I wish the churches around where I live would’ve been so bold. I had such a difficult time reconciling these decisions when it happened. I couldn’t understand why we bowed down and closed. The church! Closed. 😔 Where was our trust and faithfulness? I’m having such a difficult time finding a church now.

I was attending a mega well know church in Lake Forest when the virus struck. That church shutdown and thank the Lord I found Pastor John preaching on RUclips. I also found the masters seminary that directed me to find an bible preaching church. I am now blessed with an Irish born Pastor who was taught by Pastor John. So blessed!!
I have learned so much from John MacArthur about what it means to be a Christian. I pray for his health and that he continues blessing us with his teaching🙏

I just came back from watching the movie. I was the only person in the whole theater and I still cheered out loud lol. THIS....WAS.....GREAT!!!!! So much information about everything on the church. I was like Mike about the dilemma on Romans 13 and never heard of the term "Eransism" (I know I'm spelling it wrong and can't find the correct spelling; the thought of God>State>Church) and that blew my mind. I knew that the church wasn't under the state but didn't know the term. Anyway, this was amazing. When is part 2 coming out? lol Thank You Lord for this wonderful gift and showing us how the church is suppose to be.
I went Friday morning. I think there were 8 people including me and a friend who wouldn't have went by himself. He liked the movie though. One lady next to me left about 2/3's through and the man she was with left about 7/8's through. I don't know why. I'm thankful they had a showing in my area.
This makes me sad. It could so easily have been our family. We got our mother out of a nursing home 1 or 2 weeks before the lockdowns. If we hadn't, she would have died in a week. She died earlier this year. At least she was able to be at home. The abandoning of sick/dying people and their families was the cruelest part of all of this. There will be an accounting one day before Christ. For those who know Him, they did not die alone. Christ was with them and then received them Home. I am glad your father is now with the Lord. He will NEVER suffer again. Hang on to that.

I thank God for you both because you have helped me in my walk with God, I grew up in a Pentecostal church, though i must say I don't remember it being as crazy as NAR Nothing About Righteousness but there were theological problems. I saw Essential Church last night at the theater, highly recommended! It was good to see how transparent the movie is with how GCC elders worked through differences and came out hand in hand. Absolutely critical for church unity that leadership be united.
I love Pastor John McArthur. He is such a man of God, so is Justin Peters. These two men will definitely be in heaven with God one day. God will say to them:’Well done my faithful servant.’😊

YES! I hope they do feel guilty! I am just an ordinary woman, church attender, and I will never stop feeling ashamed of my own cowardice during this time. For the most part, there has been zero repentance for what was done during that time. Everyone is just pretending none of it happened. I feel like I'm going crazy because I know it DID happen. How can we just pretend we are back in 2019? There are many people who never did go back to church at all! Some walked away from God. Some still do "online church", which is not really church at all. I am not talking about those with serious health issues who can't make it outside. That is a sad reality and I know that. I'm talking about able bodied people who always went to church but since 2020 have not, by choice.
Some of us who have not gone back to a physical church is bc we realized at that time our church didn't just make a mistake, they were wolves in sheep's clothing. They upped the Bethel and Elevation music; they upped the theatrics. They became New Age or NAR. They embraced homosexuality and women pastors. I long for and keep praying for a church here led by true God fearing men.

I can't wait to watch this documentary, The Essential Church and hope it will become available in Theaters in Santa Cruz and Monterey Counties, California. I never bought in to this charly-V causing the entire world to "comply 'n close", and, as many, struggled over Romans 13... Until 2 events began: Grace Community and Calvary Chapel's Pastor Jack Hibbs began questioning all that was going on regarding the closing of all churches. The rest is history.
My churches Pastor called on the services of Jenna Ellis. Upon writing one letter the church never heard a single peep again from the Governor of Oregon and after only 2 weeks of being closed (not because of government fear and intimidation but rather because all the staff had contracted the plague) the church services started up again, grew and has never looked back. God is good, All the time!!!

My church, Calvary Chapel Phila., closed for a few weeks also. But then we too, opened our doors after prayer. Someone reported us to the city of phila. Health dept. They came out and were ready to fine us but after interviewing our pastors, they gave us a clean report.! One pastor even shared the gospel with the inspector. Praise the Lord for His grace in time of need. !

