- big outerbanks fan here not gonna lie! seeing so many filming locations in person- was INCREDIBLY cool! my family and i had a TON of fun finding the filming locations and making the connections! below is a list of the places we saw:
1. sarah's house (lowndes grove)
2. john b's house
3. shem creek waterway
4. the gas station pope and his dad fought at
5. the docks that were broken after the storm and the dock where the police begin their search party for the sunken boat
6. the shed the pogues were in after the gold took off in the plane
7. the wreck restaurant
8. opening bridge scene
9. boats (the boats in charleston they ride)
10. park before going to ben silver (washington sqaure park)
11. ben silver (downtown charleston)
12. going to the archives at UNC chapel hill (charleston gallivan center)
13. the dock from the iconic rain scene (maritime center)
14. ms. crains house and garden
15. everything at midsummers (kiawah island: ocean course golf club)
16. main lighthouse in the ocean (morris island lighthouse)
17. season two trailer houses shot (rainbow row houses)
I originally had no plans of making this video when I was on my trip, but then I randomly decided to film a storytime of the experience, and I'm glad I did! hope you enjoyed it- be back next wednesday!

1:31 Lowndes Grove is a former slave plantation. It is named for Wm. Lowndes, a slave owner, son of a slave owner, and married to the daughter of a slave owner.
Sarah's house, perhaps with slave labor, was built by George Abbott Hall, a slave importer, whose firm was one of the largest importers of slaves into America at one time.
Today, privileged whites (and others) continue to enjoy these grounds where enslaved Africans once toiled, and died, in poverty and misery.
