Completely agree, when you get a little older, like myself you have to think of these things. I really liked when all the young girls were going grey and had I been 20 I'd of probably tried it. But I never could've pulled the look off myself without looking old.
I had a pair of Clark sandals called Whipstitch that were the best. Clarks have gone Coach and the quality is crap. They need to bring back the basics….those whipstitch sandals were worn straight out of the box to a four hour antique flea market on a huge Pennsylvanian hillside. Loved them so much that I bought a pair of used ones on eBay. The foot beds both crumbled after a few years. Crumbling seems to be a Clark’s downfall.
Yeah, I don't understand this current shoe trend. But Emma remains my style icon. x
Hi Emma. I love these dad style sandals and they’re probably the most comfortable sandals I’ve ever worn apart from my Birkenstock’s. As I avoid buying leather where there’s a choice, I picked up some excellent non-leather dupes from H&M and I’m really happy with them. Ok - they’re not the most delicate of sandals but I do love them,they aren’t slippery at all and I totally agree that the contrast with floaty dresses looks great in my opinion .I do think £1,000 is a crazy price for sandals with a CC label on them and even if I had the money,I wouldn’t purchase them on principal !! Mine were a mere €25 !

Agreed.. a pair of black birkinstocks are miles better. These come off a bit pretentious but that's just my opinion!

I like the Birkenstock’s Gizeh - the toe post ones. Reasonably priced and easy to walk in.
I have the Tony Bianco and they are incredible, very soft leather, comfortable from the get go. Highly recommend.

Well done review! :) I can 100% recommend the Tony Bianco dupes; I purchased a pair more than two months ago, and they have held up beautifully! Very comfortable, but I can’t compare them to the Chanel, because I was tardy to the party, and could not get my hands on a pair without paying more than retail.

Emma, you made me buy them! I fell in love with these classic, timeless black on black combinations. I recently bought them through a personal shopper for $1726USD. Yup, the price increases again. But it’s so worth it as I can literally wear them with every single outfit in my wardrobe. I’d also love to hear your thoughts about the Chanel classic wallet on chain.

As vestiaire charge, 35% commission, just goes to show why the price is so inflated when sold second hand. I picked up the Dune version, apart from some odd squeaking at the footbed, joys of no socks:). As the sole is not leather, there is a decent amount of grip.
I got a pair, very similar to Chanel ones from EGO and they are sooooo comfy!!!

I’ve got the Mango ones. They are not leather but really nice quality and comfortable. £49.99!
I was going to include the Mango dupes in the video but they were sold out when I checked - maybe a couple of small sizes available - so I left them out 🙈

I tried to get the Mango ones, but my feet are small and size 36 were too big..unfortunately getting a size 35 is like "unicorn poo" as Emma well said!! 🤣

Comfort is the most important thing to me, no question. These sandals are nearly a dupe of Birkenstocks, which have been much-loved here in California for decades.
I love these, but I’m hoping to wait a few years for the dad sandal trend to fizzle out and then try for them on the secondhand market at that point. Thank you for the review!
I think the quilting gives them some style.
These have grown on me, Ngl!! I won’t be getting them anytime soon (too expensive and not really my style) but it’s a great piece on you especially the amount of wear you’re getting. I think it’s a turning point in fashion where comfort is acceptable and cool even.

Emma, did I miss the part where you talked about size? That is what I am most interested in coz there is a lot of different info online, some say go up half a size some say go down.
I don’t know why these are a “trend”? It’s a classic if there ever was one, worn by generations 😆 I remember my first pair 30 years ago 🤣 A bit more colourful to be honest, but it worked with my toddler style ;)

I own the Dune Lockstockk sandals in the black and I LOVE them! Tempted to get the camel colour as well! Great review on the Chanel ones and thanks for introducing me to other brands I wouldn’t of thought of xxx

I have the doc martens too I live in Florida a lot of rain ,sand,and mud Chanels would be ruined

Hi Emma! I believe the difference between the Ducie Luxe and regulare sandals is that the Luxe ones have slightly larger quilting and extra padding. But I agree: they should definitely make the difference more clear on their website, it took me a while to figure it out! Cheers from germany ❤️

The boots feel very light and the sole feels like empty plastic on the inside. The inner material feels cheap it’s not even well glued… is this me being overly annoying? Has anyone had experience with Ducie London and did they think it was worth the price?

