Mulaney,who created the character always changes his lines on the cue cards right before they go live ,so he can get Bill Hader to break, as the producers noticed that the audience loves it when he does that. Also , Mulaney said that Bill Hader hates it when he breaks character because he is very professional. Whenever Stefon is on I always die to see what crazy things he’s gonna say.
