Couple of pointers Drae: -avoid doing quests (aka story missions) until you have some money saved up MOST of them do NOT pay you a dime so it costs you money. No sense in doing them if you literally don’t have money to begin with cuz it’ll run you into the red that much quicker. - the weigh stations (should be mass stations since space… but whatever) are only for measuring your truck cabin cargo (ie “loose” junk: unused batteries, UCC’s, gas cans, soda packs, etc), trailer or not changes nothing. -air filters should go into the two brackets CLOSEST to the oxygen machine (labeled L1 and R1 on the oxygen monitor screen, respectively). The ones closer to the windshields (the unlabeled ones on the monitor) are auxiliary and not having the first two occupied at all, staggered occupation (ie R1 and L2 as shown in your video), or just having one filter present SEVERELY decreases the life and efficiency of the filters. -air filters PART TWO. You NEED to prioritize getting all four filters in place, it greatly slows down the depreciation of the whole system other than the UCC which seems to be a fixed rate. -turn off the suit charger when not in use. cycle the old, almost dead batteries and not broken UCCs into it and the gravity generator. Theyre the most forgiving systems to utilize. And allows you to extract every dollars worth out of your gear when you’re constantly in a bind. - fuel part one. You don’t need to fill up full every time. I highly recommend against it until you have a nice sum of money saved up. Just buy a half tank or so at a time so you’re not dumping all the money you just earned right back into fuel. -fuel PART TWO. Pay close attention to prices. When some stations are higher but you desperately need fuel, it can actually be cheaper to buy a gas can or two from the store which gives 150 gallons each and you can sell the empty can back for like $20 (for example: 3.79 per gallon = $568 per 150 gallons versus 450 to 500 for a can that gives 150 gallons plus the empty can = 2.86 per gallon). Obviously the trick only works when the fuel price is astronomical and also only if the store sells gas cans. -fuel PART THREE: in wide open areas, make use of the driver assist OFF function, it greatly saves fuel. I can easily hit 90 miles over the advertised 57 (145km vs 92km, respectively) -some cargos are just NOT worth picking up. Such as the soda can packs. Even at full inflation, those suckers will only net you $13 with 100% health, it’s not worth the time to even grab them.
All awesome points and I didn't know about the air filter priority so I'm gonna adjust my strategy thanks dude. Oh 1 thing I would add is buy a fuel cannister and put it in the air lock it's saved my arse a few times 😁
too add to this, just turn off gravity. it is useless and wastes batteries. the crates can be wedged in the shelfs as long as you open them while there in there. i haven't had gravity on for most of my playthrough without a problem.
I used to turn off the suit station, but it doesn't drain batteries or UCC when it's fully charged, so no point really. Just puts an annoying red alert on the screen when it's turned off.
Hey Drae, if you will like to, doing Moon Baby's missions with eventually get you a horn upgrade where you can detect multiple salvage every time in any sector. ;)
Drae: 1> just put blower to low and temp to moderate it fine in all zone. 2> there is meter for the static when it reaches red it pop's 3> and when you plan a route at the map, it says how much fuel you gonna use and even 15 km fuel is too much. 4> and i do a trick grab a quick one stop job for money it generally gives $ 1200 and it takes like 10 km of fuel worth it. 5> and let the battery deplete upto 4%and sell it give most value don't replace when they are 35%. and loving series!!
to add to this, just turn off gravity. it is useless and wastes batteries. the crates can be wedged in the shelfs as long as you open them while there in there. i haven't had gravity on for most of my playthrough without a problem.
A multiplayer mode for this game could be setup the way real team truckers work, they'll work opposing shifts in order to double the productivity of the rig, one drives while the other sleeps, a mode where you share your rig and contracts with another person somewhere else in the world, so they can play while you sleep work go to school etc, and vice versa. And just like the real world, you have the chance of waking up to find your partner has wrecked your truck and set you back immeasurably.
you don't need suit charger running. you can charge your suit when you're docked at a shop for basically free. get the scanner upgrade from moon baby and the secret compartment from barrow. start scanning for salvage beacons and loot to your heart's content. you will have everything you need and more money than you know what to do with.
Drae is making this game look so damn hard. I don't know his Settings but I'm playing on the recommended setting and can comfortably keep all systems running and have a relaxed day.
