you have taken the engine apart so it is normal for it to still smoke in the beginning. if you go for a drive and everything has been up to temperature it should be gone, otherwise it could be a leak or something. but I think it's just because there is still oil in places due to the rebuild that still has to burn.
On top of which, it looks it is cold out at the time of the drive based on the closes he is wearing. What smoke there might be from the rebuild would be looking worse than normal due to watervaper. (Ie cold weather breath effect)
That is only running on 2 cylinders , disconnect the coils 1 at a time while its running to see which 1 it is , swap the coil to another cylinder to see if the missfire moves ,usually dead coil after an overheated engine , missfire will cause smoking exhaust , also bound to have water left in the exhaust from when it went wrong in the first place
Interesting, would it not throw a misfire code though? I’m surprised it would even run on two given than it wouldn’t start with a blown head gasket. I will definitely try it though bud thank you 👍🏻 someone at work mentioned water in the exhaust too, it’s been over a year mind and I’m not sure if there’s even any silencers in the horrible thing 🙈 but here’s hoping it’s something like that, or internal damage to the turbo, coolant getting into the exhaust? 🤷🏻♂️
@@MendItModIt It could well be one of the coil packs for some reason the fords don’t always throw a code for stuff like this I’ve got a mk6 st and it was misfiring but never threw a code for it turned out to be a HT lead breaking down also once you’ve sorted out the misfire I’d recommend taking it for a run as the ecu needs to learn the new parameters of different components. Love the vids keep up the great work!❤️
@@harryedwards5999 thank you for the advice my man, I will definitely do some digging and see what I can find out 🤜🏻🤛🏻
@@MendItModIt Just recently had the same thing but was a dead spark plug , no management light
@@peterfox6256 so strange, but fingers crossed it is something like that 🤞🏻 I did change the plugs but here’s hoping it’s a coil! I know of of the plugs doesn’t click in properly but the last time I pulled that off it did throw a code, I’ll give it a good going over this weekend, thank you mate, much appreciated 🙏🏻
Glad to see you back! Quality is even better, great work!
Keep up the great work lad! Love the vids and the passion you have for the things you are working on!
So proud of how hard you’ve worked on this 💜 I know you will figure it out!
Well done. Really inspirational. Awesome.
Good to see a new video! 👌
Respect to you having a go at this pain of an engine. I've been in the trade for 40 years and never come across such a bad engine. Have you tried disconnecting one coil at a time to see which cylinder is down? Then swap coils and see if fault moves. Might be worth another compression test just so you know where you stand. Smoke could be coolant from previous failure inside the exhaust, unless it's using fresh coolant. Been where you are now plenty of times and it's what makes us stronger. Ignore the negative stuff
Gutted for ya mate keep your chin up will sorted some thing out I am sure 👍 keep up the good work 👏
Love the new cam but credit to you on shooting all your past stuff with the iPhone it still looked great!
Ánimo. Has hecho un gran trabajo. Great work.
Siente muy orgulloso pore ello.Felicitaciones. El humo blanco sin olor, puede indicar fuga de refrigerante. A por el nuevo reto. Adelante !!!
Carrying on where you left off with another great video! Hopefully the smoke is an easy fix
Hopefully the smoke isn’t anything major to fix. You’ve come far with this don’t give up now mate the projects nearly finished🙏🏽 soon be on the road again
Definitely sounds like it’s running on 2 cylinders the smoke could be unburnt fuel
All the best buddy I’ve got my fingers crossed for you and can’t wait to see the next vid 👍
Been waiting for the update for time
Hey Bro, very nice series, and keep your head up. I know you did a lot on this, and my question is once you had the cylinder head done, did you re-measure the valve tappets? Because once that head is redone (valves, seals, etc), it WILL throw off the valve lift and close. I hope you figure this out, and be sure to keep us posted.
Recently priced a clutch kit at Ford (Parts Plus) and trade was around £105+vat.
Hope the smoking is something easy to sort. 🙏
Good video, very informative.
Shouldn’t shake, the engines are externally balanced, I have one 2015 from new. Done remember if you changed the injectors. If no luck get yourself one of those OBD readers, do you have a check engine light.your doing a great job, I’m installing a turbo smart BOV today. I can understand blue smoke, but white smoke could be turbo or coolant intrusion
Chin up ,remember the pleasure you give us being able to watch your videos
Keep your chin up mate you will sort it in the end. At the end of the day it was also a learning curve for you. So it wasn't all a waste
I’ve got a mk7.5 fiesta and had an issue with my clutch master cylinder pretty much the same as this no fluid going through which meant nothing happened when I pressed the clutch but it was such an intermittent fault
I had the same on an alfa romeo 147. The smoke was the exhaust. Changed it and solved it.
Nice one, well done on the clutch work! Shame about that nasty surprise at the end though. Need to replace my master cylinder on my ST150, where did you get your vacuum bleeder from?
Just a heads up you had a nice clutch blender there in your hands that pump up sprayer you and force brake fluid up from the bottom to push all the air out works better then anything I’ve tried
I've watched every one of your vids over the last two days. I really do appreciate your approach and commitment, so my thanks for all your work and efforts to put it out there. I'm trying to decide which way to go, having exactly the same issues on a Focus
( initially front end hit, damaged 12v aux turbo cooling pump, front end rebuild etc etc.
