This guy is doing all this stuff WHILE wiring up customer cars in record time WHILE making videos and running an online business! I need those time management skills in my life!
by definition of the hobby we are all idiots, that's what makes us the best people to be around. Can't wait to see the finished product, I know it's going to be absolutely show car stunning and stupid fast!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't wait to keep watching the progress!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Regardless of what it ends up running, I can't imagine there being a faster convertible anywhere in the world. At 2950lbs I would think your goal of 3.99 is attainable. 5.99? Going that fast to the quarter takes a ton of power. It'll be interesting to see how close you can get, but I'm guessing you'll need more boost than the current setup can make? But hey, I've never been quicker than high 4's, so I'm just thinking from math, not from experience. You're going places I've never been and will likely never go. Freaking car is gonna be awesome regardless.
"I'm not a chassis guy" and then proceeds to perfectly explain chassis separation, IC, etc Are you crazy for doing this, yes. Is it a great idea, also yes. Can't wait to see the transformation of this car!
Congrats on the win !!! We are all a bit crazy but that’s ok … Excited to see the progress videos , always pumped when I see you post a video cuz I know I’m prob about to learn something ! Keep up the killer work 💪🏻 (567 on media blasted weight )
You could even move the seat back since you’re cutting all of it out and going traditional 4 link. I really like the way Cameron Johnson does his cages. The driver sits behind the main hoop not in front of it. Seems like it helps out weight over the rear with the seat being back.
Congratulations. Can't say I m surprised you won. I get the impression you don't do anything without a lot of thought so I can only imagine were your car is headed.
I respect the grind ! The baddest Mustang on the planet with a drop top since racing jason ...to tear it down and rebuild it from the ground up i applause you and your crew .can't wait to see how fast it goes now !
Love watching you do what you do. I totally get what you’re doing. Just surprised you didn’t wait tell the season was over. But that’s when every one is out of control busy. So can’t wait to watch this come to together. ❤
I was really hoping to see you out at sick summer again with your car. I’m sure it will be amazing when you are done with it, but we will miss you at sick summer!
After media blast, 554 lbs. You are most certainly not an idiot, you are a racer. We do what we have to do to get where we want to be. Congrats on the Wally!! I guess I won't be seeing you at Sick Summer.
Down the rabbit hole we go! Looking forward to the progression on this bad boy. You going storm trooper again or we going to spice things up with a little hot pink or maybe a Chartreuse with purple accents? 🤔
What about coupe conversion?who ever done that cage took a lot of pride just by the way they did the bar layout and tube bending are absolutely beautiful
578 lbs. Definitely idiot until i watched the whole video and heard the plans, now I think you are just crazy.... Witthe back half you'll be in Modified or Unlimited from here out which is basically what you ran anyway. I like it dude, can't wait to see it out! Drag Week??????
Hoping to be done for drag week Definitely have no intentions of trying for a 5 second anything anytime soon, it’s gonna take some time to work some bugs out I’m sure
I’m sure you’ve heard it before, but those of us the build these things are rarely ever satisfied. I had barely finished my car and washed it before I did exactly what you’re doing. Because I knew where the warts and problems were below the surface and that I wouldn’t be satisfied until they were taken care of. Problem is, NOW I don’t have a car to race and these projects take a lot of time. Yours might not take as long as mine, since you know the right people and can afford to have some of the work done. I do it all myself. Anyway, looking forward to watching the journey. My guess is 550#s. What the heck have you done…!!! LOL
I love everything you said you're doing to the car you are going to lose over two hundred pounds off the car easily and I bet it will be closer to two fifty then two hundred! The car is going to go fast fast!
It'll be good to get some of those layers of paint off of the car and go through/simplify as much as possible. It's always been an incredible car, but it seems like you've possibly found the limit of triangulated 4 link, and a parallel setup should give you more capability. I do wonder though, would a coyote engine save some weight up front???
@@theholleyefiguy I hear you on that. Just thought I'd pick on you a little bit for having that Chevy motor up front, but big blocks definitely rule and yours is a very nice example of one. I think you're right about getting some extra bars out of there and going with the parallel 4 link. I can't wait to see the 'vert back together. You keep it clean for sure and I'm looking forward to seeing some quicker time slips out of that awesome street car.
Facebook fact checkers said you’re not an idiot. I dont know what that means. Do you believe the fact checkers? 🤔 Good luck with the build again. Definitely going to be cool to see the progress
We are all idiots for spending the money we do on these cars but that’s what we do and enjoy. I’ll enjoy the videos on the rebuild
Hell you can't take it with you. If I have a dollar in my checking account on the day I die I miscalculated somewhere lmao
This is gonna be a fun series to follow. Not an idiot Devin.
This guy is doing all this stuff WHILE wiring up customer cars in record time WHILE making videos and running an online business! I need those time management skills in my life!
I have no time management skills. I just barely sleep, and am obsessive compulsive. It equates to a terrible life lol
You have been very busy. Can’t wait to see the progress and the process. Thanks for documenting this.

Please keep the updates flowing, so many of these end up 6 months from now "and here is the finished car".

