    @cameron can we please remove Mike from this podcast? He really is clueless about watches and makes me NOT want to watch anymore of Watch&listen podcasts. Annoyingly I've had to unsubscribe from this channel, since unlike Matt, Mike brings a distasteful mindset to the podcast

    Top right guy need to be removed, he knows nothing about watches. The two other dudes, especially Cameron is great.

      I miss Matt so much. I wouldn't be bothering with this podcast anymore if Cameron wasn't involved. He's the best. Great guest this time around too. I'm a big fan of Nathan's.

    Top right guy is obviously not a watch enthusiast, but rather a watch fan boy. Good video! keep them coming :)

      Exactly my thought, how can you not know about spring drive. Kind of pissing me off watching him talk. Also, can't trust any "watch enthusiast" who likes Hublot

      isn't that not an enthusiast though? We all buy watches for different reasons. liking a brand for the brand is just as valid as liking a brand for the technology. It's not like any of these watches are inaccurate enough for it to matter. If your life really depends on accuracy and durability we'd all just wear g-shocks. Me? My interest is in the aesthetics and the history. I have a particular aesthetic preference, but I also like watches that "mattered". So I have some silly color Skagens that I love for that bold minimalist look, but I also have a Nivada Antarctic (1st gen), because the history of the 1957 geophysical year and operation deep freeze is just super cool to me. Next on the list is an A404, because Everest. And because 1016s are expensive AF.
      My preference for the first (looks) isn't any less valid than my geeking over the sun browned radium dials of the second. they're valid preferences with valid reasons. Having more esoteric preferences doesn't make them more valuable.

    Thank you, Cameron, for calling Mike out for the silly bias he's adopted towards the brand with the crown. That combined with his cringeworthy comments about Grand Seiko still being just a Seiko (which really makes me wonder about his opinion of Credor), it would be unbearable if not for your pointed responses. This is how I'm going to enjoy the show on from now on, listening to you constantly correct Mike's ignorant statements.

    Boy, these have unfortunately been getting harder to watch as the chemistry is just not there anymore (lets face it the Zoom format certainly doesn't help either)....Time to take a pause to prepare better and retool the show........Call me when Matt comes back and Cameron is a tad bit less salty about being there.

    If you disregard value retention, there are a lot of brands which are just as great as Rolex. I've gone from three Rolex in my collection to just one and couldn't be happier with those decisions.

    The Spring Drive movement is a marvel of engineering. I'm a watchmaker. Ask me about how the spring drive works I'll give you a very excited 25 minutes of fun and interesting facts. Your trusted watchmaker was afraid to speak about it.....(from lack of knowledge?)
    And then he says it has a hairspring????
    Time for a real watchmaker please

    What about tudor black bay gmt ?

  • @brandonshriver6448
    @brandonshriver6448 3 года назад

    OK, I'm a little confused on the GMT section where Cameron mentions changing the main time zone to be your "current" time zone with the GMT time zone set to your "home" time zone. I thought the traditional method was that the main display was always on "home" with the GMT hand set to GMT, then you rotate the bezel to your current time zone offset from GMT. This way you never have to adjust anything, just rotate the bezel as needed. Also, this would seem to negate the advantage to a "true" GMT.

    First. Great discussion. I agree with those who do not like the Daytona dial...I have a vintage Navitimer and it still is more legible. My Seamaster 321 Chrono is very very legible and much more reas. priced. I agree with Cameron re the look of the Breguet, but have tried one on and it is too thick for me. I would not wear a Hublot even if it was $500. The Zenith El Primero is much more wearable and something like 12mm thick.
