I have a Shia friend whose brother has sadly become Christian. Family are fine with him meaning they haven’t disowned or kicked him out, but the extended family always exclude the brother now because he changed his faith.

That they said (in boast), "We killed Christ Jesus the son of Mary, the Messenger of Allah";- but they killed him not, nor crucified him, but so it was made to appear to them, and those who differ therein are full of doubts, with no (certain) knowledge, but only conjecture to follow, for of a surety they killed him not:- 
Chapter 5 The Table Spread سورة المائدة - Al-Maeda: Verse 72
لَقَدْ كَفَرَ الَّذِينَ قَالُوا إِنَّ اللَّهَ هُوَ الْمَسِيحُ ابْنُ مَرْيَمَ ۖ وَقَالَ الْمَسِيحُ يَا بَنِي إِسْرَائِيلَ اعْبُدُوا اللَّهَ رَبِّي وَرَبَّكُمْ ۖ إِنَّهُ مَنْ يُشْرِكْ بِاللَّهِ فَقَدْ حَرَّمَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ الْجَنَّةَ وَمَأْوَاهُ النَّارُ ۖ وَمَا لِلظَّالِمِينَ مِنْ أَنْصَارٍ
They do blaspheme who say: "Allah is Christ the son of Mary." But said Christ: "O Children of Israel! worship Allah, my Lord and your Lord." Whoever joins other gods with Allah,- Allah will forbid him the garden, and the Fire will be his abode. There will for the wrong-doers be no one to help. 
It's a test may Allah keep us steadfast brother

I am a Neurologist and 12 years ago I reverted to Islam. This gentleman has made up his mind based on pure misinformation, misinterpretation, stereotypes and corrupted scriptures. It took me 40 years of research and investigation prior to reverting to Islam (Alhamdulillah) Before that, I was a Christian Pastor for 27 years.

People from third country where they are not educated and are kept away from education or gaining knowledge. Therefore they go away from Quran and it's teaching. Since it's not their language they only learn to read it but not understand it. It's unfortunate but I believe the new generation will be different either they will stray away or they will come back. Probably, father's excessive hatred towards Islam forced the son to study and learn about Islam which led him to the truth. Ironically, this would have further increased father's hatred.
We should take him by his word when he says he didn't disown his son because he reverted to Islam but because he had a warped interpretation of Islam and thinks it's permissible or at least easier to cheat on your wife as a Muslim.

The Old Testament and the Torah are not exactly the same I’m sure you realize. The books of the O.T. believed to be written by Moses. Moses was an Israelite as was Jesus Christ. Amongst other things the OT prophesies Jesus Christ. In fact Jesus Christ said to follow the laws of Moses. The Apostles were Jewish. The OT is the first covenant and the NT is the second covenant. So, it’s not that we trust the OT because of the Pharisee, we trust it because of Jesus Christ and His Apostles. It’s literally part of our believe system.

Prophet's friends, uncles, brothers who believed in him and accepted his message to Islam were killed and Martyred in front of him. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his brothers friends companions and uncles were expelled from Makkah just because s.a.w wanted them to stop idol worship and invited them to worship the creator. After many battles when Prophet Muhammad s.a.w and his uncles, brothers friends and companions returned to Makkah victorious, our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ forgave them all and permitted them to continue to live in Makkah. Yes our Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and his companions suffered a lot.

In Islam a slave has connotations that differ from modern definitions of slavery. A captive in war is called a slave instead of prisoner of war. Slaves have the same food and have to be treated like a prisoner of war. Not like a slave in the colonial stolen ones that worked plantations etc.

You can become a Muslim still. Even right now after reading this comment. There is no obedience to any created being (even your parents) if it means disobedience to the Creator.
Allah says (English Interpretation of its meaning):
And We have enjoined on man (to be dutiful and good) to his parents. His mother bore him in weakness and hardship upon weakness and hardship, and his weaning is in two years - give thanks to Me and to your parents. Unto Me is the final destination.
But if they (both) strive with you to make you join in worship with Me others that of which you have no knowledge, then obey them not; but behave with them in the world kindly, and follow the path of him who turns to Me in repentance and in obedience. Then to Me will be your return, and I shall tell you what you used to do.
Surah Luqman Ayah 14-15
You can take your shahadah and keep your Islam a secret. You can tell Muslims who you trust about your acceptance of Islam. We are brothers and sisters and will always support eachother.
To become a Muslim, you should take shahadah by saying “Ash-hadu alla ilaha illa-Allah wa ash-hadu anna Muhammadan Rasul-Allah.”
The English translation of the shahadah is:
“I bear witness that there is no deity (none worthy of worship) but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.”
Once you have said your Shahadah, you have become a Muslim, Alhamdulillah!
It is not essential to take shahadah (say the testimony of faith) before witnesses. Islam is a matter that is between a person and his Lord, so I highly recommend saying this now. Tomorrow is not guaranteed.

10 Islamic Rules of War Given by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
Here is a glimpse of some of the Islamic rules of war based on the Hadith of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ
•No killing of children and women
•No killing of elderly and sick persons
•Exercising patience even during war
•Not to head into war “hoping” for a conflict
•Leaving the monks and those in places of worship alone
•No destruction of property, cultivated lands and crops, etc.
•No uprooting or burning of green and fruit-bearing trees
•No slaughtering of animals for reasons other than food
•No hurting or burning bees
•No theft or robbery in the guise of war
•Avoiding destruction to an inhabited place
Wahab, you gotta tell them that those verses about striking down the kafir is specifically about war time and the battle of Badr!

I know people like these. They have been through so many things throughout their lives that they have built up a wall of hatred around them. They are such ungrateful people.
