that was a perfect description of the shrek franchise! 👌 1. started great 2. continued phenomenally 3. continued again abysmally but people watched it anyways because it was a shrek movie 4. ended great again (watch shrek 4 it’s pretty underrated)
I guess it’s his opinion, but still, no one can go wrong with The Road to El Dorado, Flushed Away and Captain Underpants… but they still do, and coming from a (pre-2019) How to Train Your Dragon fan, we would so take those over The Hidden World any day!
@The Movie Basher That was a nice addition to the movie, making Mr. Krupp more than just a evil mean principle, but a sad lonely man with no one to love.
I agree on your opinion on The Curse of The Were-Rabbit, but that show frightened the hell out of me. Still, it’s a great movie, and I wish there were more Wallace and Gromit feature length films, as the others were so good yet so short.
Fun fact: Dreamworks also did the CGI backgrounds and opening for Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street. I don’t know if you really count that as a Dreamworks movie, but the studio ID was literally at the beginning of the movie, so it counts for me personally
Agreed, and that movie actually was really hilarious, but the twist where the hamster turned out to be evil and the main villain sucked. I'm not sure if he was a hamster or if he was a geinea pig though.
The entire How To Train Your Dragon franchise(movies and TV shows) have been my entire childhood ever since I was 7 about to be 8 years old on August 17th back in 2010, and now I'm 20 years old.
even if “the bad guys” is really popular, I still think it’s underrated, it’s just perfect, even other famous furry films like zootopia (or how it’s called) should kneel to the bad guys
I think it’s a bit overrated. It’s a great movie, and I really like a lot of what the movie has to offer, but there were some moments that felt rushed or just didn’t have a lot of thought put into it. Like the bad guys going to prison so they can redeem themselves but the fox doesn’t have to go to prison even though she committed several crimes. Like what? And it felt a bit cynical, that you should do the right thing because it makes you feel good and not because others needs should be placed above your own. I feel like I could be wrong or getting the moral of the story messed up so please correct me if I’m mistaken, but overall I do think the bad guys is a great movie and one of the best movies dreamworks has offered in a really long time.
@@ihavespoken9871 the fact that it’s rushed is actually true, that’s probably its biggest downside. But for me, the thing that makes it gorgeous is that it’s impossible to predict what happens. But yea, I also felt like they could give more time to some things
Never understood why How to train your dragon 3 gets so much hate, it wasn't as good as the first 2 but it was still a very solid movie. Complaints about the ending I've never understood either, bigger threats were coming and it wasn't worth the risk, simple as that.
I just watched it a week ago. Honestly I don't hate it, just kinda disappointed, especially since the ending kinda felt rushed and just removed the tention of SPOILERS: The tention of losing all the Dragons, like everything was just concluded too quickly. Also the villain was disappointing, started out fresh and intimidating, but fell off really bad, literally lol.
Finally, his opinion on the second Trolls (even more horrible), Croods (waste of money), and Boss Baby (the worst thing he'd ever seen) is pretty understandable given how sequels often work nowadays.
Captain Underpants - “Am I the only one who understands the complexity of this ambitious cinematic masterpiece? This movie isn’t stupid, YOU’RE stupid!”
There are some Dreamworks movies that should have failed but were carried by the 4 year old children who watched it. This is an accurate description of Trolls and the second movie wasn't as popular because of the time it was realeased in, which was lockdown. Other examples of this include Boss Baby, as the movies came off to the public in the same way. The overused, nearly decade old pop songs used in them, how their general aura is targeted to little kids and usually have too much toilet humor (Boss Baby especially) and/or just overall a boring storyline. I remember when everyone hated on The Emoji Movie, because it kind of goes into this genre of movies. The only difference being that I thought The Emoji Movie was throwing in actually funny jokes and references that made me laugh and feel happy. Same kinda goes for the Sonic Movies, but same as The Emoji Movie, (The Sonic Movies are better don't shout at me) was actually very entertaining despite, y'know, Robotnik flossing in 2022 and Sonic in 2020. xD. So overall, Trolls and Boss Baby sucked.
I think the Hidden world could have been a lot better. It's called the Hidden world, and yet the light fury, this look into this secret world (which we already got in the second film) is a gentrified sperm cell of a female dragon and the world itself has less than 5 minutes of screentime. It's just not as engaging or powerful as the previous films.
My prediction for the Shrek Quadrilogy -
- Peach Syrup
- Peach Syrup Again
- Cooking Oil
- Lovely Once Again
Edit: Spot on!
I'm probably in the minority here but, i always liked shrek 3.