I can say, that it's steam not smoke! ... so really sorry to see that btw, after so much effort (and honesty)...
So Did you vacuum fill and bleed the coolant? ie not just fill it and top it up with a funnel etc?
Also, (if you're still speaking to me), did you ever add up the total cost including tools and equipment to do the whole engine rebuild (including the clutch)?
I'd run it for a bit and give it a drive. What was air temp when you filmed that and is it on a stainless exhaust? I've got the same car but a red one love it
Chin up. Still a great achievement!
it sounds like its running on two cylinders to me tbh. I have the 3 cylinder ST and when cylinder deactivation come on, its very similar to what yours sounds like. it might be something in the ECU making it run on two, or might be a different problem. Or it might not be running on two at all, god knows
@Mend it Mod it sounds like its running on 2 cylinders could be a bad coil. white smoke is normal after a new rebuild give it a few heat cycles for the piston rings to sit and seals to harden hope this helps.
Hi if you se this can you help me because when I turn the car off and I put my head under the car I can hear something like a drop heating something metal
It could be eco without the boost mate 🐌😅Just go and finish the great job you started! Greetings from Serbia.
Great series I've noticed that people keep mentioning that the engine is only running on 2 cylinders these engines have the ability to disengage Number 1 cylinder via a solenoid to save fuel when running under light load. Hope you get it sorted
I dont think they had cylinder deactivation on the mk7/gen 1 ecoboost the newer gen with timing chain on mk8/focus mk4 has it
Tbh in my opinion I would leave it to just get up to temperature the smoke should clear up. I would say it was more water vapor than smoke.
After some advise about a mk7 1.0 ecoboost. Driving along and car just starts kangarooing so pulled over and tried to set off again and still kangarooing .managed to get her home but anything above 2k revs just kangarooing again in every gear .had to change gears earlier to crawl home.anyone had this issie.cheers.
Hello, where i can found the clock mod for the fiesta mk6
Not a mechanic, but maybe its smoking because of old petrol? My moms motorcycle smoked similarly after sitting for almost a year. It stopped after getting new fuel and a bit of driving though.
Hello mate I'm Johnno the white smoke. Could be a piston ring worn out have it checked just to make sure
That engine is toast mate knowing them engines I say its leaking water into cycleders through cracked liners
Keeping my fingers crossed that the smoke is condensation due to cold weather and the engine either not being run or repeated starts and stops. Really loving watching your journey with this car, don’t give up and keep on with the awesome content 👍
Where did you get the bolt on eye that you use to attach chain to gearbox please
I can’t remember man but probably on eBay or Amazon, from memory I think it’s an M12 but I’m not 100% sure
Check your injectors make sure they are all ok as they could be the cause of the miss fire
Hi mate I was just wondering where do you learn these tightening measurements like a manual or something, where abouts did you get yours, I’m replacing my engine next week 😂
Haynes manual matey, check out their website, cover a lot major makes and models and very reasonably priced
@@MendItModIt thanks boss man life saver
Cut your losses Mike and get a used engine to put in it, you know the ins and outs of swapping it over now so shouldn't take long!
Audio and camera quality is cracking. Head up mate live and learn hopefully all will be good and you get some more great videos out now
I hate to be the person that tells you this but I think you have coolant getting into one of the cylinders which is why you have a rough running engine and quite a bit of white smoke. Just for reference if it was oil then the smole would be blue. I think you should do a pressure test on the coolant system and maybe use a camera to look into the cylinders and look for signs of coolant. I am sorry that it turned out this way for you but on the bright side you have made a really great video series for people to view. Best of luck I hope I am wrong. Regards Karl
Try changing the oil pump should sort out the problem
Oil pump was good my friend, was all in an earlier video
Hi bud I'm all the way in south Africa Cape Town and I have a ST150, I love your back badge and hoping you could help to get me1... big fan of your fiesta st150
I got it from a company called AM Plates on Instagram but I don’t think they are still trading, a few people have asked recently. I’m sorry it’s not better news 😢
@@MendItModIt no problem thanks so much.. but really mad respect for the work you put in, and your car is amazing
New release bearing ??
Part of the slave cylinder
The level of condensation leads me to believe the cylinder head is cracked, most probably because it has been overheated previously.
should have been pressure tested before resurfacing.
The usually due to head gasket
been watching the series a while, shame to see the white smoke hope isn't it much.
Stop panicking give it good run out and if don't get beter it miet be a fresh turbo m8 before run out check oil level good and check wen back that tell you if it's burning it
Had a ecoboost on finance 2 years ago 11k all in at the time. Got it to 200bhp fully modified out its tits still got all the pics on my insta but blew 3 of the ib5 chocolate gearboxes and clutches. Eventually i just stripped it n left it on my drive cancelled the finance n let the insurance come take it away.
Ended up with 20k of debt in the end just paid it off there😅the 1.6 st is the way to go in the long run
