- Shiva is one of the favourite gods in India. The journey starts from the Rigveda, where he is praised as Rudra, the storm god. Puranas portray the Vedic Rudra as a compassionate god, a family man and the same image has percolated in the oral tradition. This talk will enable one to understand various dimensions of Rudra Shiva.

Prof. Gauri Madam gave a homework, which nobody took I guess:)
So let me try what madam told. The 5 temples for the Pancha Mūrtis of Shiva.
1. Ishāna = Kānchipuram (Earth/ Prithvi)
2. Tatpurusha = Tiruvānaikka (Water/ Appu)
3. Agora= Tiruvannāmalai (Fire/ Agni)
4. Vamadeva = Sri Kālahasti (Wind/ Vāyu)
5. Satyojāta = Chidambaram (Space/ Akāsa)

Powerful & detail speech on Shiva thanku mam,
"Shiva is a cosmic being lying down, he's NON-PHYSICAL yet Opaque, when Shakti comes & dances around him suddenly he wakes up, when he woke up he ROARS and he's called Rudra.. When he Roars he spits out Agni.. Galaxies.. Stars.. When he cools down he settles & takes a billion Forms which we today see as Creation"
So this is the exact Big Bang Theory said by Modern Scientists... So VEDAS address Rudra as the CREATOR of this Brahmand.. & Puranas describe the SHIVA as Yogi, Shi-Va is that which is not..
That which is NON-PHYSICAL.. So a Yogi who appeared in Himalayas & because he was in CONSTANT TOUCH with this Nonphysical Dimension we call him also SHIVA.
The Nataraj swaroop of Shiva shows perfectly the process of Creation..
Shiva has Agni, Damaru in his hand.. He's dancing and standing on TIME in a Circular Ring of Fire.
Always a circle showed Universe Brahmand. he's Dancing and Fire & Damaru shows the Sound of Explosions & Bangs happening during Big Bang , he even destroys the KAALA...
So VEDAS describe this aspect of Creation..
& Puranas describe the Yogi who was Shiva

It may take some effort, but do keep at it!
