I live in New York...in the so-called Hamptons. People here do not "dress up" unless going to a party. Your wonderful sense of style combined with how people truly live and dress is so useful and refreshing! And...you always look chic and beautiful!!!
Hi 👋..we're from Nantucket, and have a cottage in Amagansett!! On Bluff Rd. We hardly dress up unless we're going to somewhere that requires we do 😊..winter is blasting cold on the coast. Uber thermals are required for us. Canadian goose parker coats and tundra snow boots are what we wear..lol.. we're not at our most attractive in winter..lol
@@deeterr1227 💗 That's what I love about Emma. She is chic even when dressed down. People are so deluded about dressing out here. Sooooo casual. we even wear the dreaded leggings.
Luv this video Emma! Even though we are not the same size, I am very petite, I get a lot of inspirations from your video's. Especially when talking about practicalities in our wardrobe ❤❤❤.
Merry Christmas! Working with you this year has been an absolute joy. I truly appreciate your trust and collaboration. May your holiday be filled with warmth, love, and wonderful memories. Looking forward to many more great moments next year!
Hi Emma. I spent many years avoiding puffer coats as I thought they were shapeless, unflattering and I felt like the Michelin tyre man when trying them on! Eventually, I found a fantastic one which was a tulip shape design, not shiny, made by a company called Degrade and cost over €200 . However, it’s about 5 years old now and is my warmest coat as well as looking as good as the day I bought it. I’m so glad I held out for a more feminine and as ‘elegant’ a design as a puffer coat can be !! It’s certainly been worth the money. Being warm is essential in cold winter weather and as always, you showed us some lovely, practical cosy items.❤️❄️🥰
I love your sense of humour, Emma. 😂 You whispering: “Mummy, what’s a condom?” Now, let’s hope kids are not reading the comments section. Anyway, your videos are always such a cozy experience. 😊
Have you seen the shop called Nearly New Cashmere? They make snood/hood in one with discarded cashmeres, work perfectly with a wool coat that doesn’t include a hood. They are also reversible too, I just got a beige/brown, super cut and keeps me warm. Xx hope you had a lovely Christmas break
This is so awesome Emma. I love your videos like this, you give such great tips and recommendations - the snood and sheepskin insoles are brilliant! I got turned onto Heattech by you a few years ago and never looked back. Would love to hear your recommendations for sunglasses in winter. I struggle with the metal frames being too cold in freezing temps and the fogging up from my breath. Thank you!!
Good essentials. I would add a heavier raincoat which is what I need here on Vancouver Island in BC, Canada. While we don’t usually get snow or even all that cold, it is a rainforest and lives up to that name. Underneath I wear a fleece layer or insulated vest and definitely waterproof boots…especially if I’m going for a walk on the beach. 😊
Brilliant Emma! 👌 I loove that you show classy, good looking but warm and comfortable cloths! I love your style both with home & cloths 🥰 I hope you have a really lovely Christmas Holiday with your loved ones! ❄️🎅🏻🌲 Lots of love from Sweden 🇸🇪
I live in Nebraska and have been wearing Eddie Bauer winter coat which is very warm and great quality. But I am curious about Uniqlo coat now.. this is very helpful.
I live on the southern coast of Massachusetts we don't generally get a lot of snow but we do get Canadian cold fronts so I have many warm and snuggly articles of clothing your recommendations are exceedingly welcome ❤
After watching last week video I ordered these Zara boots and I love them! That was exactly what I was looking for, so thank you for sharing ❤❤❤I've been looking for high knees boots for a long time and there was always something wrong, too high, too big on the calves, too expensive...but these one are just perfect ☺
I absolutely loved this video. Cannot stand having cold feet. My feet freeze first and very easily. And then the rest of me cannot cope as my feet start hurting, and its just a miserable experience overall. Im often wearing 2 pairs of socks, a short pair and a long pair under my jeans. Or a pair of thermal stockings and a pair of socks underneath. Frozen feet are my least fave thing about winter. Gearing up for freezing temperatures here in Germany. Thank you for the video 😊
I have an Arket puffer and while I love it for warmth, it´s absolutely dismal in the rain. I don´t think I´ve ever had a coat that leaks as fast as mine does.
Yeh it’s not a coat I would wear in heavy rain. Maybe a bit of drizzle or a light shower but it’s not waterproof so shouldn’t be treated as a rain coat x
I bought an arket hat on your recommendation and we went to New York earlier this month, it was freezing there but your hat recommendation saved me!! ❤
Hi Emma. I have a puffer coat from Quince that I love. My Uniglo Heat tech shirts arrived yesterday but I have not tried them on as of yet. Thanks for the video.
Once again a very useful video and recommendations. I totally agree with you about not doing well in the cold 🥶 I am grumpy when I’m cold and this from a Canadian 😂! I blame it on living in the Netherlands for the last 20+ years and dealing with damp cold, rain and wind. Being toasty warm is bliss!! I was in Toronto for 9 weeks this autumn and stocked on heat tech items at Uniqlo. I’m a walking advertisement for their products and I have never felt so warm and cozy. Merry Christmas Emma and to Simon and the doggies 🎄wishing you a wonderful holiday season and a Happy 2025 🥂
Hi Emma by far my favourite youtuber..please could you do a video on outfit ideas for loafers and trainers spezial brown..i have had these for xmas and finding it hard to put outfits together to wear with the both shoes..hope you can help 😊
I absolutely hated the look of puffer coats/vests before I moved to Serbia from South Africa. They are a must now and I own 6 in different styles and lengths.
It really depends on the style of coat. It may be worth it for a wool coat so you can add layers but then for something like a puffer it probably isn't required as they are already pretty toasty (but this again depends on how much you feel the cold 🥶 and how toasty you want to be) ❤️
I struggle to look chic wearing a long puffer parka, but it’s essential for me as I live in an area that can get upto -25F and upto 65-70mph wind gusts!!😂 Can you do a lookbook video styling long puffers? Meanwhile, I’m here looking like a walking sleeping bag. 😂😂
You have now enticed me into ordering a snood! It certainly looks a lot less bulky than a scarf when out for casual walks in the cold! One question about the forest green Arket beanie you showed on the vlog. Your link went to the Alpaca/Merino version, of which I have the black version and love. However I couldn't see the green one amongst the colours on the website for this version, Although there is a cheaper wool blend advertised in forest green on their website. Is this the version you have? If this is your last vlog till after the holidays, can I please wish you, Simon and the Bs a very, very merry Christmas and all good wishes for 2025 (and also to all Emma's online community as well!). Xxx
The green beanie I have is the same alpaca/wool blend one but I’m assuming the green colour has sold out and no longer available so they’ve removed it as an option. I only got mine back in September but certain colours sell very fast so I can only assume that’s what’s happened x
@EmmaHill Oh, thanks. He's only 2 and very strong boy, last bit of med is due on Christmas day. He had an hour of good sleep earlier, I'll take that as a very positive sign
Hi there ! Just so you know, unfortunately the Colorful Standard socks aren't 100% wool. I know because I love this brand and wanted to buy them but they only have 44% wool, then coton and more than 20% of plastic :( Love your content btw, thanks for all the videos your share !

