@katzenbekloppt_mf My buddy, Chance, is just 3 years old. He was diagnosed with an injection site sarcoma in his rear left leg in October, and he had a lumpectomy in November. The sarcoma recurred in January and had spread up to his pelvis. I have been feeding him an experimental anti-cancer supplementation regime which significantly suppressed tumor growth for a while. His appetite, however, has been so reduced that he has gotten very thin and even stopped eating entirely a few times; each time he stopped eating and taking his medicine, the main tumor had explosive growth. He has seen two surgical oncologists and 3 or 4 vets, and the recommended course of action is palliative care/euthanasia since I cannot afford the extensive surgical procedures that are likely to fail. He is quite uncomfortable at times but still clearly wants to live and explore and snuggle.

I believe there was an attempt to prevent misinformation, and so the word got flagged and censored for a bit. I believe it has been lifted, but many creators are still cautious.

I hope you feel better soon! I’m trying to get a job as a custodian, it will be a new line of work but I’m hoping it will be much less stressful than jobs and situations I’ve had in the past.

Feel better, Claire! I got it really bad back in 2020. Was bedridden for nearly a month. It really sucks.

Claire... please, please be diligent about resting. I'm a nurse and now have the long (and what appears to be permanent) version - it was my 4th infection last August that put me where I am now (got it from work - and of course now I'm unemployed and would be homeless with my sons if it wasn’t for my parents taking us in) -- though the reinfection I had last January complicated things as well. I see specialists at the research hospital (OHSU) as part of their ongoing special research clinic... but there aren't many providers, and there are more and more patients -- so appointments are few and far between. I've been told that there is a disproportionately high amount of autistics in my situation compared to neurotypicals - but they don't know why... and there's no actual studies in that direction... the focus is just trying to figure out all the things that can go wrong in general. I am still unable to drive safely due to ongoing dizziness and severe brainfog - along with the slow reaction times that normally come with severe fatigue... it often feels like I'm not quite inside my body. The nerve pain is managed by a little gabapentin.... I'm on an experimental regimen of low dose naltrexone which has somehow made my legs feel mostly like legs again instead of bags of water (heavy and unstable)... but I have little actual endurance - and if I overdo things (physically or mentally) I pay for it in pain and debilitation. The clinic stresses pacing as the way to manage and reach a higher level of functioning -- but I have terrible interoception as an autistic. You’re supposed to stop and rest before doing too much -- but I can't tell when I'm getting close to overdoing things... I don't get info like that from my body -- I can't even tell when I'm hungry... not that my digestion works properly anyway. All I know is when I'm suddenly in a blood pressure crash and can't keep my eyes open. I'm being seen by a neuro-opthamologist who found that my brain is behaving like someone who has had a major concussion -- only instead of being injured by a physical trauma, it was injured by the virus. It can no longer process information from my eyes properly (hence the dizziness) and is unable to get them to converge properly - so I ❤am in vision therapy to try to help my brain recover. All that to say -- please rest and don't push yourself too soon. The best chance of normal recovery is taking it seriously during the initial infectiom period. The gamble with the long version goes up with each added infection - so limiting the amount of times you get it is important, and if you have any ongoing symptoms after 4 weeks - or odd symtpoms begin in the months after - get in to a doc. Here's the link to the most recent study that was released on the 5th of June - the pdf is free and you can read it by chapter, or just skip down and read the conclusion: nap.nationalacademies.org/catalog/27756/long-term-health-effects-of-covid-19-disability-and-function
While the info isn't necessarily getting out to the public, we are learning more and more about what this virus actually does inside people... it's fascinating and of course upsetting. But the more we know, the better we can treat it. I just wish people understood that at this point, dying isn't the biggest danger -- and most people with the long version only had a "mild" infection. Please take resting during the 10 days you can spread it seriously... that's your best bet for getting back to normal and not ending up like me. ❤❤❤❤

I had a rough weekend. My 5 year old daughter plucked all the new buds off my African Violet. She was playing and making "soup". Her daddy was supposed to be watching her while I walked the dog. I was really really upset (meltdown). It probably shouldn't have been a big deal but it was to me. I am proud that I didn't get angry with her. I told her I was sad and upset but not mad at her. She was upset that I was upset, but we hugged, and later she insisted and coming to the store with me to pick out a new flower (so now I have a pink azalea to plant!) I was less generous with my husband because I felt he should have been paying more attention to what she was doing. 😢 Anyway, I hate it when things go wrong and I hate being angry with my husband. I'm not sure what the right thing to do is. 😢

As a fellow mom, gardener and dog lover I totally feel this 💚. You've waited a full year for these flowers! Kids still have to learn but parents should have each others back. That beeing said, could've happend to my husband too 🤷

@nessidoe8080 yes, I could have happened to me, honestly. Any time the kids are playing nicely or quietly and not indoors we give them free reign pretty much. So i likely wouldnt have noticed what she aas doing either. I had set the violet on our outdoor table in the sun because I i had about six buds about to open. Sigh.

Hope you're feeling better soon. My gardens are looking good. The Ellen Willmott sweet peas are getting planted out today. I read two books on her in the last three weeks. She was an amazing plantswoman and contemporary of Gertrude Jeckyll. Such fun! Just a mini info dump for ya!

I took the AQ test and got a score of 32. Just enough to make me doubt it when I just think about it "on paper." But when I think about some of my behaviors in childhood up to now, I pretty confident that I can honestly identify as on the autism spectrum.
Your hair looks like sunlight in honey. It's pretty.

❤ hey Claire, i wish for a speedy recovery for u. I have had a difficult week. I was feeling very down so i reached out to get help for my depression and was given an antidepressant. But the first night i took one before bed i passed out twice in the middle of the night. The first time i smacked my head on the floor and that woke my husband so the second time he caught me and i went by ambulance to hospital. They said I'm fine basically. I'm not going back on that drug, i will try a different one
