Great advice. At age 68, I started reselling last year. I rent a booth at an antique/vintage store and I’m having the best time. I’m doing it for fun, not profit. To move items that are not selling I’m currently having a 20% sale. What doesn’t sale, I’ll either donate back or I’ll put a big discount on it. You’re right about over paying for your merchandise. I don’t overpay so that I can offer discounts. Thanks for your video! 👏🏻👏🏻

Hi Mike ( It's been a while ) . My question as an antique store owner has our inflation and current economy affected your business in the past few years .
Great question!! Will answer in the next Q&A
@@66uniqueantiques Thanks .
I totally forgot about the Q&A questions. Thanks for answering! Great video!
Thanks! Time is not on our side right now but soon the stream of videos will be back. Thanks for the question
Thanks for the insights Mike! A couple other things for you to ponder. (1) Clearly, in the past decade many brick & mortar stores have disappeared as more people have turned to buying things online. Many antique stores have gone out of business and not many "new" ones have been established. Do you see that trend continuing and how do you plan to compete in an on-line world? (2) Somewhat related to the first question....it seems like most antique stores go out of business after one generation of owners. Seldom passed down in the family...or even sold to others. Have you given thought to a succession plan once you & Amber come to the time when you're ready to hang it up and spend all your time playing those 80's video games? Thanks!
2 great questions that we will answer in the next Q&A
Lots of stores die cuz no change of inventory, or too much of same items. Variety & change is answer. Vendors refresh and move furniture & stock bi- monthly.
Great advice. Thank you. You are giving me hope.

Great question that will be in the next Q&A
Mike, I have difficulty pricing items. I buy 50 cent items and ask myself what would I like to pay if I collected said item from antque shop. I also price by popularity. Like Pyrex is hot. Generally I turn 50 cents into $5-$10. I have a very small space in Mt Pleasant Mi
I can address pricing in the next Q&A
