  • A practical overview with guidance and advice of applying Māori Data Sovereignty principles to Māori community engagement.
    The intended audience are those who have attended the previous Māori Data Sovereignty seminars or at least a basic understanding of rangatiratanga and Te Tiriti.
    The session will explain in more depth cultural foundations such as whanaungatanga and manaakitanga within the context of working with Māori.
    We will consider practical approaches to principles of Māori Data Sovereignty in community/whānau based research including community/whānau as equal partners and establishing protocols for data access and control that honour Te Tiriti o Waitangi commitments.