Devin .......Well , My HEAD JUST EXPLODED 🤯💥!!!!!! Always a treat to see your next move!!!
I thought your car looked pretty flawless as it was. It should be exciting to see the finished product
change is good although it was a perfect running hot rod. can't wait to watch the build
Check out TRZ Motorsports Billet FoxBody Spindles!
Got struts with spindle mounts already built in. A lot lighter
@@theholleyefiguy aaaaahhhhh ProMod stufff…….. #mustbenice
Lol
Badass can't wait to watch every second!
"I'm not a chassis guy" and then proceeds to perfectly explain chassis separation, IC, etc

We’re leaving the main hoop where it’s at
I might be able to convince Matt to move the seat back a few inches though lol
The guy that drove the convertible did a good job driving it. And u im sure do a good job keeping it going
I am really looking forward to seeing this rebuilt! Thanks for sharing!
Congratulations. Can't say I m surprised you won. I get the impression you don't do anything without a lot of thought so I can only imagine were your car is headed.
Definitely not an idiot, you have goalsand changeshavetohappen to meet them. I'd guess 558 lbs. Looking forward to seeing the rebuild process
Devin makes fun times and is evolving

I probably would have just built another chassis but I don’t blame you one bit for continuing to progress and go faster
I was really hoping to see you out at sick summer again with your car. I’m sure it will be amazing when you are done with it, but we will miss you at sick summer!
just when i thought the worlds most over complicated fox could get any cooler, you go and do this! lol
After media blast, 554 lbs. You are most certainly not an idiot, you are a racer. We do what we have to do to get where we want to be. Congrats on the Wally!! I guess I won't be seeing you at Sick Summer.
I'm interested to learn more about the metal coating you bought to put on the bare metal. I'm guessing 42lb of paint removed after blasting.
Your very far from an idiot buddy I love learning from your channel. You only live once who cares what anyone thinks anyway lol.
Congrats for the Win.
You are a bit mad. 👍👍👌👌
Greatly explained and planned. Looking forward to the progress
Down the rabbit hole we go! Looking forward to the progression on this bad boy. You going storm trooper again or we going to spice things up with a little hot pink or maybe a Chartreuse with purple accents? 🤔
Everything I own is white, always has been. I think if it was ever a different color I would hate the car lol
NOT AN IDIOT! PROGRESSION is GOOD! If you stand still, the busy ones will pass YOU!
This is what Winners do! They don't wait for everyone else to catch up. Right Ron?
🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲
We used to weigh jets before and after paint... primer/base/clear 75-105lbs depending on color. Thats on a Hondajet for reference.
Dude, that was a good guess on how fast my uncle went
Cool! 551 lbs. It will be neat to see the progress.
If your not consistently trying to get faster you gone get left behind good luck
547.75lbs
You are not an idiot. Get after it!
Appreciate you posting results.
What about coupe conversion?who ever done that cage took a lot of pride just by the way they did the bar layout and tube bending are absolutely beautiful
Congrats on the Wally!
Tear down a perfectly good racecar to pick up .06 in the 60'- heck 👍. Will be following along.
Adding double frame rails with the new 4-link? Look forward to the progress.
Dam 4 days stripped. Crazy. Can’t wait for more progress videos.
578 lbs. Definitely idiot until i watched the whole video and heard the plans, now I think you are just crazy.... Witthe back half you'll be in Modified or Unlimited from here out which is basically what you ran anyway. I like it dude, can't wait to see it out! Drag Week??????
577lbs
Keep pushing that envelope. Great stuff
Man this is awesome. Best of luck
Badass brotha cant wait to see the process
Do you have plans of having it done by drag week in September? If so do you plan to try to be the first with a 5 second average for the week
Also 517.4 lbs
Hoping to be done for drag week
Definitely have no intentions of trying for a 5 second anything anytime soon, it’s gonna take some time to work some bugs out I’m sure
Man this is gonna be nuts!!!

Any plans on uploading some video from the Bragging Rights race?
It looks like a lot of work on the car.
Excited to see the progress.

Excited to see this!
Quest for 3’s ! Best of luck 🤞
Thanks for sharing, very informative for a newb short bus rider. Is there a benefit to keep the stock floor, class/category rules thing?
It’s just what we decided to do, I might be able to convince Matt to replace them but no guarantees lol

I do wonder though, would a coyote engine save some weight up front???
It would save weight but won’t run nearly as fast. Coyotes don’t like weight, and we can’t get light enough to utilize it
@@theholleyefiguy I hear you on that. Just thought I'd pick on you a little bit for having that Chevy motor up front, but big blocks definitely rule and yours is a very nice example of one. I’d definitely put a torque arm in it instead of four linking it. 😂 , so are you done for the season or think it’ll all Come together pretty quick?
The parts you are taking off your car would make my car nice.
I predict the frame will weigh exactly 567.4lb
565 lbs, your not an idiot, everything we do to our cars is to make it faster/ work better. No different than changing engine combo
Congrats on the win. Did you do it on cold side boost control ? My prediction for weight 520 lbs
The cold gate is gone off the car
Facebook fact checkers said you’re not an idiot.
I dont know what that means.
Do you believe the fact checkers? 🤔
Good luck with the build again. Definitely going to be cool to see the progress
Awesome.....580.
My wagon keeps me awake at night…..
Badass
I really like the john doc ball busting video much more
Devin think you'll make it happen, bud have a great week later
570 after blasting the chassis.
Still going to run the airjacks?
Of course
No not an idiot but, probably just bored. Of course the car will be better than ever !
It won't lose any weight . I think it's going to stay the same
You aint no idiot. Might be a little crayzee tho lol
You’re a god damn savage man lol
Or a moron lol
All of this came from changing a U joint. :)
No the u joint was fine, I wanted to re tint the side window
Sell me the torque boxes and bars
557 lbs after blasting.
Congratulations winning the Wally
526 lbs
Putting it on a diet nice.
Go ahead and make it a Notch Devin..
I like the convertible
Vanilla Ice didn't drive a Notch
559lbs after media blasting
Why not dip instead of media?
The dip place told me I had to drill holes in the bottom of every tube in the car to let acid out or they wouldn’t dip it
580 when it’s done
Installing lightness is not idiotic. Unless you sold a kidney or something to pay for it.
Suck it!! Xucking great….