I think Pastor John is one of our world’s most faithful men of God..I have learned so much under his teaching of the truth of God’s Word. I am an RN in the state of Alabama and I did witness death after death…it was really a horrible time..the likes of which I had never seen in 25 years. People dying alone with no family members except the medical staff with them.. it was truly a time of despair that seemed to have no end in sight. I nearly lost my husband and son in law both to covid. With that being said… my church covered my family with prayers, love, and support beyond words. Pastor John is right… if ever a time the church was needed to stand strong and be faithful to show the world that Christ is our hope and peace thru anything that comes our way.. this was an appointed time in history for that. Satan tried hard to shut the body of Christ down.. but the victory is already won. Even though Covid was a terrible virus that claimed countless lives.. I do believe the powers to be used it to manipulate people every way they could. I am looking forward to seeing this. Ty Justin for all you do. I have learned so much from you as well. God bless you!
I can't even imagine what medical workers endured during that time. I hope your husband & son are doing well now. I'm glad you were in a faithful church. It still boggles the mind that we shut down at all! (I do understand it at the very beginning when no one knew the severity.) This was a time when we needed each other the MOST! The extent of the suffering will never be known. So many people fell back into addictions, committed suicide, had illness worsen because they were unable to get to doctor appointments. Many lost their businesses and/or their homes. Many have never recovered from those financial blows. It's horrible. And no one seems to care! I was one of the more fortunate ones. But I still was alone for two years. I don't know how I even survived. 2022 was a blur. I feel like I'm barely coming out of it even now. It was like a bad dream. I lost my church and all my friends there. I still have not recovered.
I am a RN too n i know what u underwent during COVID I'm from Goa India, we're still reeling from the strain of overwork and viewing the fear on people's faces during COVID thank God we somehow pulled through, all glory to God for his loving arms around us always.
I am so pleased that Grace took the stand against the tyranny. God used them in a mighty way. All glory goes to God! I sure appreciate that the men in leadership at Grace have the courage for standing.

The "church" is not a building, it is the gathering of the Body of Christ. Loved the opening. The church is here (at least in part) to remind government that there is a higher authority. Great word.

Love John MacArthur's sermons. I watch them all the time. Because most churches in this country shut down, the only church I can go to now is online, such as Grace Church. I do like it that he wants pastors to feel guilty for shutting down. I lost faith in the church, in general, because of all the shaming and finger pointing that occurred to all of us who were unvaxed and not wearing masks etc. In other words, it seems that the church reflects society and accepts all the junk going on from the pandemic to LGBTQ vs living by faith. There is no place to go to church where I live since I cannot fit in and trust others in a Christian community. It seems that most gave in to the gov't. I believe the pandemic was fabricated from day one of it being on the news...this is based on previous experiences working for the gov't.

Newly born again early 70's, we were part of the UNM area born again Christians who met in homes and we were "door to door" knockers.... and we did pass around or buy re-copied cassessette tapes (50 cents) of John MacA sermons, along with J Piper's. We studied the Word of God comparing Scripture with Scripture using our center column Bible, Strongs, Vines, etc. thank you O Lord for the Greatness of Your Word towards us and for the faithful long-lasting ministries of these men who love You. I'll be honest...though I see Dr. MacArthur's point about "give and inch and the govt will take a mile"...I did always think the use of N-95's in meetings would have been better. As a CNA, I bathed a lot of deceased patients who died from this disease. I was really concerned for his church when they refused even masks. Please don't get me wrong, I LOVE Dr. MacArthur and his preaching is strong and sound. I've always been edified by his sermons and I respect him tremendously. But I will DEFINITELY be seeing this movie if it's in any theatres close to me, heck, I'll even drive a couple hours to Houston if I have to!! I want to support films like these. Pastor John, I disagree with you on the shutting down of churches. I had been noticing some heretical teachings in my church for many years. I had been there 34 years. My daughter and I discussed exhaustively the platinum, gold, silver, bronze givers; the quoting of imams, the pope and rabbis; the young people on stage whose living was anything but holy off stage, the guest preachers like John Gray, Chad Veach, and that Hillsong guy . . .; the demand for the community to pay to watch the Christmas or Easter play at the church. . .However, we stayed because . . . Leaving that church and watching church online eventually took me to RUclips where I rediscovered this man whom I used to listen to while sitting in the back my dad's car on Saturday mornings in the Caribbean. I started listening to you and knew I was getting the unadulterated truth of Scripture - Scripture explained using Scripture. . . Thank GOD for John MacArthur. We left that church and are now at Miami Bible Church in Hialeah where they preach the Gospel

I support John in the controversial "make other pastors feel guilty" quote. I think pastors who did not reopen their churches after a few weeks/months during 2020 should feel convicted and hopefully do better when similar challenges arise in the future. Because I believe the government will keep trying to find ways to shut down church services. I think this is only going to increase, and we have to remain strong in the Lord. The church IS ESENTIAL.