Now mind you I acknowledge this game's difficulty, but I always pick up a job that's only one jump that's on the route to my next story objective so I can earn money while also advancing the story. Trust me, jobs with one jump always pay more in the long run. I made it to where I have 10,000 in the bank on Normal difficulty. I will be honest, most of the game is based on luck and timing.
Yup I started doing 5 jump hauls and I'm always broke. I was thinking about doing a 1 jump to a zone with a different pickup then do a 2 jump from there and always having a load no matter where I'm going
Obviously Drae is playing on hardcore difficulty this is a thing of what he does with every game he plays he always plays on the hardest difficulty there are four difficulty options: driver, recommended, mechanic, and hardcore But if I ever want to get into this game I would obviously go with driver which is the easiest difficulty I just want to enjoy the game and not get frustrated and rage quit I'm not into playing games on the hardest difficulty it's not because I have no skills I simply want to enjoy video games on the easiest difficulty I hope Star Trucker comes to consoles I would play the hell out of it just like elite dangerous and no man's sky including Train Sim World 😍
The more damage the items get the less value you get, you want to fix your truck so you can upgrade. if you pick the just-in-time delivery perk you unlock another quest for more upgrades, on one of them is a sensor for all the salvage in space...
when doing story missions, what I do is I make sure I'm never headed anywhere empty handed, if the story is sending me to Tanktown or Atlas Prime I always check the job board in the system I'm currently in to see if there is any freight I can haul in the direction the story wants to me to head.
I found the top of the cab external view is the best to avoid debris , just got to remember to go to the first person view every so often to check vitals
Change the tv channel on either side of your dashboad for different camera angles and different info. Also you only need 2 filters. Supposedly ypu can get away with just 1 but sometimes the o2 gets low so just use 2.
A large part of money making in this game is trading, relying just on doing the haul missions will always have you breaking even, but knowing when to buy commodities low and sell high in systems where they're in demand while also doing the hauling hustle can have you making twice as much, otherwise not really using your fuel efficiently. You have a huge amount of rack space so make use of it!
Sometimes Drae plays games to inspire us. Other times, Drae plays games so we don't have to. This is one of those times for me. I liked how he described it as one of the most hardcore survival games. This is totally not Euro Truck Sim in space lol.
Once you are gifted the scanner and you can use it to find lost items floating in space you will start getting tons of money. I don't even drive trailers anymore. I just search for goods. I fill my truck up with stuff then go sell it for $20k + at a time. Takes a while to fill your truck up but you find cells and air filters you really don't need to buy anything once you get that scanner. Just watch out some missions won't activate if you speed run to the scanner. It's a glitch. Moon Baby quest line gives you the scanner just fyi but you lose the last 4 of Dusty's quest because of that glitch. If you keep moving in sparky zones you will be fine. Once you stop the static builds
UCC got damaged cuz the hardcase was open while flying through a shock zone. They are shock sensitive. Also, hold onto goods and only sell them in zones with good prices, instead of selling wine for -90%(Come on Drae!) Air filters are General Goods, and buying them when the price is low in a zone makes all the difference. Probably the #1 thing you can do to save money. Also, this took me a while to notice, but when you zoom enough on the map, it'll tell you if the zone has a shop or a job board, so you don't waste power and fuel flying around to find a shop/board. This game's medium difficulty is way too hard. Sadly, I didn't realize this until I had gotten a few hours in. If you feel compelled to, I might suggest restarting with custom difficulty settings. You can give yourself up to $25,000 cash at the start, so you can mostly pick up where you left off, if you aren't too far into the game. My #1 gripe is that with only 1 air filter, for some reason the oxygen GENERATOR(that GENERATES oxygen) won't generate enough oxygen. Makes no sense, and I'd suggest changing oxygen consumption rates in the difficulty.
Never deadhead (run without a load) if you can help it, you don't get paid unless you have a load. Another saying in trucking is "if your wheels aren't turnin', then you aren't earnin'." Though I'm the case of this game thrusters would replace wheels and burnin' would replace turnin'
Drae's struggle in startrucker is always amusing to see.. and today we get 40 min of it. Thank you! ps. Drae dont read the hints people give, you are much more fun when struggeling =D
Second content creator I have watched that has similar issues. Game is either not forgiving enough or the economy needs to be adjusted, that space junk seems to net more funds than jobs seems out of balance.
