seeing as building is a bit more complicated than simple blocks, have you considered implementing something similar to minecraft bedrocks "predictive block placement?" being able to place blocks on a bridge or wall without having to see the face of that block would probably make building things like the edges of the glass on the dome much faster and simple. hope i explained that well enough
Beautiful as always. I cannot wait for this game :) Is there any chance of extremely early testing access? I can’t do much cause of my health and this looks really relaxing, if there is lmk
Got some cool plans that will let everyone play for a building competition in ~3 months! Just need to finish a few little features first that will make the game a lot more enjoyable to play.
Can I make a suggestion for the Timelapse camera? You know how in an action-RPG game like Zelda or Kingdom Hearts, you have a lock-on that makes sure that both your character and the chosen enemy stay on screen? Usually the game picks the midpoint between the two, and then picks an angle so the camera is pointed at that spot and both “endpoints” are visible. Maybe have it where you pick a distance when starting the Timelapse, let’s say 50 or 100 blocks, and a rotation speed, like 1 rotation per 2 minutes, and the camera locks on to the midpoint between you and the farthest-away block you’ve placed since starting the Timelapse, with a new block chosen every 30 seconds (save the coordinates of the currently placed block every 5-10 seconds, and then once 30 seconds are up, compare that list with the currently-selected “furthest block” to determine if it needs to change anything. The camera could rotate around that specified midpoint at the designated minimum distance, zooming only to ensure that both you and the selected block stay in range. This would allow for more dynamic camera angles, and make sure the viewer can see what you’re doing easily. And only checking for a new midpoint at intervals with the camera smoothly transitioning to the new midpoint would prevent the computer from having to constantly do extra calculations with every block placed and minimize performance impact.
you know, i feel like its a bit dark, even when its the middle of the day. Its hard to describe what i mean, but i feel like the dark edges of the sky make it feel..... off. Maybe its a bit washed out? Maybe make i a setting to be able to adjust the temp of the light etc.(great build btw, cant wait for the game)
It would be cool to see a hexagonal Minecraft village. Edit: I just realized you built a sort of village inside, but it doesn't look like Minecraft villages. Another suggestion would be a skyscraper. The tallest you can built in your game.
Would your team be interested in professional builders for this game eventually? This could be for trailers, trial worlds, world templates, structures, etc. Me and my friend have been building in Minecraft for years, and we'd make some cool stuff with these blocks.
im j lit u dont use world edit good shit broski- I JUST REALIZED WHO IM WATCHING AND THAT THIS ISNT MINECRAFT WTFFFFFF. bro this game is truly coming together im so happy for you good work man. i hope and cant wait to play it
Blue Bean is getting replaced soon! Come join our discord to get a sneak peak of the new player character. discord.gg/eSS2pYU7Nw
🦁
Hexagons are the bestagons
i was not expectubg this comment and i'm so happy about it
I'd like it if there were planets youd need a suit or a habitat to survive on. Would make habitable ones all the more valuable.
Can't wait to try this game myself

Yeah like when you start building a line of blocks you only have to look beside the block instead of directly at it?

@@IncandescentGames Awesome!
You have to hope that planetsmith will be successful, because you can see that it has potential
Would be cool if you had planets with different atmospheres and gravities
i know it's a bit more complicated but it'd be cool if you built a skyscraper or castle

"What would you like to see built next?"
Me: The game, please.
I'd love to see a cabin in the woods or mountain (if that's a thing already)
Mountains are half a thing, still need a bit of work especially with the block choice

I imagine visiting the moon was like that. A blinding lunar surface, next to the blackest void of space.
How do you find out how to make the perfect curves on the walls of the dome?
same as in minecraft. just a bit of counting.
@@chuck_muckle alright 👍🏻
i hope the moon gets added with its phases. It would also give the player a good first place to go if space travel becomes possible in the game.

Build a circle, a triangle and a square
Would it be possible for the sun to be a hexagon?
I would love to see a small medieval town! ^^

Probably when we're ready

I would love if yall built a lighthouse!!
The Dome Base region!!!! Slava Dome Base!!!!
This game is called planetsmith and it has a lot of planet in it, but what about the smith? Are you planning some smitthing crafting system?
Maybe add world edit, it will make building impressive builds easier
Eventually! Lots more important tasks first
build the planet a moon... heheee
reminds me of outer wilds
too cool
u are amazing!! :3
mate, don't eat from the batter before making a cake. chop chop, back to work
😂
