Thank you for this video! It's amazing! The only thing I would like to point out is that hares are not allowed pacers except for in town. I think this information important to emphasize. I will definitely come back to this video through my training.
Thanks for the video. I see you wearing a Boston cap, are you like me and are a flat lander? I just signed up for 2018, and am looking forward to it. Elevation has got me a little worried, but I did Bryce 50 this year at 8-9k feet and was able to tough it out.
Chris Beveroth flatlander yes. I was living in Boston when I did RRR. We had lived out in CO and done a ton of hiking. The downhills are harder to train for and RRR has really long sustained ones! If you can help train for that, you will do well. And bring WARM clothes.
Thanks for the tips. Definitely bringing warm clothing. I've read several reports, and everyone reiterates that statement A LOT. I plan on hopefully going out west several times through the summer for some mountain training.
Great walkthrough - thanks! I'm preparing for RRR this year. One question: you mentioned carrying your down jacket, but didn't say if you ever actually needed it?
Hey Jon - I did wear my down jacket. I wore it starting at Long Lake (the second time). From Long Lake over to Summit Lake is fairly flat and exposed/windy. If I was running that race, I'd definitely be bringing it again. All in all I had four layers - a long sleeve mizuno shirt, a short sleeve tech short, a 1/4 zip Craft, and my REI down jacket.
Hug the designated hugger, lol. Awesome video, exhausted just listening to the description of the course!
Thanks a lot for this video! I am preparing to run the 100 as a hare this year... Also my 1st 100 so this is super helpful!
Daniel Kinney awesome! Good luck on the race.
Thank you. This is so helpful.
Glad you enjoyed it! Are you running this year?
Yes I am!
Awesome!

Yes, that's right. That's a safety issue. Thanks for the reminder!
