I am a retired Sparks and the job I hated was always chasing and cutting in boxes. I always said Domestic work is 80 % donkey work lifting carpets and floorboards ,chasing walls and running cables. The technical and skill part was the smaller part. Good luck Son, I won't be doing any more thank F***k
One of my favourite things. No irony. The money is so good, I could do nothing else. The secret for dust control is Hilti wall-chaser (DC-SE20 or DCH 150-SL) and a good vacuum cleaner.
The titan has been good to be fair but by looks of it there is better stuff out there so will have to have a look, thanks for the recommendation mate 👍
We use the metabo chaser with the vac ,mint bit of kit fella ,not cheap but amazing for dust extraction . Also no need to run up twice as tri blade gets it in 1 pass . Worth checking out .Good job though dude .
Brilliant video as per usual..surprised you have makita stuff thought u was a proper plumber/gas engineer not a joiner..that boost pump you recommended tho is mint for expansion vessels..keep up the vids pal brill..👍
Get yourself a metabo wall chaser. I picked up a second hand one on eBay for £30 and works a treat. The titan one was a nightmare and creates so much dust
Dewalt Industrial Floor Fan 24" 190W This is a great product for those dusty days or something similar.. if we really knew what we breath in our lungs even on a non dusty day.. gotta look after yourself, highly recommend
Nice new hose on your vac mate 👀. Remind me when I see you next I'll give you a link to the power tool adapter for the vac, it's the bomb! Comes with a few different sizes
@@bluebulldog_uk How could you charge to repair that? I my eyes thats your mistake as no one would expect there to be pipes running along the skirting line, if you have told them then fair play but you would be better off telling the chippy yours so you know the message was pass on and then your covered
@@rossl2544 so Il tell the homeowner as I don’t don’t know who’s going to be doing the work, that’s as far as my responsibility goes to be honest…the skirting is going to be quite big so they can fix above the pipe…with pipework treat it like wiring zones, up and across from where the pipe comes out there could be pipes so they should check…same if I was hanging a rad or boiler where sockets are etc. I can’t be held responsible if someone goes through a pipe without checking if there is pipes behind the wall when they are buried, pipes have to be somewhere so they should be checking…If they do end up going through pipe I would more than likely make access and repair as a good will gesture but they would have to have the plaster put right

Horrible work doing chases, don't want to sound like a safety pervert but get yourself some ear defenders, that chaser is like a jet engine and I had ringing in my ears for a couple of days after doing what you did. Great videos, keep them up, the good the bad and ugly side of plumbing.
Let me know your worse plumbing job you don’t like doing…thanks again for your support really appreciated 🙌👍

Run the chaser in reverse. Meaning start at the top and let gravity do the work - less dust n'all.
Never even tried that thanks mate will give it a go
Swap for hilti or Montarbo and you will no longer have dust issues
Finally it’s done n the scrap is gone. Seems like you had fun😂. Top result in the end. Well done Luke❤
I couldn’t believe the scrap lasted as long as it did 😂 thanks for the support mate 👍

Sounds like it’s worth the investment mate especially not having to do it twice

I was always told don't chase long horizontal lines in a wall as bad for structural support. Would are your thoughts on that?
It’s going 40mm into the plaster and brick so 25mm out the brick? There or there abouts…not going to affect the structure of the house in my opinion
@@bluebulldog_uk ah I see, good to know
I've got the same chaser. For the money it's brilliant.
Yes mate really good bit of kit 👍

Pretty go going buddy nice one
Thanks mate 🙌👍
Great work mate.
Thanks mate 🙌👍
here is to hoping the skirting gets glued on and not nailed on, if not could be a bad day
Could be a 2nd payday? 😳😂 I have warned them to tell the carpenter so hopefully they don’t nail it

I should really send you a link for dust masks! That ain’t good breathing that in bud!

I would if I were you, don’t want to be the health and safety police but honestly mate once your lungs go it’s all over! Good luck mate!

Your right mate should be wearing a mask 👍👍
Dusty horrible job m8, nice job of the chasing, beats the old lump hammer and bolster😂
Definitely quicker 😂👍
With those rads and low pipe work I would have chased the floor instead 🤷🏼♂️
Not within budget mate, they had a set budget and chasing floors would have taken longer unfortunately

As @killercabbage1276 says, the chaser is meant to go in the other direction and then there'll be almost zero dust in the room.
Does it show I’ve never used a wall chaser until I bought that 😳😂 il give it a try
