Prof. Gauri Mahulikar's knowledge of language, literature, and mythology is vast and deep, and the incorporation of her slide show added further clarity to the content she was presenting. from watching this lecture I was able to gain a deeper understanding of this global myth of the hero/god slaying the dragon (with a thunderbolt weapon). I am very grateful - thank you!

@Subhasree ji, A valid question, mythology is just a word and a widely accepted one. Within the constraints of the language, we may have to use the word, however it is fine if we have conviction in those stories told to us through different tales, scriptures and epics.
Is there information about when Indra slayed Vritra? If early enough, could it be the case that the waters released after slaying Vritra resulted in the flood that Manu survived?
"He (=the dragon) lay there like a split reed, the rising waters of Manu flowed over (him); the dragon lay at the feet of those whom he had encompassed with his might." - Rg Veda 1.32 I think that answers my question. 🙏
Frequent changes between slideshow and face of narrator frame created poor video... Don't show narrator frequently, when slideshow is going on.... Secondly, you are telling rain as natural phenomenon, but Veds say that when fumes of Yajana reaches to gods in the sky, then Indra showers, and it rains...

Hari OM! We can't confirm that, however it could be the annual natural phenomenon of rain.
