Let me explain I was asking to find out if you have experience in Linux. I watched your video to help myself make a decision on buying a separate machine for windows or paying for a VM from windows to run windows applications versus dealing with emulators.

      Hey there, Gr8 question!
Appreciate your time in watching the VDO and a revert :)
Coming to your question, since I havn;t used Xbox Console to access AVD, let's check the same in the following way :
      1. Open the edge browser and type in the url : rdweb.wvd.microsoft.com/
      2. Please check if you are able to open the "Consent Page".
      3. Choose the option "Client App" from the list and
      4. Type in : "singotigmail.onmicrosoft.com" in the text box referring as "AAD Tenant GUID or Name:"
      5. Click on Submit
      6. Use this id : nags@singotigmail.onmicrosoft.com
      7. Choose the option "skip for now" when it prompts by saying "More information required"
      8. Click on "Accept" button in the "Permission requested page"
      9. Next step is to enter PWD.
Please do ping me on linked in chat and I would provide you PWD to try.
      Hope this helps,
      Happy learning
      regards

Can we deploy homegrown apps on the AVD?

    • @AzureLearn
      @AzureLearn  2 года назад +1

      Hi Milind,
      Thanks for checking..!
AVD can host multiple types of Windows applications. Microsoft recommends to prepare apps according to the type of app package being planned to deploy with.
MSIX is the recommended type of package for custom apps in Azure Virtual Desktop because they can take advantage of the service's built-in MSIX app attach feature.
To learn how to repackage existing Win32 applications in the MSIX format, visit Repackage your existing Win32 applications to the MSIX format.
      docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/application-management/msix-app-packaging-tool
I am sure you are not referring to Web apps. In case if you are referring to web apps : These apps run on a server, and don't run on the end user device. To use these apps, users must use a web browser and have internet access.
      Hope this helps,
      Regards

@@AzureLearn Thanks for the reply, actually we have few desktop apps that are hosted on Citrix desktops as of now. But we want to move those to AVD when we take these to cloud and replace Citrix.

    How much it cost?

    • @AzureLearn
      @AzureLearn  2 года назад

      Hi Parish, Greetings!
      Thanks for checking...
Azure Virtual Desktop pricing includes two parts:
      1. User access rights &
      2. Azure infrastructure costs
Since, Azure infra is configurable, cost would vary with the configurations we choose. Hence, would encourage you to Explore pricing options from the following link :
      azure.microsoft.com/en-us/pricing/details/virtual-desktop/
Apply filters to customize pricing options to your needs.
      Hope this helps,
      Regards,