I love your snood suggestion as it gives a more streamline look and doubles as a face mask in a pinch
Thank you for your useful videos, Emma! And a special thanks for the automatic translation! 🙏❤
Arket and H&M also do "hoods", which is a beanie/hat attached to a neck piece. Handy! 😘

My Canada Goose coat comes out every winter, I can't survive without it
Very nice video Emma🙂 very useful tips👍
Thoughts re cos brushed cashmere jumper ? V the chunky cashmere
I saw them online, liked them but not enough to buy. I think it’s going to need brushing regularly to keep looking like that and not matting x

Lovely useful video thanks (from a Londoner moved to the country) so clothes have changed!
Thank you ❤️
I absolutely hated the look of puffer coats/vests before I moved to Serbia from South Africa. They are a must now and I own 6 in different styles and lengths.
They aren't the most attractive but they do the job 🙌
Is it worth sizing up in a winter coat to fit more layers underneath? Curious as to what people do 😊
It really depends on the style of coat. It may be worth it for a wool coat so you can add layers but then for something like a puffer it probably isn't required as they are already pretty toasty (but this again depends on how much you feel the cold 🥶 and how toasty you want to be) ❤️
@@EmmaHill thank you 😊 🙏 planning on getting a wool coat from sezanne in january, will take that into consideration
Lovely 😊 lots of items on my wish list.
Great tips for staying toasty. 👍🏽

Happy holidays Emma, to you and Simon.
Thank you, Happy holidays to you too ❤️
Merry Christmas hope you had a great time in Paris 🎄❄️
Thank you ❤️ Merry Christmas 🎄
Have bought CS socks and beanie = soooooo good
Did you bought something else from CS than the socks? Coton weater, merino wool jumper or scarf?
✌🏻❄️
Yes I have a few pieces from Colourful standard - few hoodies and a jumper I have been wearing in a few recent videos 👍
When I lived in snowy upstate New York I became Team thermals, puffer coat, and Sorel boots.
🙌
May I ask as a size 12 would you think a s or m in the cos chunky jumper
I would say a M. I’m a 10 and wear a S x