Just found Tony Bianco sandals on Flannels website £80 + £7 delivery. I have never used this website before so can't comment on service. As Emna stated Tony's are pre-order for August, Flannels are available now 😀
Love your reviews they’re always so in-depth and you cover everything most people think of when purchasing high end items. I think they are a thing of beauty but yeah the price is just 🙈 but then it’s Chanel. Comfort is key, definitely. I’m over ramming my feet into shoes or boots that have you wincing, like Monica in Friends with those boots 😂 They look fab on you and I managed to get the Mango dupes which are very nice so I’m happy with that 😘

Update: bought another ones from the brand called Astra (they are men’s but who cares), and they are big enough 🤩
i just got the ducie london dupe in the mail today, someone was selling them secondhand in my country and since with customs the new ones would come around €250,-, i took the guess. they are PERFECT! they are an extreme good dupe and fit perfect. would definitely recommend!

Super review Emma thank uuuu ❤ One question pls : when you wear the sandals with wide pants, doesn't the scratch on the back of the sandals catch the bottom of the pants and damage them please ? I already have experienced that with dupes sandals.

TBs are super comfortable and well made. I am very picky when it comes to shoes because I basically wear sneakers and birkenstocks only. The leather on them is so soft that no breaking in was needed

I just ordered the Dune sandals in nude. They run a little large but I wear a whole size so didn’t size down. I tightened down the back strap and it worked out well for me.

I’ve got the Mango ones but haven’t used them yet, they costed me 49€. And Gucci newsletter informed me that they have their own GG version, in leather and in rubber/plastic. I find plastic/EVA shoes very sweaty, I could only wear them on the beach or for domestic use, so I’m asking myself if I want to splurge on the leather GG (about 850€). I like the style of the dune but they have that dark sole that I don’t like against the upper part and this would lead me to the black colorway… lots of mind games on this topic 🤔🤔🤔.

I personally would never spend a £1000 for a pair of shoes that are not a classic…. £500 is my limit even then. I have also avoided this particular style as they are just everywhere. Great video! Would you ever consider making a video about ‘luxury trend items’ a few years after the trend? For example, Chloe boots, Chloe Faye bag, … and revisit how you look at them now? Are they truly timeless?

I tried the Marks ones and the toe section isn’t adjustable. I have wide feet so they didn’t fit. I love the sandals so I’m still looking to get some dupes.

Emma always looks so chic, but I for one cannot understand the "ugly shoe" trend. Maybe it's because I'm small and have very small feet which would probably look ridiculous in these big, chunky things, but I have always prefered small, delicate sandals (and I like my feet to be almost bare in summer). But to each their own - I guess being tall and lean makes you look good in anything.
Fantastic review Emma. Did you find they took much time to break them in? Do they conform to your feet with wear?
Yes they definitely mould to your feet as you wear them. I got some minor rubs the first day I wore them but I did wear them on a hot day for an entire day and that’s never a good idea with any new shoes. But I had no issues after my first wear and they’re now one of my most comfortable pairs of sandals I own 🙌🏼

I really love these sandals ! If they can last for YEARS and the price was decent I’d go for it… however I am currently educating myself towards ethical brands so Chanel is a no-no and I’m sure I’ll find an ethical pair of dad sandals in the near future 😊
And for the sandals I’d definitly advise you to ask your cobbler to add an anti-slip rubber external sole Xx

I have the Arket chunky sandals and, even though they are lovely quality, I keep getting blisters after multiple wears!! Maybe I'm not adjusting them correctly in the heat? Any advice??
I would use a blister stick or vaseline where you are getting blisters until your feet are used to them OR pop on some thick socks and wear them round the house for a couple of days (with the socks on) to help break them in 👍

I prefer a sueded-leather footbed, it doesn’t get slippery. Of course, a lighter-colored suede footbed does get dirty.
There is a you tube video on how to clean that footbed.
I think Billi Bi have similar shoes as well :)

I personally don't opt for a cropped blazer as I prefer the more oversized/relaxed fit and style of a blazer. But then it will be personal choice and will depend on what fits/suits your style and wardrobe. If you like how they fit then I would go for it ❤️
