Thanks a lot for this very helpful video! For me it's the Throttle Box sound! So one could either use the T.B. on the clean channel or use the Flux Drive pedal on an overdriven amp to get more or less the same results, right?

Just wanted to say, I tried all these pedals and I bought the Throttle Box for medium-gain tones. I like the other pedals OK, but the TB does medium-gain tones as well as high-gain and is IMO more versatile than the rest. You can turn the gain down and roll back your guitar volume and get great overdrive, and then start raising levels until you get the overdrive/distortion you need.
The distortion sounds very clean

Which one would be best for the mesa mini rectifier for that heavy boost and for lead? Pretty sure I saw Andy james using the flux drive with a mini rec in a vid can't be sure though. Any help. Cheers

wow am I late on this pedal.... I just bought the new mesa boogie throttle box distortion pedal and can't wait to try it with my new E-II M-II neck thru black w/EMG 81's should be fun with the other stuff i bought. I finally bought some stuff... Should sound gr8 through my old 1972 Peavey classic 4x10 scorpions... that amp has never failed me

The Throttle box is one hell of a pedal.
But i think it has a complete built in preamp circuit. Don't quote me on it but i think you could run your guitar directly threw the pedal to the input of your fx loop and use it to bypass your normal preamp.
It reminds me of AMT preamp pedals, once you turned the drive up.
Quicksimplerecording ive got the 120watt head im running it into a marshall 2x12 stereo cab. I love it. I play in a party/bar band we play everything from 40s/50s rock, country, blues, and modern rock,pop and country. Its more versatile than people give it credit for.

Could some answer a question i have? Could the Throttle box do overdrive and a bit of crunch? i know its made for high gain, but i was just wondering.
i am wanting a dual rectifier type overdrive. how do i get that in a pedal. i think that throttle box is what i'm looking for
I have used the Throttle with an Hot Rod 3 and a 4x12. You won´t miss a Rectefire. It even has more buttom end than a Dual Rec. But the big daddys from Mesa are a bit louder ^^ and clean up more nicely.
Chappers, how does the Grid Slammer pedal hold up against a Maxon OD? I LOVE Boogie products, but the Maxon is like my mainstay, and i'm a little hesitant to replace her.

The Tone Burst fits higher gain amps aswelll. I use mine with a marshall vintage modern and it blows my mind every time

Great Demo guys. Mesa makes great, solid products. I do think they should allow their distributors sell their products for what they want and not set a strict price :-) Throttle Box for sure.

Anybody have some ideas for amp/pedal settings for the Throttle Box? I find the pedal to be a bit muddy, I'm sure it's just a settings issue. I'm running through Mesa DC-5. Thanks!
