Sad to hear of Little Richard's passing today.😢 I had the chance of seeing him perform at our Ottawa Bluesfest awhile ago w/Eric Burdon & Smokey Robinson. Seeing Little Richard onstage was amazing! I'll never forget that night, nor his voice. "Lucille" will forever remain with me. #RIPLittleRichard
I met this Wonderful Human Being in April of "93" on Hollywood& Vine with my 15 youngest Daughter when he drove up in his fine black Cadalliac driven by his Chauffeur, ever so very Charming & Kind telling my Daughter how Beautiful her Spirit was & her Beauty is ...Gave us each a little Bible with his name as he's a born again Christian for yrs now.....I have & always will love Little Richard as I listen to him now😁😎😘😘😘

I love you Little Richard thanks for being so nice when we ran into in Nashville you gave us a book he is 81 and so down to earth wish you good health and happiness
I love little Richard!!! This was, and still is a classic. He was pretty before Ali. Lol. Many ppl tried to copy his style, but failed. He is an innovator!!! This song is actually dedicated, and a namesake if a woman that he lived named Lucille, who left him. You can hear the emotion in this song when he sings it. That voice.......
This was one of my personal favourite Rock-n Roll records.I believe the backing was superb It was so simple but so effective Can you imagine a crowded dance floor with twenty or more couples jiving to this record with that brilliant combination of Little Richards voice and that pounding upbeat echoing round the dancefloor Those were the days
I envy my Dad and my Uncle Bill because they both saw Little Richard live in his prime. They were born at the right time to see all the early greats at The Uptown Theater in Philadelphia. My uncle told me that his father hated Little Richard so he could listen to the Pat Boone versions when his dad was home. He had a drawer of 45s that he had to hid from his father. I asked him who he liked better. He looked at me and said "Missy how could you ask me that? You know who my favorite was...". Happy New Year to you all!
Boy you can’t find music like this anymore the music is so superb he was one of the best singers of that day real music I am glad I was there miss those days wow 👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
I heard this tune on 45rpm at age 4 and have never stopped rocking. I'm 61 now. Long live r n r. Ty Mr. Penniman for giving me the r n r bug, man 😍😍👍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥😈😈
One of the founding fathers of rock n roll right here The great Little Richard mercy so great still get many requests for him on my internet radio show Classic Soul me the Masterblaster.
I feel Chuck Berry is right up there with Little Richard, I have always had a hard time picking the King between the 2 of them. I sure miss dancing to their music.
+TheOnlyOneKingElvis Elvis did not "create" anything. When Elvis came along, music was segregated (black/white). The white stations did not play black music, so the general population was not familiar with the sound. Whites would go to black clubs, hear what was being played, then went back and recorded or had it recorded by a white person. When the song was played on the white stations, the white population that it was "new" but blacks had been performing and listening to those sounds for years. When Elvis was young, his family lived in a black neighborhood, attending a predominantly black school, and hung out with black kids. He was directly influenced by blacks.
wow ..this is some OLD ASS stuff. I mean he was James Brown's inspiration when he was a kid....yea, Little Richard deserved all the good things that he got...good performer
Johnny Vain Michael Jackson bought the publishing rights of Little Richard music and gave it to him because the music industry ripped off Little Richard! The Music Industry left him bankrupt this is why he left music!
SPARKLING SOUL ....ROCK ON LITTLE RICHARD... you have brought joy and excitement to our lives such an Electric performer..HAPPY BIRTHDAY TODAY LITTLE RICHARD so glad you let no one define you and carried on XXX YOU ROCK X AND I LOVE YOU!!! xxx
Great as this is, it pales in comparison to Little Richard's live performances. I was fortunate enough to attend several of his concerts while he was at his very best. The dynamic electricity generated at those concerts can never be captured on any recorded device. The greatest of all the Rock and Rollers.
One of my favorite songs by Little Richard. If a Disc Jockey played any Little Richard record at sock hops, every kid in the place would go apeshit dancing their ass off. After the Little Richard record, if the Disc Jockey dared play any other singer, the place would erupt into chaos...until another Little Richard record came on. Even today, 2019, this Lucille and others by Little Richard get my juices flowing. Folks can argue about who's the better, Elvis or whoever, but there is no doubt about which singer gave us kids the most fun...Little Richard!!!
Met him in 1962 at Birmingham Town Hall and again on the Stones first tour at the Birmingham Odeon. A really nice person who was soon dismissed at the onset of the Beatles and Stones both of whom owe him a great debt. Was not old then or ugly but beautiful with the best Rock & Soul voice. He had a very vivid imagina tion and was a great raconteur.

I agreed with you 1000%....remember this guys was playing music in the segregation racist era, so of course the would prefer back this title to Elvis...
Bought his EP in England when a VERY young man (16/17). It had four massive hits Ready Teddy, Lucille, Long Tall Sally and Rip It Up. I don't think my parents were pleased that it played almost constantly!! Really had a influence on me after years of mediocre Big Bands, etc.
I HAVE LOVED LITTLE RICHARD SINCE I WAS THIRTEEN YEARS OLD I SING KANRAOKE AND I ALWAYS SING HIS SONGS. I LOVE U LITTLE RICHARD AND ALWAYS WILL SEND ME SOME LOVIN ........ LONG LIVE LITTLE RICHARD

I was Born in 1957. I just wished I could have been 17 years old during this Precious Of Rock N Roll history. This Is Quality Music.
To suggest that Little Richard was anything than one of the original true rock and rollers is a fallacy. The man is a god of rock.
Look at how that band rocks it. They have the moves. Those saks are rocking.
God of rock? Take your pick Little Richard, Elvis, Chuck Berry, or Buddy Holly?
@@robertmasina4610 I pick Elvis
