@Fred Slice Acts 4 Peter and John were told not to speak in the name of Jesus Christ. Jesus is the only name given under heaven with which we must be saved. That is in the bible. Well the next day Peter and John spoke in the name of Jesus again. They were put into jail. There are instances that we are to obey the Lord over the Government, even if we end up in jail.
Yes, we are commanded to respect those in authority, but the end line is when those in charge try to go against the Lord's word itself. The bible does set limits.

If not J Mac’s ministry I would continue my trip going away from God. Several years ago God used his gift of teaching to reach me. God in His grace led me to Grace To You ministry to shake me, put back on track and equip me. We need more Bible teachers like John MacArthur.

I believe he’s absolutely making choices that are biblically/scripturally based, as does he. You’re welcome to listen to his reasoning and come to your own conclusions. Thankfully your opinion or mine doesn’t affect what John MacArthur receives from God and what he does with that information.
We must stand for Scripture. In a world where morals are quite literally upside down, Christ is the only Light.

@Fred Slice what do you say about the apostles, most of which were martyred for their faith. Clearly, they stood against their government at that time. What about Daniel, what about Moses? Our Government is not a God serving government. Depending on your opinion, you could say in fact our government is against God and is furthering an agenda that will ultimately lead to a "beast system". When do we chose to say enough is enough.
Yes, I definitely would stand with this pastor. I’ve loved him since I was a little girl, and I’ve never gotten that horrible, run away, feeling you get when you hear most of the preachers out here. I’m a preacher’s kid, and my parents acted one way at home, and one way behind the pulpit. My dad actually allowed my mother to preach, and I hated growing up there. Listening to that man gave me hope through the darkest times of my life, as a child who grew up in a home that threw Jesus’s name around, but never lived up to what they said. So God bless you, Pastor Maccarthor. Much love from a 42-year-old, scared, little blind girl, who grew up in a house that cared more about their church, rather than His! May the Lord richly bless you for this.

Fred Slice How dare you question fellow Christians faith in Christ. The early church defied the Government’s (Caesar) laws, and died for their faith. They congregated together, and worshiped Jesus Christ against Caesar’s orders. The early church died because they refused to declare Caesar as Lord, and faced the hungry lions, or were used as “Roman candles” to light the night time streets. So as we are called to respect are leaders because they were appointed by God, at times we are to stand up against our oppressors, and worship our Lord together. Every day I am thankful that my father played Johns Sermons in the car in our home all the time...I learned the Word of God and have become a mature Christina...and I have seen my friends fall because they did not have sound teaching. Thank you, Justin Peters, for expressing so well what I would want to express to John MacArthur. His teaching is a beacon of LIGHT in my life. I watch his sermons online, I read his books, and I read many commentaries on his church's website. He is an inspiration in many ways! I am grieved that some Christian leaders have basically unfriended him and failed to be supportive. I stand with John and all men like him, unfortunately there are very few like him left teaching truth. Things are changing quickly in this world and soon I believe we will be seeing true Christians being called evil and evil as good.
@Fred Slice You can bow to ceasar, while Christians who understand what's going on stand with godly men whose chief desire is to obey Jesus. I was feeling quite down about this knowing that anytime churches could be closed down again. Pastor John and the elders of Grace church have been a tremendous encouragement to me.
The virus is being used for political reasons and control and not only churches but other areas need to speak up or lose their freedoms, maybe slowly, piece by piece but it will happen.
We are in a post-Christian era where Christianity is hated and nothing would suit some leaders than to wipe it out forever. We are at the stage now that we cannot lose any ground whatsoever, so while many churches are joining in with the government, many out of ignorance, many out of cowardice, others because they are wolves, I rejoice for the many who bow to Jesus only.
This has given me a renewed love for the church, and I'm sure I'm not the only one.
@Fred Slice tell that to the Christian Martyrs in Rome 2000 years ago. Tell that to the Apostle Peter who defied the Sanhedrin, refusing to stop preaching Jesus in the temple. So many other examples. You are taking scripture out of context, for one thing.

I greatly appreciate John MacArthur and his ministry. He preaches the TRUTH of the gospel, and the Strange Fire Conference was instrumental in calling me out of “speaking in tongues”, being “slain in the Spirit” ( Where do I find that in scripture? ), etc.
I believe I’m forgiven because when I was into that “stuff”, I believed that I was doing right, and I THOUGHT that I was going to “debunk” John MacArthur’s teaching on the subject. As they say though “Man plans, God laughs”. The first session of the conference wasn’t over before I repented and pleaded with God for forgiveness and mercy.

Why should bars, sports and abortion clinics be allowed to open but church’s remain closed, it’s are right to worship our Lord. Hello Justin. Most of my saved life I have been wondering from church to church. When I wasn’t being disobedient. Mostly I’ve attended charismatic churches like Hillsong and such. Always wondering why I wasn’t receiving things and being blessed like they claimed I would be. Giving when it was difficult, pretending to speak in tongues, and being abused by pastors and counsellors. I’m a Canadian living on Toronto island. There is only an Anglican Church with a gay pastor here. I would not know where to begin to look for a church in Toronto so Pastor John MacArthur is my pastor and his church is my virtual church. One of your videos popped up in my RUclips newsfeed once and that’s when I found pastor MacArthur. Only now I feel I’m being fed and am beginning to
understand the good word. Through your teachings and that of John MacArthur. I always prayed that the Lord would not let me be deceived,
give me wisdom and discernment and he has answered my prayers. Thank you for everything that you do.

When I listen to John MacArthur speak, I get very convicted sometimes. John talks so deep sometimes about the scriptures that I actually Re-Examine my faith on the spot. Am I putting Christ first? Do I own to much? I think if we can't see what is happening in our world right now then we apparently have lost our way when it comes down to who we really follow. Christ or this world? Compared with what Christian friends of mine are enduring in another country, what Pastor John is doing is a small thing. But Pastor John is being faithful to the LORD God in the face of this “small” challenge and is thereby a huge example to the rest of us here in the US. I was first introduced to JMac when I was in college over 30 years ago with his incredible book, The Gospel According to Jesus. During seminary, used his materials in research and even today, I will use many of his sermon outlines. He is truly a blessing to the work of Christ in my life and the ministry I try to perform. May God bless all of His faithful saints.

Thank you Lord for the example and sound teaching of these two men of faith. Justin, you and John MacArthur have been used by Christ to give me discernment. I'd walked away from faith in God over 20 years ago. It was only recently, a few months ago, that God had other ideas for me, and I re-awoke as though for the first time to faith in Jesus. I believe God had never abandoned me....ever. He waited patiently to turn me towards Him again. My initial desire was to truly KNOW Him, to truly know His word, to build on the rock this time, planting deep roots. I've turned to John MacArthur and yourself, Justin, as two of the most Word-and-Spirit-led teachers out there. Not only do you seek, like the Bereans, to understand God's word truly, but you exhibit Christ-like qualities, evincing the work the Lord has done in your lives. Thank you!

@Fred Slice Public health regulations are all speculation now. Just have to decide if these government regulations are purely based on a political agenda. I believe they are at this point. So do other doctors. The statistics for this virus back my opinion. Therefore, going to church is the right thing for me. And anyone who feels it is for them as well. If you're convicted, stay at home.
