Just sucks it had to be with the revival they’ve been trying to get off the ground for 20 f*cking years. You’d think they’d be more careful about making sure this of all things didn’t suck.

I think todays writers actually just hate the 2000s. Every time they reboot something from that time they always have to do a pseudo intellectual flex about how things were worse back then and we are changing everything and making it better.
Honestly this could’ve been an opportunity for them to add more historical figures into the new season, since this will allow them to make more historical jokes and to make fun of other school stuff as well.🤔🐱
People always talk about abe being "oh so rude to joan!!" or "he rejected her!!" But he literally didnt??? He was just a complete dumbass who was really oblivious and didnt have his head straight. To be fair, Cleopatra definitely had a thing for girls, it was used as a joke a bit in the first season so it's not too shocking but I'm sure that's not why they did it
Her liking girls isn't the issue, it's the fact that she has as much personality as a fucking plank of wood yet the writers still expect us to care about her for some reason

As soon as I watched that leaked episode and it was all "BRO CANCEL CULTURE!! BRO TIKTOK!!! BRO GORE!! LAUGH BRO!!!!!" I knew it was over. Didn't return to see the actual launch and saved a whole lot of time, thanks leakerman
I’m pretty sure the reason Scudworth and Mr.B still remain pretty decent is because they’re voiced, and most likely written, by Chris Miller and Phil Lord.
Thank you for outlining exactly why the characters in season 2 dont hit like they do in season 1, I wanted to like the reboot so badly but it just legitimately sucks.
You’re some AI bot or a very desperate person to be saying a comment like this. It’s more than a minute and you couldn’t have watched it in 49 seconds. Likes online don’t have anything in return
i think the main problem with S2 of CH is that they have too many characters to work with. some get more screentime than others and some are left underutilized (cleo), while in the first season, every character got plenty of time to shine and to interact with one another... even scud and mr. b! personally, i would remove confucious and harriet from the main cast and keep frida and topher since they're the only new clones with... actual personalities, i guess. i'd also have joan become resentful to the fact that she's now popular, and dislikes jfk lusting after her. abe can try to make amends with cleo... only to receive the cold shoulder in return, and as for ghandi... honestly, it would've been funny if scudsworth accidentally killed him by knocking him over. either that, or go the gary coleman route idk.
I think the only reasonable thing Lord and Miller could do, is to completely decanonize this season. Here’s how: Have the next season start with the clones being unfrozen again, and have it be revealed that the entirety of the previous season was the frozen hallucination of one of the lesser side characters from season 1. That way you can get a clean slate, you don’t have to deal with networks executives arguing that you “can’t just delete the previous season”, and you now have new voice actors that actually have a whole non-canon season of practice under their belt.
I love how the original cast look younger but normal versions of their historical counterparts whereas the newer characters look all "hip" and have overcoloured hair and clothing. Only Columbus looks normal.
Lord and Miller talk about learning from their projects since Clone High was cancelled, looking at how all this played out they pretty much forgot how to write for the show. To be fair its been like 20 years since the original run.
The original was mean-spirited at its core, it was making fun of all the other popular dramas at the time and their tropes. When you lose that mean spirit, you lose the show
It had some decent moments here and there, of self-lampooning and generally solid humor, but the spark of the original can't really be remade here in such a wildly different era. I will say though, the music was on point for the show. Tommy Walters with his Abandoned Pools project did a really great job, and I'm glad to have the (updated) Clone High theme on Spotify as well.
Before this cams out I was already at the level of "Ever remake is bad" this is just more evidence that Hollywood is out of ideas and all they can do is destroy the classics
I think maybe the only good reboot we've had in a while is the Beavis and Butthead reboot of the show and the Beavis and Butthead Do the Universe movie.
To be fair, the last 4 episodes were pretty good, which there's a theory going on that after ATSV was done, Lord-Miller wrote those episodes, that's why there's a tonal shift towards the end of S2 of Clone High.
ngl it's always aggrevating whenever there's noticeable downgrade in a show's writing. It plagues Spongebob the most, like the line there is so clearly split between before and after season 4
Idk though because the movie was actually complete less than 2 weeks before premiere and changes were being made until the end. Plus, you'd think they would care more about this show???
I don't really notice much of a difference in those episodes. The Mr. Besley episode was good but the humor continued to be bad in those other episodes. Scudsworth and Mr. B hallucinating in the desert was funny. But the A plot of that episode was really bad Joan is just forcing JFK to stand out in the sun with not protection just so he can act smarter and he doesn't object to it at all. It's not even brought up that he is maybe getting sun burnt and parched. That Joan is literally cooking him. I did not need to see Abe get preyed on by a crypt keeper.
I wasnt aware they were remaking clone high. This kind of stuff always brings me back to the quote “Evil cannot create anything new, they can only corrupt and ruin what good forces have invented or made.”
If I were to see Harriet Tubman in this show, I wouldn't even know it was her. I actually find it funny that they didn't add MLK since he would've been one of the more likeable characters, probably
I watched the first episode of the remote and I couldn't continue watching it! The PC culture crap they put in alone made me not want to continue any episodes!
You can tell Phil law and Christopher Miller were barely involved with the show because they were busy with across the Spiderverse and the names were attached to the shows trailer to not only give false hope but because the Spiderverse movies are popular right now....I mean the same thing happend with the Lego movie 2 when they were busy working on the first Spiderverse movie and the producer's name was just slapped onto the Lego Movie 2 so people would see it
It's so funny to me that every human in the series has a worse personality then in the original but the fucking ROBOT has a good backstory, literally the NPC xD
Completely agree! 2nd season sucks! They did bad to everyone! Cleo is a different character now, there is no need for any of the new characters, Joan and JFK do not have clear roles, Abe feels left out to the viewer and the only episode that is good is the one of the robot. The whole season is messy. Episode 4 is the worst and you just made me write a whole paragraph. Good video!
I bet they'll introduce a character who is supposed to be a hateable antagonist but who'll turn out to be a fan favorite cuz the character will have an actual personality
the fact that these characters are HISTORICAL FIGURES but in this season rarely make reference to that is so annoying, at least with topher bus needing to change his name because of christopher columbus is funny but the other new characters have nothing to do with who theyre cloned after
I feel like Topher had a lot of wasted potential, especially when he suddenly likes Joan (idk who came up with that idea but it doesn’t make sense at all)
This reboot feels like the cast recorded a table read of a terrible wattpad fanfic written by a bipolar teenage girl who was completely oblivious to the satirical nature of the original series, and then it was animated and passed off as an official continuation
Clone High season 2/the Clone High reboot is honestly the biggest disappointment of the century(except episode 9, it was way better than the rest of season 2/the reboot) not only was it painfully unfunny, pandering, and changed the personalities of the old characters but the fact that we waited 20 years for it speaks volumes and in hindsight I'm very glad they didn't bring back Gandhi because he probably would have been just as if not more butchered then the rest of the returning cast. Also JFK's voice actor didn't change(but I guess the reason why his voice sounds different now is because Chris Miller couldn't do the voice the same way after 20 years) but Cleo's voice actress did change from Christa Miller to Mitra Jouhari and Christa now plays the women with all the lizards and reptiles for some reason, on a side note I assume they did this so Cleo would have a voice actress that matches her race/ethnicity which if is that is the case then it was a pretty dumb and pointless decision because voice acting is about if the voice actor's voice is a good fit for the character, not if they have the same skin color and/or ethnicity as the character.
In the very first episode, they are so out of character. In the first season, JFK was the one who called people/things gay, not Abe. In the first season, Joan was never shown carrying about being popular or shown eating lunch alone/in the bathroom, but according to season two, apparently she was an insecure simp this whole time

