There are lots of inspiring recipes. I took some photos before returning it to the library because I didn’t have a chance to try everything of interest
Interestingly I was recommended to separate drinking and eating by a doctor as well. For around thirty minutes from each other. No clue if he based that on anything he was taught.🤔 And I also learned from my friends, who have a family background in warmer countries, to never drink cold drinks if it is hot outside. I had a lot of discussions over the years about that, when people watch me drinking warm tea in summer. 😂
Perhaps I have been too dismissive, but I haven’t seen scientific evidence that drinking water with meals slows your digestion. As to beverage temperature, I don’t know. I prefer warm, room temperature, or cool drinks rather than icy cold ones, but I see it as a personal preference rather than a healthier choice.
I'll check and see if my library gets this one. The photos are lovely even though some of the concepts are iffy. I cannot imagine a life without iced tea! Thanks for the thorough review.
The author isn’t strict about Ayurvedic dietary precepts. She includes a recipe for an iced matcha latte. If you know anyone who cannot digest alliums, this is a good book to turn to for recipes because there are absolutely no onions or garlic in it.
Hi Lindy! I just bought this cookbook on Independent Bookstore Day! My used books store had it so I was able to get it for $3.00. I am going to read it in June. Radhi's husband, Jay, has a podcast I enjoy (I don't listen often, but when I'm in the mood...) called "On Purpose". He is a life coach. Radhi has been on there a few times.🥰
@@lindysmagpiereads No. Other than my initial flip through at the bookstore I haven't picked it up. It's going to be one of my reads for Summer Book Bingo! There is a space on the board labeled "Joyful" so I'm being very on the nose and reading "JoyFULL" 😁😂
@@novelideea 😁 The text is upbeat too. When you flipped through it, you might have noticed the section describing her morning routine is headed “wakey wakey.”
Thanks for the review. It sounds like her cookbook could've used additional editing! I'm interested in some of those ideas for spreads for toast, and some desserts. I already make my own hummus, mayo, and chocolate pie that uses silken tofu. Thanks Lindy.
Barbara, it’s good to hear from you! No doubt there are many dishes in the cookbook that you already make-various soups and salads, chocolate pie-but there are bound to be fresh inspirations as well. Another good thing is that many of the recipes are for small quantities, serving 1, 2 or 4 people. I hope you can borrow it from the library.
As a passionate vegan advocate, I am thrilled to see more plant-based cookbook options like this one that promote holistic well-being and sustainability. Im sharing this, come check me out for more delicious vegan inspiration!
Thank you Greyson! Radhi, the author of JoyFULL, writes that she was inspired to switch from vegetarian to vegan by Jonathan Safran Foer’s Eating Animals, which I also found persuasive.
This looks like something I could get a lot of inspiration from, I'll have to check this library. The sticky hoisin noodles sound amazing!

What a bargain! Have you made anything from it yet?

Cookbooks always have such lovely pictures to look at. 😁
Yes indeed. And I want to taste everything!
