same thing with the Pain fight from Naruto. that fight has amazing animation but people keep saying that it's bad because they only focus on one frame and not the entire scene 💀
@@grizz8217 bro doesn't know a thing about animation lol. Both fights use the exact same animation techniques, specifically breaking the rules of "squash and stretch" where instead of the characters deforming to extenuate a certain action, their bodies essentially are deformed the entire time. It's the opposite of what cartoons like Looney Tunes or Tom & Jerry do when it comes to the animation technique of squash and stretch
I'm starting animating myself. Hearing people say that One Piece animation is bad would be like shitting on a person for not building a house in 7 days. Animation (when drawn) takes tonnes of time! Making good transtitions from frame-to-frame and having a good level of detail in every drawing is insanely hard. The animators are skilled beyond my grasp of what talent is.
@@frizen9328 3d animations are way easier to produce in a shorter amount of time. Quite a lot of anime have this implemented when animation studios don't have time to finish scenes with traditional hand drawn animations. 3d animation uses software that gives the producers the ability to move the models like IRL "stop-motion dolls". Instead of drawing the movements frame-by-frame. Examples of this can be seen in AoT s4 in the first part, where MAPPA gave the animators a very short deadline, so they had to use 3d to make up for the lack of time.
@@P3R_ Yes that is true but the result is only ever at most just passable 3d animation. The reason most dislike 3d in anime is because 99% of the time it's used when production can't keep up and thus rarely looks that good. High quality 3d animation requires a ton of time as well. Sure maybe not as long as high quality 2d animation but that's like comparing something that takes 10 minutes vs 8 minutes. 3d is used because it can easily meet a baseline level of quality. However, it needs time to go above that and it's hard to get away with what 2d animation gets away with. Limited animation often looks jank in 3d, still frames don't work well and you can't simply just animate lip flaps when characters are talking, etc. I'm sure 3d Disney movies, Spiderverse, Arcane, etc could have been made infinitely faster if they adhered to anime standards but obviously that looks terrible so they took those several years of time to make stuff that looks good.
one take almost everyone seems to have is mixing what the art style is with what the animation is, the animation can be stellar but because the art style isn't good instead of saying the art style is bad they say the animation.. they may be connected but they are completely separate things and must be treated as such Dressrosa had a pretty eh art style but in parts very good animation while Wano has a great art style with sometimes god tier animation and mid animation, two different things
While watching some Kaido scenes with a friend we honestly couldn't tell if it was 3d or not and that made us happy, cause either 3d got real good or they got themselves some strong unique style clashing in (which we love). In any case, thanks for clearning that up :D
the only problem i have with the animation by Ohira was the smoke and the shading moving alot but i still believe that the animation is really good im not a big fan of one peice but the work of one pieces animations were grand and cool to look at
in my opinion early dressrosa had avereage/good animation but when fukuzawa and his team joined on ep 28 and onward dressrosa has been looking better and better animation wise, and wci is the best pre wano animated arc but not art wise, even zou was looking very good, but still punk hazard is the worst animated arc in one piece
But still toei misses big oppurtinity after finishing ep 516 pre timeskip to make hiatus and go sesonal model with arc split cour model like demon slayer or bleach
Look. I've seen what they can do and I expected nothing less than that for important episodes. But that distortion style animation just looks lazy showed up in both kido fight and pain fight.
I think a lot people also have a problem with the pacing of the anime Kat of the time. Like it’s bad how much animation is reused just to pad time look at gear 5 luffy jumping around the exact same 3 times in a row. It also doesn’t help that this animation gets drowned sometimes in aura affect, haki coatings and even extend clashes that aren’t necessarily needed. Look at Gear 5 luffy pulling up the ground great animation but totally overdone and breaks the pacing of the episode by spending coat to long and too many effects on one scene
Nah the scene where luffy pulls up the ground and other things like that wasn't overdone it was what I wanted to see more of. The copy and paste scenes of luffy jumping around and doin goofy shit and the 2 minutes spent at the end of the episode where kaido and luffy were just staring at each other (and the infamous orochi scene) was overdone. Episode 1072 and 1074 were the best gear 5 episodes because it was god tier animation with minimal padding.

My only problem with the "animation" in those last episodes are the speed of some of them and the pacing of the episode. Like the one where his eyes shooting out stayed on screen too shortly for me to read the scene compare to the long build up animation just before. Also the reusing 2 ou 3 times the same animation in the same episode are making them not enjoyable to me. Overall not a fan of the episodes because of this... but please the animation in themself are just beautiful and I love rewatching them in clips.

so you are basically saying if you can’t do something you can’t criticize when it’s done poorly? that’s like saying if you can’t cook you can’t criticize bad cooking it just doesn’t make sense, like imagine someone feeding you literal trash like freshly harvested from a dumpster and imagine you can’t cook, do you just take it and not say anything because you can’t cook? are you meant to be happy something like it can even exist? the craziest part is you saying you can’t criticize if you can’t do it yourself