I think todays writers actually just hate the 2000s. Every time they reboot something from that time they always have to do a pseudo intellectual flex about how things were worse back then and we are changing everything and making it better.
Honestly this could’ve been an opportunity for them to add more historical figures into the new season, since this will allow them to make more historical jokes and to make fun of other school stuff as well.🤔🐱
Imagine they added the Austrian Painter 😂

If you see a reboot of your favorite show assume it’ll be awful and you’ll never be disappointed.
Makes me realize that 2000s writers had a better sense of humor.
People always talk about abe being "oh so rude to joan!!" or "he rejected her!!" But he literally didnt??? He was just a complete dumbass who was really oblivious and didnt have his head straight. In the end he does go after joan but it was too late and they were frozen. People dont get that hes supposed to be oblivious , not him "stroking his beard on how badly hes going to break joans heart and treat her like garbage!!" Thats not his intent at all, give the man a break already
This is literally murder. They had 20 years to perfect this and they just spiked it into the ground, shat on it then buried it!

Not like I’m going to watch it
My biggest problem is how the new characters have a completely different artstyle/look. The new characters have brightly colored hair and clothes. Frida is probably the only one that fits. 4:30 shows it best
They turned my boy JFK into a himbo smh
I’m convinced that Harriet is just one of the writers oc that they snuck in to ship with JFK
Shows like this and Velma gives me depression about the future of cartoons and animation in general
To be fair, Cleopatra definitely had a thing for girls, it was used as a joke a bit in the first season so it's not too shocking but I'm sure that's not why they did it
It's not the issue of her liking girls, It is just that is not presented well.
Her liking girls isn't the issue, it's the fact that she has as much personality as a fucking plank of wood yet the writers still expect us to care about her for some reason
That’s what you’re concerned about?
@@dasdasdus exactly, they could have done it so much better
@@Femboyfcker88 I'm just correcting him, just saying that the Cleo thing didn't come out of nowhere but most likely the crew just did it for the rep and not because of that
As soon as I watched that leaked episode and it was all "BRO CANCEL CULTURE!!
JFK is still voiced by the same voice actor. In fact, all of the returning characters have their original voice actors except for Cleopatra.
One thing i learned as a Sly Cooper fan is that, things are just best left where they are and its best to not ask for more.
3:17 fun fact: It wasn't actually completely out of nowhere.
In the first season she once said ''Ugh i almost did it with Joan? Hot.''
I meant her feelings for Frida were, not that she’s bi.
probably would've been
Chris Miller is still the voice actor for JFK. It's just been 20 years and he's kind of lost the voice a bit
Season 2 is basically just "haha gen z humor and social media tropes."
I think the best way to describe to reboot is “wasted potential”
All of Confuscius jokes are the most boomer thing ever conceived, like "Im gen Z and dont know what a book is" levels of cringe
When you look at something like this, the apocalypse doesn't sound like a terrifying event, but more like a hopeful relief.

