I appreciate the candid discussion on your experience with this car. My wife has a Lexus ES 350 and while the color of it is absolutely stunning (Matador Red), the ride quality is comfortable, and the tech is decent, the car just lacks.......excitement. She test drove a 2023 m340 and instantly loved it. Looks like we'll be trading at some point this year!
I plan on getting the m340i when I finish college and get my first job. I’ve been looking at the 2020 model and that’s the year i’m hoping to get when I plan on buying, its benefits for me overpower the LCI version. I’m really excited bc i’ve been in love with this car for a while, it’s the perfect median. Thanks for you video!
That will be awesome! And I definitely agree, the pre-LCI seems like the better option but either way you’ll love the car. Good luck with finishing up school, and thank you for watching
I’m 16 right now and I think this pre LCi might be the last best m340i because LCi is just straight up cheap. They completely messed up the gauge cluster redesign and I’m really just not a fan of the new look. My car future is looking grim
@@Boahman facts, I think it's the little things in the LCI m340i add up and cause me to hate it tbh. For example, the mild hybrid, they got rid of the gear shifter, the big screen for no reason, less physical buttons. The list goes on and on lmao. I'm trying to catch the pre-LCI before our life changes with cars, might as well experience most of it now.
I have pretty much an identical M340i to yours, except mine's a 2021. I agree with you, I've found nothing to complain about after 1.5 months of ownership. I'm in love.
I love the 350z’s, I hope to have one as a project car / car to learn how to drift with one day. You should definitely pick up an m340 when ready, they are amazing cars
Completely agree, the only thing I don’t like on mine is that I don’t have the Harman Kardon sound system but that’s on me, the rattle on my m340i was the passenger seatbelt that hit the pilar when is not in use, maybe is the same on yours.
Cooled seats absolutely make a huge difference down here in the south east. I had them on my scatpack and now that that car is gone, I really miss them. Also, IMO the biggest gripe with the m340i is A) not getting the custom colors here in the USA. Only cars built in Germany get that option and B) having to pay $1700 for lane keep assist cruise control and $700 for a parking sensors is absolutely criminal and those kinds of things come standard on a Golf GTI costing half as much as one of these. Also, $2500 for the m-performance exhaust is hilarious. Yet... despite all this, DESPITE ALL THIS... I paid for all of that :|
I do miss the cooled seats even with ceramic tinted windows the seats still Get warm and sweaty, and the prices for the options are crazy but nice to have!
That would be awesome! Definitely will be a different but cool experience going from a GT to the m340. $42k with only 20k miles sounds like a steal too (assuming the car is in good condition and has everything you want)
I agree with you man. I like this infotainment screen setup better than the newer long running across the dashboard setup. It just looks out of place a almost forgotten thought like oh yeah we forgot, ok here's a space let's put it here type of thing.
I still think Audi has a better interior. BMW is too Styrofoam happy. That said, the motors are worlds apart with the turbo lag you have to endure on the Audi S4 I test drove.
Tough choice between this and a Q50 RS for $8k less both used. I know the m340i is an overall better car but the Q50 just has a better looking exterior to me. The m340i looks like all other Bmw's, which is nice but doesn't stand out too much.
Both cars would be great options….I’m biased towards the m340, but have never driven a Q50 RS. Just have to test drive them and see what suits you best
Only things I don't like about this car is that the US doesn't get the wagon and maintenance costs compared to the Japanese competitors. I'm considering a cpo m340i if the right one comes along
I'm actually picking up the same exact vehicle and color, that's crazy lol! It was between this or a Mercedes AMG C43 in blue. I went with this because of the Supra motor! Great vlog!
Still deciding between 23 LCI m340i or the C43 but MB is out of their mind asking for over 900-1000+ a month for a 65k benz craaazy, plus that paid maintenance unlike BMW.
@@LaFlem That was finance, leasing a C300 with AMG not a C43 is taxes up front and about 800 a month. You gotta be crazy imo to be paying that much for a regular c300.
Great video❤ I am about to get one soon, but I’ve heard that you mentioned about the interior rattles, could you be a little bit more specific on which parts are making the rattles? I hate rattles so it’s good to know before I actually buy one. Thanks bro
That would be awesome if you pick one up! The rattle is extremely minor, let’s just say “normal” people who ride in or drive my car cannot hear or notice it, including when I took it to the dealer.
Yes! And I have the settings configured so when I walk away the car locks and the mirrors fold automatically (any time the car locks) There is also a button on the drivers side door next to where you adjust the mirrors to fold in the mirrors while inside the car or driving, if you need to get into a tight garage or parking spot
I haven’t had to do any maintenance out of pocket about a month ago I had this strange creaking noise whenever I turned the wheel at very slow speeds, took it into the dealer they determined that I needed a new control arm and both tie rods. It cost be $0 because of warranty and it was fixed within a day
I don’t want to know what it would have costed outside of the warranty, and I will say i was surprised that happened because my car only has 17k miles on it
Yes it is an amazing daily, you should check out my first video I go into a bit more detail about the car. A quick summary though, it gets really good gas mileage (when not driving crazy), when you do want to have fun it’s fast well balanced and a joy to drive. It has good trunk space, rides smooth and really no complaints. To me it is the perfect daily. I have had 0 problems with the car other than an annoying rattle on the interior. Overall it is extremely well built, trustworthy, reliable, and the funnest car I have ever experienced
Yes stock DP and exhaust for now. Probably will be a little bit before I cave on an exhaust, looking at the Dinan or Valvetronic. A catless dp would be sweet too
@@LaFlem The better flow of the downpipe, the more efficient the turbo operates. Gases are more effectively cleared from the turbine. I'd go with the high flow instead of the catless just to reduce the odor. If you choose not to upgrade the DP and still want an upgraded exhaust, I would check out the AWE non-resonated exhaust. It looks and sounds amazing.