To be fair, with breathing exercises its possible to lower your heart rate to a really low bpm like 40 and purposefully induce bradycardia, and likewise with the right breathing pattern you can accelerate your heart rate to over 120 without doing warmup, like for being prepared to bolt off the line in a sprint race or when you know you're about to get into a fight and want to be in the zone to stand your ground. Likewise, with proper breathing exercises and following daily routines, you can raise the amount of oxygen your blood carries and train your body to work more efficiently, and also train your heart to beat stronger so it can maintain a lower bpm and thus a higher efficiency as well. This way, you can hold your breath for longer and use less oxygen in the process of doing things, especially since in this game it appears that the EVA suit is a power-assisted one, so if your character learns to lower their bpm and trains to raise their blood oxygen through endurance training and routine breathing exercises, they consume less oxygen overall and rely more upon the EVA suit's existing power-assisted limb motion, thus overall using less oxygen. Of course, in game you just spend a perk point and suddenly you're now trained for that, but that's just gaming things XD
I love seeing you play this game so i got the game for myself and after playing a while i was thinking to myself why is drae struggling so hard this game is easy than immediatley crashed full speed into a building also if you look up while in the seat you will find vuttons to stop and choke the engines also a horn lever with you totaly need to try !Gl on youre space adventures.
You need to do moon baby story. You get a scanner after like the 4th mission. After that you can scan for salvage and it becomes way easier. You get more from selling the salvage than you do delivering trailers. I've got 150,000 in cash now because of salvage
I love the longer episodes. I miss the old days of 45 min to 1+ hour videos. I understand the reasoning, but this has been great, and I am loving this game!
Hey drae iv been playing the game for little bit and if you turn off all your lights and put all your loose items other then your boxes that you put your battery’s and stuff in which you can open to make them stay in place
Hey Drae....Some more pointers for my fellow Canadian. First, if one of your filters go, just take it out. Its okay if you only one filter, just as long as its not use up. The filter just means you'll use less battery power to build up the oxygen. Next....Shock Pods. Don't open that shutter without flipping the breaker first. That's why you popped one. As for Shock zones...STOP DRIVING THROUGHT THE ELECTRICAL STORMS lol. Go around the outer edge and you wont pop a pod. I'm LvL19 and haven't popped on yet. FUEL.... You don't have to fill the truck all the way up. Check your map....if you're in a zone that has expensive fuel and you're desperate, just fill up enough to get to a zone with cheap fuel (Button that starts the fueling also stops it) But Buddy.... Buuuuuuuuddy. You had a fuel can....with fuel. Fuel tank is on the bottom of the truck. LOL. Good luck trucking, eh. I'll catch you on the next video...Loving it
Ahh this video can't come at a better time on a sunday, i was a tad down BUT hearing the voice of "GOD" made my day again. BTW the voice of god meaning the warm, nice voice of Drae
hey Drae! If you are really struggling for cash you can unlock the horn scanner through the moon baby quest line, with this you can scan for salvage beacons around each sector, there is around 6-10 different beacons in each area so if you just stay within the zones that have no illegal items you can almost farm it, after like 20 mins spent I found I was getting anywhere from 10-25k. Plus you can take hauling jobs while traveling between sectors as this is what will give you levels! Hope this helps🙌🙌
This reminds me of the world.of cowboy Bebop.. ship/ truck is constantly falling apart barely enough money to eat haha. Difference is your a trucker not a bounty hunter
SPAAACE DRAE!!! I am LOVING this series. And all you guys with pointers, much appreciated - truly, but seriously I could just watch Drae smash into space junk for 2 hours and be just as happy. LOL
It’s totally worth it and in my opinion solar areas are a lot easier to work with. Blast your A/C and close the shades, start using your panels from the left and right of you and set them top and bottom outside cam so you can start getting use to flying around with those extra eyes.
This game looks amazing and seems fun. However unless they make money easier or things cheaper I am not playing. Poor Drae is struggling way too much with money. It seems like the game isn't fun if the entire game is a constant struggle. What is the purpose of making everything so hard. I don't mind a challenge but this seems ridiculous. Guess this is like real life for most of us who barely get by in life. We watch these rich 1% take and take and complain about stupid things. While we struggle to take a vacation or eat or get ahead in life. I play games to escape my crappy life not play it in a game.
