    Thank you for the info! I’m going to upgrade my 12 Silverado fans(3relay) to the 2016 (pwm) ones. My stock 2012 ECU can control either. The oem shroud on the 2016 fans is a TON better. Thanks for the info Devin!!

  • @flinch622

    The quality in this fan is not in the wattage, but the collector ring molded around the blade tips - that's free efficiency. But this does need a shroud to stand it off the radiator about an inch. As for the 200mph problem [shown at 8:44]... I'm not sure I would cut that flange off but rather look to shim & increase clearance and avoid the unintentional spin welding of the plastic. That feature does add strength and stability, plus... I would be a little concerned about ruining balance. Personally, 80amps is rediculous... and I would try to find something that can work on half that or less.

    Great Video, I do have the SPAL 16" Brushless Fan. I found it after talking to an Engineer at SPAL he told me that only a few Retailers have this fan. He supplied me the part number and I found it at Speedway Motors. My question is with your digital PWM Signal functioning with water temp, HOW WOULD YOU also Program it to run with my Vintage AC? I think with the AC ON the fan should run at like 50% Duty Cycle. Your Thoughts?

    Have you found any instances of folks using one axis with vehicle speed and turning the fan(s) off at a certain mph? I'd imagine its just a case by case situation as to if possible and what speed if so. I have a large IC in front of my rad and spal setup but hadn't really messed with it much to see how it would do.

    How does it compare to Deltapag fans?

    • @deltapag5051
      @deltapag5051 3 месяца назад +1

      I don't think Devin tried the 18" Delta PAG fan. The Delta PAG 18" moves 4,100 cfm through a 2.25" core, is 2.70" thin, 28amps at 13vdc, weighs 4.6lbs, only costs $425. No need to cut anything down or modify. The Delta PAG is 25% more efficient than this Spal fan. Most importantly, there are no electronics in the motor, so the only spare you need is the ECM. Also, the Delta PAG motor is only 3" in diameter, so doesnt block ram air. Devin should try the Delta PAG 18" fan, I think he will be pleasantly surprised.
