Tyreek Hill incident sparks concerns about Florida's new law impacting civilian police oversight

- A new state law prevents city and county governments from granting civilian panels power to investigate police conduct.
It should be civilian agencies that investigate police not themselves
Any settlements should be paid from police pensions.
Silly post.
Real post if they have to pay the settlements from their personal accounts and 401k. I bet they'll think twice about killing and kidnapping unarmed men̈ and women. Why do the city's have to pay when it's the officers abusing their police powers. Not the public
😂 how about the blacks be respectful and stop all the ridiculous crime
How many times have the people heard the tired excuse: “we investigated ourselves and found no wrongdoing.” That BS needs to stop.
@wildestthornberry3349 it was the guy who watched the video who does that ..... clear evidence .
Revoke the law, it's unconstitutional.
Unfortunately it isn’t. However, y’all can do a state constitutional amendment.
Possibly, care to cite case law supporting this?
Florida is a police state
Maybe obey the law.
Banning civilian panels from investigating police misconduct is such a Republican thing.
Yeah, we let the churches investigate themselves had that work out
JOEL OSTEEN MAKES MILLIONS!
Its not a few bad apples, the entire orchard was planted in the 19th century.
Every time police reviews themselves there isn't any action. If not civilian review the state police.
Police state when people have no say over their own public servants
😂 Black Crime Matters huh
That BS saying cops love to say that there's only a few bad cops and no cop wants a bad cop on the force if that was true they wouldn't mind stricter regulations but as we can see none of the other cops thought anything was wrong and that chief is full of it nothing in the law helps hold cops accountable
AGREE: There wouldn’t be any if you weed out the steroid tough guy types & they know who they are but won’t act let alone say 💩
There's one "bad" cop and 5 "good" cops standing around watching doing nothing.
😂blacks are never held accountable
@@williamatkins3465 5 hood cops??
Any cop that watches another cop terrorizing civilians is worse than the one that’s committing the assault.
I thought your side doesn't see color
I wish I work for an organization where if I commit a crime we get to investigate ourselves. If the police can do it why can’t we all ?
That statute is UNCONSTITUTIONAL! 😝🤪🤣👍👍🇺🇸
Floriduh is a huge police state. The swamp is rotten from the head down. Very little accountability for the police.
Independent panel is great idea, because if police investigate themselfs, we know the results, they never did anything wrong and that is disgusting.
We need independent panel with people who are not related to any officer.
What are the police hiding? EVERYTHING!
Like I have said since 13 (57 now) florida wouldn’t be so bad if it weren’t for all the floridians.
One more way thugs are getting away with crimes and abuse of power
DeSantis cant get his Fascist Police state without banning oversite.
I won't be bringing my money to your state !!!
I have no desire to go to Florida or live there. Never have never will.
Here's the State telling communities they should have no independent oversight of police who because police fear liability and always found no wrong doing by their officers. This not only results in no change it tells other officers this kind of brutality is ok!
Florida fascism is alive and well. Voting straight blue tickets and sending them all home.
Sounds like floriduh is kinda fascist....😮
Why representatives keep passing these laws? What about the law that cops don't have to tell you why their detaining you. That's outrageous.
Nobody is above the law 😊
The police are… in Florida at least.
Except blacks and Democrats
And football players
@@HikaruKatayamma absolutely nobody
De Sanches has his own, "Election Police" and does not want over sight of that.
Department of Justice needs to step in the Miami ~Dade Police are known racist and abuse black men all over Miami !
But the DOJ does nothing.. ever arrest anyone after their “ investigation”?
😂
🤣my reply is missing
@@miamiccw7359 DOJ needs to stop all the ridiculous black crime
"New calls for oversight".

You voted for them
I will never go there and spend money
I am boycotting Florida
@@stevethompson8154 u like felons?
Sorry, but I’m on both sides on this. He should’ve stopped and done what he as supposed to. But……..what they did was ridiculous!
UNIFORMED T. U. R. D. S.
They did him wrong period…😮
Tyrek in the beginning is rebuking the Officer for asking him to roll his window down ( at beginning of traffic stop) then rolls his window up and refuses to roll it back down then refuses to get out of his car then refuses to sit down on the sidewalk ( all lawful verbal orders I might add) ???? PS: Now as of yesterday Tyrek is out ( see Fox News online article) saying "he could have done things differently" end of quote !
@@danielrisk5731 He has the right to free speech which allows him to rebuke the officer.
He gave them his Identification which allowed them to complete their duty of writing him his ticket and identified who he was and what he was doing there.
At that point there is no reason why he can't wind his window up while they write the ticket.
The officer demanded he keep the window down in a power trip. He put the window back down upset by the command and then they got physical.
Long story short they will loose the court battle as they should and hopefully Tyreek dosent take his millions in revenue to another city

🤣 Black thugs matter
We can do better
Hill caused this crap
BS - maybe someday we will see one where there isn't someone instigating it. Listen to Hill "is this really happening".
I guess it’s OK not to listen to the cops
There’s a well worn set of tracks that lead to legal systems becoming irrelevant. The first step is declaring some group or another as exempt from judgement of the mechanism. 🙄 Florida cops just did that. The next step will involve someone setting up an alternative system where arbitrary judgement can be applied. 🤦 Yea, that’s just what we need.
@@David0lyle yeah, keep ignoring the black crime. 🤣
Tyreek was wrong. Be compliant and friendly when stopped. The cop was wrong. Work to de-escalate not escalate! The cop needs a few days off without pay. Tyreek needs to be taught humility and common sense.
"Humility and common sense," *aren't laws.* In fact, the opposite is true, because what people say is a protected First Amendment right. However, what _is_ illegal, are forced interrogations; searches, and seizures _without probable cause._
Posted speed limit signs aren't racist
No, but forced interrogations, illegal searches and seizures, and excessive force, are wholly unjustified by a "speeding" allegation.
Prove he was speeding.
Police did their job. Dude was driving over 100mph. Turning me republican.
Number one, "100 MPH" was never even alleged during the stop, nor was the ticket written for that. Stop spreading misinformation.
Officers Thanks for keeping US Safe, in this Dark time of Active shooters, and drivers driving erratic, Thank you For risking your Lives, I would never approach a vech with dark windows driving high speeds...Again thanks
Just need people to listen to lawful commands and keep the cameras. Do the people who visit his office lie like Tyreek did?
Explain what makes it a Lawful Command?
@@GrandMasterLynxThe officer can ask anyone step out of the vehicle for any reason. In this case, Tyreek was playing games with his windows and creating an officer safety issue. It’s pretty basic actually.
@@CN45475 Yes they can ask but they’re supposed to believe the person is harmed and dangerous to have them get out of their car not just because they asked questions
@@GrandMasterLynx The Florida Supreme Court says officers do not need a reason to ask someone to step out it’s pure discretion.
@@CN45475 there is no law that says you need roll the window all the way down and keep it there. The cop had the paperwork to write a ticket he just got upset that he wasn't getting bowed to.
Time to get cubans out now
Are they even legal?
The law brings uniformity to police investigations - they will continue to investigate themselves and consistently find no wrongdoing. FTPOSP.
Thank f de castro wtf this start looks like cuba