If you focus on quests you don't make much money, you have to do deliveries outside of the main quests to make more money. He just focuses on the quests a bit too much
You can customise the settings when you make a new game to change things like, take less damage when colliding with something, use premium fuel instead of regular fuel, costs more but lasts longer, start with more money, and increase/decrease prices of sellable items, ect.
Also, I love Drae, but he drives across the debris field in the interest of speed and when he has to pay a damaged goods fine he's shooting himself in the foot 🤣 poor basterd
Good to know thanks for the information. However unless the RUclipsr explains the settings at the start us the consumer would have no idea. Hopefully people read your reply and see that this game has a ton of pregame settings. But from what he has shown us and how he plays this game seems extremely annoying. It looks amazing and it seems like a super fun game. But from what I have seen from Drae it just looks very micro managy and like you never get ahead. However I do notice Drae plays games differently than most people do. He tends to like screwing up and not paying attention 80% of the time. He embodies the American ADHD adult. Which I am guessing most of us can relate to. Well thanks for the replies and I look forward to more insanity that is Drae.
Drea this is an amazing game I cant wait till I get it and see if its as hard to play as you're making it look. I'll have a leg up on you though, seeing all the mistakes you've made now i wont have to make the same ones. you're doing great though, its funny to watch you mess up but, it's rewarding to see you finally figure one out!
I love playing this game but I wish there were more control options like using WASD keys to move is really annoying I rather it go off mouse usage and then use alt or shift to look in the keyboard idk something more like space engineers or something
As I sed in the last video. Drae needs to explore more and find loots and other things. Focusing on transport only won't earn enough money. And he really needs to manage the power more and conserve a system he doesn't need. Use only nessesery systems.
Never run from zone to zone unloaded your wasting fuel and probably all those fuel cells for nothing. Its weird that pulling doubkes and triples doesnt run you more money though
Some "just in time" jobs suck .. you have to be there at a certain time but if your early then you have to wait IN REAL TIME ( as in your computer clock time) for the delivery time to come up.. I got to a drop off 20 mins early .. I went off and made lunch and a coffee and still had time to wait.. they really have to put a fast forward time thing in the game. Thanks for the adventure Drae.. it's fun to watch you.
I think if you do not repair your truck. It will deplete everything faster. That is why you are buying lots of things all the time and can't save cash.
Selling batteries with 1 power left is worth about $100 more. Also please don't drop them on the ground.. that hurt me to see. You can use the corner of the railing upstairs if needing to sit something down up there.
Couple of pointers Drae:
-avoid doing quests (aka story missions) until you have some money saved up MOST of them do NOT pay you a dime so it costs you money.

Obviously the trick only works when the fuel price is astronomical and also only if the store sells gas cans.
-fuel PART THREE: in wide open areas, make use of the driver assist OFF function, it greatly saves fuel. I can easily hit 90 miles over the advertised 57 (145km vs 92km, respectively)

Oh 1 thing I would add is buy a fuel cannister and put it in the air lock it's saved my arse a few times 😁

Hell yeah 40 minutes of watching Drae's incompetence is the perfect way to end my night! Love the longer vids for games like this
Use your monitors on your truck while driving in first person, front cam and side cam etc. awesome game play absolutely adore this game.

Drae seems to not notice the hull breach in the tank he's hauling 😂. Probably a good thing to repair it.
I was surprised he didn't got fined for the spillage

Drae, you can always buy necessities, so whenever they are cheap, buy them all. Then you can also sell extras when the price is high.

Hey drae iv been playing the game for little bit and if you turn off all your lights and put all your loose items other then your boxes that you put your battery’s and stuff in which you can open to make them stay in place
that was awesome, cant wait for more episodes
2:29 Uncle Roger probably ordered that container full of MSG 🤣
Ay another uncle Roger watcher

I think hitting debris also degrades the installed components. Drop component on the bed to keep from damaging them.
The weigh station is only checking you cabin, making sure you're not overloading what you're carrying on board in the cab.
I'll catch you on the next video...Loving it
i think the videogame provides radio music for a reason, because when the station is dead u can listen to relaxing music
You got only $60 and $1 because you sold them with 0 hp. Basically you sold them just the cans and some broken glass 😂
Ahh this video can't come at a better time on a sunday, i was a tad down BUT hearing the voice of "GOD" made my day again. BTW the voice of god meaning the warm, nice voice of Drae
Tip: You can take a container with you to collect salvage in space so you don’t have to make multiple trips
"Can I get a break please?!?"
