Ah yea the ole fuel pump relay I had to bypass my relay on the side of the road a thousand miles from home on my 87 intruder. I wired it direct and had two wires sticking out the side of the bike that I twisted together to start the pump. Then I eventually rigged to a toggle switch and then eventually got a new relay. Hah it's all part of the adventure.
That’s what I’m talking about! “Whatever works” haha. Once lost my wiper mechanism on my car in torrential rain and had to strip my boot laces out to fix it on the side of the motorway 😂. They don’t teach this kinda thing in school. Yeah swapped out the relay and then the bike ran on 1 cylinder. Found it was a dodgy petcock tap. That’s after I stripped the carbs out twice of course 🤦🏻
Hi mate, no I never did sadly. I bought the rear end off a Harley road king to convert and had the plan to make my own boxes from fibreglass (purely because the uk market is in its infancy on baggers and incredibly hard to get stock). On this note, the road king rear fender was way too narrow for the intruders rear tyre. It would of needed cut down the centre and an extra strip welded in. In the end I sold the bike to someone who wanted to strip it and make a trike from it.

Did you ever end up doing the bagger plan for the intruder?

I think I have this exact problem right now.