i think the main problem with S2 of CH is that they have too many characters to work with. some get more screentime than others and some are left underutilized (cleo), while in the first season, every character got plenty of time to shine and to interact with one another... even scud and mr. b!
personally, i would remove confucious and harriet from the main cast and keep frida and topher since they're the only new clones with... actual personalities, i guess. i'd also have joan become resentful to the fact that she's now popular, and dislikes jfk lusting after her. abe can try to make amends with cleo... only to receive the cold shoulder in return, and as for ghandi...
honestly, it would've been funny if scudsworth accidentally killed him by knocking him over. either that, or go the gary coleman route idk.
“Growing up is watching everything you’ve known and love turn to shit” -me
I think the only reasonable thing Lord and Miller could do, is to completely decanonize this season.
Here’s how:
Have the next season start with the clones being unfrozen again, and have it be revealed that the entirety of the previous season was the frozen hallucination of one of the lesser side characters from season 1.
The glory days of prime Undergrads and Clone High are to be cherished.
This show and total drama being in the same style is perfect for a crossover
I knew this reboot would suck the second I found out they shelved Ghandi
New character designs were definitely stolen off Tumblr
I think maybe the only good reboot we've had in a while is the Beavis and Butthead reboot of the show and the Beavis and Butthead Do the Universe movie.
they Velma'd Clone High.
Exactly!
I like the total drama-esque art style, but I really wish HBO Max didn't make this, and instead they could make it one of those free Amazon series
4:41 that probably made me laugh more than how much i could ever assume to laugh if i tried to watch this 2nd season of clone high
No shows today are effortlessly genius
Agreed 👍🏿
That's why I don't watch tv anymore, no more good shows in this day n age
I think it be better if they just left the series to rest
Harriet looks like an obsessed mlp fans oc of a human pinkie pie and kinda acts like it
All of this wouldn’t happened if Steiner had conducted his counter attack
The fact that topher is the most popular new character when he only had 5 minutes of screen time says a lot
Another thing about Cleo. Her relationship with Abe is completely forgotten about in this season. Like, it’s not even mentioned.
2:51 the funny part is Cleopatra was exactly like that in history. She basically seduced Julius Caesar and Mark Antony to do her bidding
I do think this show gets better after episode 6.
I really love the Mr B. episode.
It might be one of the best episodes of the show.
If I were to see Harriet Tubman in this show, I wouldn't even know it was her. I actually find it funny that they didn't add MLK since he would've been one of the more likeable characters, probably
They did actually add MLK he’s a background character in the first season and the second season(he’s even in the intro for the second season)
i couldn’t even finish season 2
I watched the first episode of the remote and I couldn't continue watching it! The PC culture crap they put in alone made me not want to continue any episodes!
Bro they made Harriet Tubman a fucking clown 💀💀💀💀💀💀
Good video!
I really hope Futurama doesn't get screwed up. But seeing stuff like this doesn't give a lot of hope.
At least they kept the old art style, nice to see an animated show stylized
Did anyone notice he said “I’m bustin a nu- I’m bustin a gut” 😂
I bet they'll introduce a character who is supposed to be a hateable antagonist but who'll turn out to be a fan favorite cuz the character will have an actual personality
Bro that intro. I felt that😢.
the fact that these characters are HISTORICAL FIGURES but in this season rarely make reference to that is so annoying, at least with topher bus needing to change his name because of christopher columbus is funny but the other new characters have nothing to do with who theyre cloned after
harriet’s design reminds me of a lot of those awful "pinkie pie is black" humanized fan art
The meme at the beginning was so real
I feel like Topher had a lot of wasted potential, especially when he suddenly likes Joan (idk who came up with that idea but it doesn’t make sense at all)
This reboot feels like the cast recorded a table read of a terrible wattpad fanfic written by a bipolar teenage girl who was completely oblivious to the satirical nature of the original series, and then it was animated and passed off as an official continuation
The biggest sin they committed was killing off toots.
Oh my God, I didn’t even know they rebooted this show, this just hurts my soul since I loved the original series, I miss the Early 2000’s 😔
In the first season, Joan was never shown carrying about being popular or shown eating lunch alone/in the bathroom, but according to season two, apparently she was an insecure simp this whole time
Loved your videos man, you really make me aspire to be a commentart creator myself. 😁
