What can you say about the greatness known as "Laurel & Hardy" that hasn't been said to date. Jitterbugs is one of their better efforts after the Roach produced pictures. The greatest team in the history of motion pictures!

JITTERBUGS SURE WAS A LOT FUN TO WATCH.....A TIME OF INNOCENCE AND SHEER HILARITY...

I agree, it sure was fun to watch. But may I be so bold as to remind you that there wasn't much innocence in 1943!

The first L & H's I saw as a kid were the post Roach ones like Big Noise and Bullfighters. Being able to get the older ones on VHS after that allowed me see their earlier, very popular, work. While these later ones are funny their early ones were what they became really famous for and are their best, funniest work. Music Box, Way out West, Big Business, Chickens Come Home, Blotto, One Good Turn, and so on.

8:55. Their car is a Model A Ford. The fuel tanks on those were in front of the firewall and gravity feed to carb. I think that gas tank filler on the back fender is a prop.

I thoroughly enjoyed this film, but I feel that Stan Laurel and Oliver Hardy are supporting players to the main cast members in this film. Jitterbugs was trying to move Laurel and Hardy with the times, by mentioning Glenn Miller, Harry James and Spike Jones. Even the opening jazzy tune that is played during the opening titles sounds very much 1940s, as Benny Goodman was topping the music charts in the early 1940s.

11:58 That Stan Laurel was quite a drummer! Why didn't they sustain their mechanical band throughout the rest of picture?

Obviously not up to the quality of their Hal Roach era, but most fans seem to agree that it's one of the "least bad" of their Fox/MGM era films.
