Thank you. I was getting up at 2 am to start my day most of the time. Got to time it just right to make it through dfw on both ends to avoid rush hour. I only recorded the first week cause I knew it would have been repetitive. I hope we get some more of this run cause I sure was missing it today. I’m in Louisiana somewhere right now 😒
Another great video. Iron Ore from East Texas is a red clay base with sand and gravel. Being from East Texas that material will definitely stick and if it rains your shiny white truck will become red😢
Thank you! Luckily over the span of that 3 weeks it didn’t rain, and only stuck on this initial dump from when I recorded. Every single other dump slid right on out!
@@adamkubiak9760 yes I would agree. I asked the customer and if I remember correctly he said that land use to be owned by Pittsburg steel company and when they shut the pipeline down he purchased the land. He said they mined it and pulled the metals from the dirt to make the actual pipes for the pipeline. But since it’s his property now he’s building his house on the lakeside and he found that company in west Texas to purchase it. I would assume they are pulling the metals out of it as well to make raw material of some sort.
Lone Star steel used to produce steel from the iron ore in the area you are picking up at. Pull up Google Earth around Lone Star Texas and you will see all the old buildings. It was a Massive operation!
@@Cinchy2017 to be exact at this moment I can’t say. It’s around $2.75 a mile. I’m not sure where the fuel surcharge is at currently. But it’s around there. I’ll find out tomorrow what we’re at
I dig your videos man. I currently work for TMC transportation doing flatbed work, but ran across a guy At a rest area who used to do flatbed, but now does end dump trailer. He was laughing, and said the only tarp has to worry about is the one on top lol. Anyways, we got to talking about how long he stays on the road and also how much he is average gross is per week. I know these two things can change depending on where you’re located and where are you operate out of but in your professional opinion would you say that there is more income to be made using an end dump trailer?
Imo yes there is. I’ve done almost every type of trucking there is and so far end dump is the most consistent I’ve done with minimal wait times. It has slowed down this season but still better than other areas of trucking I’ve been following. And thanks for the feedback on my channel
Hey buddy. Just found your channel. I used to be leased to Oakley in late 98 and 99. I recognized your truck I work in lone star tx now. You Probably loaded for Seaton construction
Hey hey, that was many many moons ago lol. From what they mentioned it was the old Pittsburg steal property. I guess these guys purchased it and moving what was left behind. Not exactly sure aside from the fact that I loved every bit of this run. Sad to be off of it this week 😒
The electric company should install markers on the power line, that would help.
Thanks for the ride!
You would think they would being such a big safety oriented place.
Beautiful quarry. Stay safe buddy
Agreed! Thank you
