Not sure how the METAS certification was left out of this podcast.
This was a very interesting episode but I feel like we should get a part 2. There are several things I would like more insight about from an actual watchmaker. For example how does omegas 'metas' and jlc own '1000 h master control' compare with the cosc standard? What does the standard magnetic and shock protection protect against in real life? Sinn have also created the DIN (German version of ISO) 8330 standard which is meant to be like the pilot watch version of the dive certification standard which I find is kind of odd that there haven't been one until now.
Yeh, do that!!!
This channel is for real watch nerds. Other channels is for consumers looking to get some info for a watch they wanna buy.
I'll take that as a compliment. We're just getting started.
@@roadstoriespodcast9804 It is. This is not just another "watch review" channel.
So I really want to buy a Weiss watch. But I'm not sure if it is pronounced weese or wise or wize. So I'm afraid to express my interest in it cause I don't want to be shamed for pronouncing it wrong
shane lewis I see what you did there.
@@roadstoriespodcast9804 thank you😁
Awesome the show is back
I have been hoping that you Cameron would be back with more episodes, can't wait to watch this!!!!
QUARTZ GANG! ASSEMBLE! Always stay +/- 0.7 seconds baby!
B-b-back! So pleasing to my soul. Thank you for doing this. Also, just a thought - if you do a single Weiss watch giveaway people will engage like crazy
Ohhh yes the show of shows is back. Absolutely love it! Great to see a familiar face and a new one.
I enjoy the tone in both you guys' voice.
The subjects are very informative.
Keep it up!
You guys are awesome..enjoying the show
Any chance of needing out on the patent landscape in wristwatches? What’s the business reality on this topic for micro brands looking to in-house the whole shebang, for example.
Interesting episode, I learned something!
I am very intrigued by the finishing specifications of the Geneva Seal. So specific! It would be great to see an episode about the different finishes and finishing techniques that go into decorating movements.. and cases and dials for that matter. Keep up the great work guys!
Jesus christ they took an interesting podcast (despite lead by the at times, ignorant, matt) and made it such a dull thing.... sad.
RUN CNC!
I was wondering if you guys could do a segment on Baume et Mercier, i don't think you talked about them in the first season.
S3V3N13TT3R5 anything specific you want us to talk about?
Road Stories Podcast at a guess.. origins, noteworthy models and tech/innovatons, market position etc.
Wirenfeldt1990 I’ll put it down on the list. We’ll see if we can do a full episode on them.
Road Stories Podcast they make their own movement which for a fairly affordable swiss watch is pretty awesome and theyre cosc certified
excellent knowledge ,thank you i did learn something about watches now
This show certainly lives up to the title Watch and Listen. Very interesting and educational.
Another great episode. I think they should have also mentioned METAS certification.
hey Jack, the problem with METAS is that they still have to go through COSC certification. On top of that, Omega didn't/still isn't doing a very good job marketing it. Much like the co-axial.
Guys, love the fact that you are back, but please do some research more carefully. Better homework, better content!
Just out of curiosity, but what were some things stated that were left out or inaccurate?
My guess is when you ask Cameron questions and he's not sure of the answers. Maybe do a run those by him ahead of time?
@@theJade Rolex doesn't do COSC anymore for one. Everything is internally certified.
@@theJade One example is that COSC certification of Auto watches is done with the auto works removed, not on a winder. There were several other mistakes, but that one stood out.
Hmm. The Swiss say that "Swiss Made" label means more than 60% of the watch's value must be from switzerland. Let's see if in 2020 the swiss watch industry will be at least 60% unaffected by the manufacturing interruptions in China...
Matt 2.0 struggling with this one... It's ok hahaha. Cameron is way more used to running this podcast after season 1 and that's cool. Also, my neck hurts 😂
Also the RUN CNC sticker is fire
Also also, just sit on the corner at 90°
KasumovReacts we had some technical difficulties with the first two episodes so the next episodes will be set up with cameron and I on opposite ends. And yes, neck pain was real after this one 😬
so long story short; COSC certification not worth the dials they are printed on..
Sam Lowry yes and no. Depends on how much you value accuracy. It’s still an achievement to get a movement to that level.
No love for Omega and METAS certification?
Kevin Duncan METAS is impressive, no doubt, but Omega tends to be a bit unsuccessful at marketing their ability and greatness. Think about how amazing the co-axial is, and how little people know about it. Kind of sort of the same deal with METAS.
@@roadstoriespodcast9804 True but still I feel like it should be covered.
Amazing to hear you! So knowledgeable.
No editing, boring.
