    Exactly what I needed to hear exactly when I needed to hear it. One of my "flaws" is a need to always be right. I rarely think what I say might affect others. Being right also tends to make me pessimistic and misanthropic. Considering for a moment that what I say might actually hurt others or cause them to act in negative ways later on, hopefully will make me think more carefully before I say something and help me to think about what a situation is rather than what I believe it is.

    Living in a Buddist country, I am not able to get answers about Buddism. Each time I ask a Bhuddist they just change the subject or just beat around the bush.
    Questions:
    1. If thre is no God why waste millions and millions of cash and prime real estate building massive temples?
    2. Who controls Karma?
    3. Who made matter from nothing and gave it life?

  • @alfulani5
    @alfulani5 15 лет назад

    How did matter and life come into being?? We have only 2 options!
    1. Created by one almighty God
    2. By random chance of sheer coincidence!
    And nothing in between!

    Interesting, I know so little it seems. I understand that the monks do not drink but is that rue of ALL who are Buddhist? I'm just curious. Peace

    if a few groups of people wearing police uniform commit crimes,
    should we therefore conclude that "policemen do not uphold the law?"
    ...
    Buddhism as a movement promotes peace, benevolence, clear mind. That is plain for all to see.
    And yes, it helps that Buddhism has deep scientifically worked out methods of achieving those goals,
    rather than just pointing to some obscure lines in scripture and saying "we should be peaceful".

    There is a Chinese saying that goes "jio ro chuan tsang guo, fou tzu xing zhong liuo" which means "meat and alcohal pass through the body, Buddha stays in the heart. I can only speak from experience and In China, which is prodominantly Pure Land Buddhist, it seems that it is mostly the monks who refrain from these.

    Theravada Buddhism is the closest thing to religion that I would ever come. There are a lot of helpful forms of advice that it presents, or, rather, what wise laypeople or Theravadan Buddhist monks bring us.

  • @Johniker

    There are different degrees of adhering to some of the rules. I believe Buddha described them as guidelines instead of commandments. Some Buddhists drink, but in moderation. It depends on the person, the sect, and the level of adherence, I suppose.

    I don't know if I would say as much, Buddhism not having a concept of jihad, but it is true that Buddhist have been involved in wars. And in the history of Japan, they had what were called "僧兵" or warrior monks, not corresponding to the Hospitallers or Templars, as an order, but clergy nevertheless who engaged in war.

    I am not at all angry!
    I just state the facts!! and if the facts turn out to be absurdities it is not my problem!

  • @alfulani5
    @alfulani5 15 лет назад

    If you can beleive matter and time has always been there why cant you believe God has always been there??
    It mmakes much more sense to believe this universe and everything therein is the creation of a supreme being considering the complexities preciese workings.

  • @peacemaker121123
    @peacemaker121123 12 лет назад

    It's such a shame that Buddhism has been as involved in wars as much as any other religion out there. If you don't believe me, then look at what was going on in Sri Lanka and what violence and discrimination the Dalai Lama has taken into consideration for anyone who follows Dorje Shugden. Other than that, the Eightfold Path and meditation both seem like very practical ways of approaching life, as opposed to going to extremes and trying to be hedonistic or wealthy (or both).

    IT is not a question of proving God, rather you have to disprove God!
    Try staying for a month without eating, drinking or sleeping and live for eternity!
    Thats the onlhy way you could disprove God!

  • @alfulani5
    @alfulani5 15 лет назад

    It is know Buddists end us as lunatics due to all the confusion and stupidity.
    But this is the first time I have come to know that even those who "respect" Buddism become lunatics too!

  • @alfulani5
    @alfulani5 15 лет назад

    I told you once!!
    Understanding God takes common sense, which you seem to be lacking!

  • @alfulani5

  • @alfulani5

  • @alfulani5
    @alfulani5 16 лет назад

    We can't decide if we want to be born.
    That means you dont control Karma. Someone else keeps track of your Karma!!
    This whole subject is so self contradictory and confusing!!

  • @alfulani5
    @alfulani5 15 лет назад

    It takes a fool to go around circles. Intelligent think and put gother puzzles and come to conclusions!!
    According to Buddism what you are doing now is wrong! You are supposed to meditate and realize things rather than typing away on you tube!!

  • @alfulani5
    @alfulani5 16 лет назад

    Buddists claim they are born because of Karma. So tell me did you decide to be born?

  • @alfulani5
    @alfulani5 15 лет назад

    Tell me Mr. Bottledsunshine what is immature about my responses?? Please refrain from making false accusations just because you have no counter argument!!
    Tell me what is wrong in helping those poor souls walking barefoot in Bankok under hot sun begging for food in their "quest for enlightment" the real facts of Buddism and its absurdities?

  • @alfulani5
    @alfulani5 15 лет назад

    This is strange! One full sentence from you without profanity!! I dont believe this! Do a search in your tube "war monks sri lanka" and find out who is doing all the violance!

  • @alfulani5

    Stop wasting time in You Tube, and go to the jungle!
