This just opened my eyes to something that could happen in part 3. What if sephiroth offers each character a chance to live in a world where their traumas never happened? The characters get tempted, considering what we saw in TOTA, but ultimately decide that acceptance is the right choice and the only way to save the world.
I been thinking this is Clouds true "7 seconds" where he has to make a decision btwn a world where Aerith/Zack is alive or the reality of them being dead. This could be something they all face now that u mention it
I think Cloud will put his memories of Sephiroth in the clear materia getting rid of Sephiroth forever.

I won't spoil it because if you haven't played it it's a plot twist for the ages, if you know you know.
I've been theorizing as to whether Part 3 will be titled Return or Reincarnation due to the themes around the game's legacy or an integration of what the story will be.

Return of Jenova to her complete form 2,000 years ago.

Return to one world (end will be a world reset w/ a new Lifestream)
