    I love these films😊. All charakteres are wonderful. And I think the new version of "All creatures Great and Small" is better than the first version. Siegfried is more empathic and Ms Hall is younger and very likeable and friendly. She is a part of the family and she manages the relationship between Tristan and Siegfried . I love her wisdom and empathy.

    Really looking forward to the new series starting, in the Autumn. Didn't think the re-boot would be as-good-as the original but it is!

    Grassington lends itself to being filmed in the past very well.

    I notice that the post box behind the car says E:R. I also notice that Rachel Shenton is very, very cute.

      The Post Box isn't real. Put there just for filming!

      Think you might be referring to one lower down which is rectangular and is real but not used in the scene. Only top part of Grassington Market Square is 'dressed' for filming. The circular fake box at the top does have the King's crown on it! Hope this helps.

    • @Kevin-mx1vi
      @Kevin-mx1vi Год назад +1

      @@PeterEllwood That's the one. They *have* dressed the shop next to it on the right, but not the wine shop on the left, so I assume they'll have to be careful to keep the postbox out of shot.

      @@PeterEllwood The one with E:R on it ? For a series set in the 1930's ?

    • @PeterEllwood
      @PeterEllwood  Год назад +1

      @@Kevin-mx1vi That box is well out of shot. The episode 2 (series 3) shows James and Helen returning to Skeldale after honeymoon. It shows the Rover at the top of Market sq for about 4 seconds. The ER box is no where near the short sequence filmed at the top. This is where actors Nicholas and Rachel set off from for filming. They did about 7 or 8 takes each time Nich Ralph would reverse back down the hill near to where the ER box. The shop on the right was not dressed, its always like that! As I said the circular box at the top which is in the scene is placed there as a orop and does have the King's crown on it!

    I'm going to guess that the roadster doesn't have a Synchromesh transmission. Nicholas better practice his heel and toe shifting!

      I believe it is a 1935 Rover 12 Tourer (HS 8245). You can google it. There is a website that identifies the vehicles used in the programme.

    The only person in this series I don't like is Tristan. He's so arrogant and pretends to be better than he is.

    • @joeherleth9274
      @joeherleth9274 2 года назад +3

      That's the role that Tristan plays from the All Creatures Series. The Tristan from the last series, years ago, was really arrogant. This Tristan plays it fairly mild, I thought so anyway. Great Series, looking forward to it again.

    • @kensellers4082

      The original Tristan could be a real “unit.” I remember an episode where James takes Helen to an expensive restaurant for dinner and they’re having a great time. And, then Tristan calls the restaurant, pretending to be a farmer, who needs James desperately to save one of his farm animals, thereby ruining James and Helen’s extremely enjoyable evening together.
      I think James eventually “repays” Tristan’s “kindness.”

      I love Tristan, he's my favourite character, James is my next, then siegfried, though they're all very good. I find Helen bossy, I don't know what James sees in her actually.