Pretty sure you just did, Drae. You broke your hull.
I tried playing this multiple times but quit every time lol. It’s so frustrating. Glad I can watch you play it lol
assh*ole owes me 32 bucks for this POS game...glitchy POS
Long haul. Fragile. Heavy. All have xp bonuses. So they may not pay the most but you earn more bonus xp than the generic.
drae personality with star trucker is the best combo to watch lmaoo
Yep that's fine with it
❤ always a good video with drae
I think the job board doesn't calculate the bonus for specialise job and don't forget you gain a bonus in XP too
There's a bug with the job specializations where it's awarding the bonus cash as XP instead
Woho!! more space Drae!!!!
We love you Drae
Notes for drae:
You had gravity off meaning every single thing floating lost all its HP and made everything you transported useless.
SPAAACE DRAE!!! I am LOVING this series.
And all you guys with pointers, much appreciated - truly, but seriously I could just watch Drae smash into space junk for 2 hours and be just as happy. LOL
Finally!!! Another episode 😃
Moon baby is where you want to work on. Get that upgrade it will change everything
Gotta unlock the solar area and basically do sour candy's entire beginning mission line
It’s totally worth it and in my opinion solar areas are a lot easier to work with. Blast your A/C and close the shades, start using your panels from the left and right of you and set them top and bottom outside cam so you can start getting use to flying around with those extra eyes.
Looks brutal but fun!
Fun premise of a game but I’ll be passing it up. Looks way harder than it needs to be.
Shut your gravity off and charge your suit and then shut that off to ...I'm so broke in this game about to get repossessed
Everyone hates them but just in time missions. I'm on hardcore and I rely solely on them to keep me alive. Level 8 and kicking
You should probably play around with the settings so stuff doesn't decay as fast or run out as fast
You’d hate Elden ring
Dont give up your day job Drae😂
Why is there a weigh station? Space is weightless!!! This game is hillarious! But so good, so fucking good…
You're truck will short out and you'll have to turn on all the breakers plus your trailer will disconnect when your breakers short out etc.
Babe wake up, another Drae space truck video
65 outside Drae puts it on COLD
150 outside Drae puts it on WARM
Drae: IDK WHY THIS IS SO HARD!!!!
One important thing is the hull. Ceep it undamaged helps with the airfilter problem he has.
The truck weight is just what you have in the cab not what you are pulling.
Dang 21 seconds ago, ive never been that came that fast too a video. Also cool vid as always!
The price of air filters is diabolical
I haven’t use gravity from the moment I started the game. Would feel weird having it on now.
YAY MY FAVORITE RUclipsR POSTED
The lack of air filters or only one for sale is a pain in the ass stff like that should be in plenty full supply
Never run from zone to zone unloaded your wasting fuel and probably all those fuel cells for nothing. Its weird that pulling doubkes and triples doesnt run you more money though
More!!!!!startrucker
You should collect stuff lying around..
Did you seriously just set the air con to warm in 150f/65c degree temperature..? That’s so damn hot!
First, i love your videos greetings from Serbia❤️🇷🇸
I was gonna play this game, but I got enough stress in my life. I don't need virtual stress!
There is literally a bed right there! Why won't they let you take a nap?
I mean i love watching drea struggle but man at what point do you just change the difuculty lol
Drae, the classifications act as bonuses towards your net total. I don't believe the payouts reflect this
Video 2 trying to get drae to use the screens like there intended giving him more info that he desperately needs
Having gravity off will destroy anything not in a case, that’s why you got no money for the wine
You Are Legend 🎮
Drae running into every bit of debris, smashing holes in cargo loads, and wonders why precious cargo jobs wont pay him better..
Space Drae isn't real he can't hurt you
They are just weighing the cab to ensure you're not hoarding
I think if you do not repair your truck. It will deplete everything faster. That is why you are buying lots of things all the time and can't save cash.
Selling batteries with 1 power left is worth about $100 more. Also please don't drop them on the ground.. that hurt me to see. You can use the corner of the railing upstairs if needing to sit something down up there.
A 40 MINUTE VIDEO BY DRAE???!?! WHAT??!?!
Yeah magic!