I drove to Grace Church to worship with true brothers and sisters during their Biblical defiance to illegal orders to shut down. I was prepared by God's grace to go to jail if it meant others could worship. Thank God for my faith in His strength to stand firm with those other Believers who were worshipping in spirit and truth by the powerful Presence of the Holy Spirit no matter what. Praise God.

It was shown at 2 venues two weeks ago in Auckland. We were at both viewings - fantastic! I understand there is someone (I have no idea who) is trying to get it into some selected cinemas around NZ. Can’t wait to see it a third time :)

I was attending a mega well know church in Lake Forest when the virus struck. That church shutdown and thank the Lord I found Pastor John preaching on RUclips. I also found the masters seminary that directed me to find an bible preaching church. I am now blessed with an Irish born Pastor who was taught by Pastor John. So blessed!!

I just came back from watching the movie. I was the only person in the whole theater and I still cheered out loud lol. THIS....WAS.....GREAT!!!!! So much information about everything on the church. I was like Mike about the dilemma on Romans 13 and never heard of the term "Eransism" (I know I'm spelling it wrong and can't find the correct spelling; the thought of God>State>Church) and that blew my mind. I knew that the church wasn't under the state but didn't know the term. Anyway, this was amazing. When is part 2 coming out? lol Thank You Lord for this wonderful gift and showing us how the church is suppose to be.
I went Friday morning. I think there were 8 people including me and a friend who wouldn't have went by himself. He liked the movie though. One lady next to me left about 2/3's through and the man she was with left about 7/8's through. I don't know why. I'm thankful they had a showing in my area.
My dad died due to compilation of Covid and we didn’t get to say even say good by. I know he is with the Lord, but it still hurts.
This makes me sad. It could so easily have been our family. We got our mother out of a nursing home 1 or 2 weeks before the lockdowns. If we hadn't, she would have died in a week. She died earlier this year. At least she was able to be at home.
The abandoning of sick/dying people and their families was the cruelest part of all of this. There will be an accounting one day before Christ. For those who know Him, they did not die alone. Christ was with them and then received them Home. I am glad your father is now with the Lord. He will NEVER suffer again. Hang on to that.

I saw Essential Church last night at the theater, highly recommended! It was good to see how transparent the movie is with how GCC elders worked through differences and came out hand in hand. Absolutely critical for church unity that leadership be united.

YES! I hope they do feel guilty! I am just an ordinary woman, church attender, and I will never stop feeling ashamed of my own cowardice during this time. For the most part, there has been zero repentance for what was done during that time. Everyone is just pretending none of it happened. I feel like I'm going crazy because I know it DID happen. How can we just pretend we are back in 2019? There are many people who never did go back to church at all! Some walked away from God. Some still do "online church", which is not really church at all. I am not talking about those with serious health issues who can't make it outside. That is a sad reality and I know that. I'm talking about able bodied people who always went to church but since 2020 have not, by choice.
Some of us who have not gone back to a physical church is bc we realized at that time our church didn't just make a mistake, they were wolves in sheep's clothing. They upped the Bethel and Elevation music; they upped the theatrics. They became New Age or NAR. They embraced homosexuality and women pastors. I long for and keep praying for a church here led by true God fearing men.

My churches Pastor called on the services of Jenna Ellis. Upon writing one letter the church never heard a single peep again from the Governor of Oregon and after only 2 weeks of being closed (not because of government fear and intimidation but rather because all the staff had contracted the plague) the church services started up again, grew and has never looked back.

My church, Calvary Chapel Phila., closed for a few weeks also. But then we too, opened our doors after prayer. Someone reported us to the city of phila. Health dept. They came out and were ready to fine us but after interviewing our pastors, they gave us a clean report.! One pastor even shared the gospel with the inspector. Praise the Lord for His grace in time of need. !

I think Pastor John is one of our world’s most faithful men of God..I have learned so much under his teaching of the truth of God’s Word. I am an RN in the state of Alabama and I did witness death after death…it was really a horrible time..the likes of which I had never seen in 25 years. People dying alone with no family members except the medical staff with them.. it was truly a time of despair that seemed to have no end in sight. I nearly lost my husband and son in law both to covid. With that being said… my church covered my family with prayers, love, and support beyond words. Pastor John is right… if ever a time the church was needed to stand strong and be faithful to show the world that Christ is our hope and peace thru anything that comes our way.. this was an appointed time in history for that. Satan tried hard to shut the body of Christ down.. but the victory is already won. Even though Covid was a terrible virus that claimed countless lives.. I do believe the powers to be used it to manipulate people every way they could. I am looking forward to seeing this. Ty Justin for all you do. I have learned so much from you as well. God bless you!
I can't even imagine what medical workers endured during that time. I hope your husband & son are doing well now. I'm glad you were in a faithful church. It still boggles the mind that we shut down at all! (I do understand it at the very beginning when no one knew the severity.) This was a time when we needed each other the MOST! The extent of the suffering will never be known. So many people fell back into addictions, committed suicide, had illness worsen because they were unable to get to doctor appointments. Many lost their businesses and/or their homes. Many have never recovered from those financial blows. It's horrible. And no one seems to care!
I was one of the more fortunate ones. But I still was alone for two years. I don't know how I even survived. 2022 was a blur. I feel like I'm barely coming out of it even now. It was like a bad dream. I lost my church and all my friends there. I still have not recovered.

