The thing is that the lyrics are some of the most uninspired and unmeaningful lyrics I've ever heard and the album isn't very experimental. Green day has had much better albums
@@matthewduffy1710 I like the intro to Panic Song honestly but that's just me. My all time favourite on Insomniac is Armatage Shanks though, that song might just be the most underrated Green Day song ever, it's so damn good.
i don't think it was a joke but it wasn't serious. apparently they don't play many or any songs from it live, it was their last album with their record deal and an album needs to be 8 songs and 25 minutes to be classified as an album, FOAMF is 10 songs and 26 minutes. May not have been a joke, but wasn't serious either
Lazy bones and Letterbomb (originally called cluster bomb and with lyrical changes to fit the story of American idiot) were going to be on Cigarettes and Valentines so I guess it makes sense that they fix next to each other
That's funny because my copy of dookie didn't come with Vanilla ice cream, peaches, cream, chocolate sauce, cherries, triffle, jelly, or strawberry ice cream. :(

Out of all their stuff, those albums are what I revisit along with Nimrod and compilation "shenanigans".
Yes, I think a lot of songs in all three albums are amazing, the problem is there are also a lot of tracks that feel filler-ish, and the further you go the less "Green Day" it sounds, but a lot of my favorite songs are in the albums, like X-Kid, Nuclear Family, Oh Love! and Dirty Rotten Bastards
i feel like the trilogy gets unfairly complained about a lot, but it's easier so see why when you compare it to demolicious. it contains (most of) the best songs from the trilogy in a rawer, more genuine sound--one that sounds more like what fans have been used to. i love both collections of music, but i definitely listen to demolicious far more as a whole. (personally am in love with the acoustic version of stay the night.)
I disagree in some points. ¡Dos! Is in my opinion the better album of the trilogy, I find ¡Tre!