I was all awed by Pastor John’s decision to keep Grace Community Church open during the lock down periods in 2020. Praise God. Every church in my nation was closed but only Grace Community Church in Sun Valley, California was opened! Praise God. That’s how I worshipped Lord with GCC and followed Pastor John’s teachings since then! Soli Deo Gloria.

Love John MacArthur's sermons. I watch them all the time. Because most churches in this country shut down, the only church I can go to now is online, such as Grace Church. I do like it that he wants pastors to feel guilty for shutting down. I lost faith in the church, in general, because of all the shaming and finger pointing that occurred to all of us who were unvaxed and not wearing masks etc. In other words, it seems that the church reflects society and accepts all the junk going on from the pandemic to LGBTQ vs living by faith. There is no place to go to church where I live since I cannot fit in and trust others in a Christian community. It seems that most gave in to the gov't. I believe the pandemic was fabricated from day one of it being on the news...this is based on previous experiences working for the gov't.

Newly born again early 70's, we were part of the UNM area born again Christians who met in homes and we were "door to door" knockers.... and we did pass around or buy re-copied cassessette tapes (50 cents) of John MacA sermons, along with J Piper's. We studied the Word of God comparing Scripture with Scripture using our center column Bible, Strongs, Vines, etc. thank you O Lord for the Greatness of Your Word towards us and for the faithful long-lasting ministries of these men who love You. I'll be honest...though I see Dr. MacArthur's point about "give and inch and the govt will take a mile"...I did always think the use of N-95's in meetings would have been better. As a CNA, I bathed a lot of deceased patients who died from this disease. I was really concerned for his church when they refused even masks. Please don't get me wrong, I LOVE Dr. MacArthur and his preaching is strong and sound. I've always been edified by his sermons and I respect him tremendously. But I will DEFINITELY be seeing this movie if it's in any theatres close to me, heck, I'll even drive a couple hours to Houston if I have to!! I want to support films like these. They're finally showing it reasonable close here in Indiana. Trying to figure out a time we can go see it this weekend. Been looking since I heard about this, but hadn't checked for the past week or so. This was a good reminder to go see if it was in our area yet.

I had been noticing some heretical teachings in my church for many years. I had been there 34 years. My daughter and I discussed exhaustively the platinum, gold, silver, bronze givers; the quoting of imams, the pope and rabbis; the young people on stage whose living was anything but holy off stage, the guest preachers like John Gray, Chad Veach, and that Hillsong guy . . .; the demand for the community to pay to watch the Christmas or Easter play at the church. . .However, we stayed because . . .
Leaving that church and watching church online eventually took me to RUclips where I rediscovered this man whom I used to listen to while sitting in the back my dad's car on Saturday mornings in the Caribbean. I started listening to you and knew I was getting the unadulterated truth of Scripture - Scripture explained using Scripture. . .
Thank GOD for John MacArthur. We left that church and are now at Miami Bible Church in Hialeah where they preach the Gospel
One first at a time. To Almighty GOD, who moved His own out of wicked, heretical churches during the pandemic to the Truth, be all glory and honor and praise.

I support John in the controversial "make other pastors feel guilty" quote. I think pastors who did not reopen their churches after a few weeks/months during 2020 should feel convicted and hopefully do better when similar challenges arise in the future. Because I believe the government will keep trying to find ways to shut down church services. I think this is only going to increase, and we have to remain strong in the Lord. The church IS ESENTIAL.

I can proudly and humbly say I knew in my heart and soul it was what I thought it was. I drove to Grace Church to worship with true brothers and sisters during their Biblical defiance to illegal orders to shut down. I was prepared by God's grace to go to jail if it meant others could worship. Thank God for my faith in His strength to stand firm with those other Believers who were worshipping in spirit and truth by the powerful Presence of the Holy Spirit no matter what. Praise God.

It was shown at 2 venues two weeks ago in Auckland. We were at both viewings - fantastic! I understand there is someone (I have no idea who) is trying to get it into some selected cinemas around NZ. Can’t wait to see it a third time :)
