Great views of Amtrak's Borealis throughout MN! It has been a delight to catch tbe Eastbound and Westbound trains 1340 and 1333 as they transverse central Wisconsin, often within minutes of each other. A few times we have seen them actually with one on a siding. Passenger service is great to see once again. Great video! Thanks so much for sharing!
Glad you enjoyed the video!! I happy to hear that the train is turning out to be resounding success. It would be amazing if they ended up adding another train like this along the route. Thanks for watching!
Appreciate the kind words, and great to hear you liked watching the video! This train is neat to see, and is proving to have a lot of interesting power on it. I am a big fan of the B32-8s!
I appreciate the kind words, and comment! SO much work goes into these behind the scenes so viewers like you, can get the best type of train videos out there.
They have GREAT horns on them, and add some nice variety from the normal P42s. Prior to this, I hadn't see one of them in about 10 or so years. Thanks for watching!
Great video Douglas! It’s so good to have this second train to Chicago. Especially when the Builder is hours late and won’t get me to Chicago in time to make my connection to the Lake Shore.
You got that right! It helps SO much that there is a reliable, and ON TIME train, between the two cities. Plus, it runs at a reasonable time. Thanks for watching!
I was at the SPUD during railroad days. I was told the Empire Builder and the Borealis were parked on the tracks below the concourse. I spent too much time looking at the exhibits and I missed both departures. I’ll try again next year.
They were for a short time, and it was a neat sight! I was on the TCWR locomotive for the morning shifts, and save both trains right next to each other. Thank you for watching!
Ngl, the equipment looks like stuff thats been running to Detroit for most of the past 30ish years. Nice to see them still running as the Michigan services slowly repalce them with Siemens equipment.
I've been thinking of a trip on the Borealis. I don't care what pulls it, so long as it doesn't have Venture cars. (Didn't see any in the video.) Venture cars have a really smooth ride, but the seats are miserable.
I grew up around the Wisconsin Central Railroad, and they once had a massive fleet of SD45s. They were also very friendly, and prior to the CN takeover in 2001, one could get a cab ride in the locomotive now and then. The first WC SD45 I was ever on, was WC 7500, thus the origin of my channel name, SD457500. :D

Love seeing this new passenger train and the variety of locomotives involved.
Very nice video with great views!
Thank you for sharing.

Thank you all staff.
The amount of dedication and effort put into these videos always astounds me, and I can’t wait for more

Dash-8s with Horizions are the coolest consists. It is like a vision of 90s Amtrak that was never fully realized.
Its a neat change of pace from The Empire Builder, and this train is nearly always sold out!
The chugging of a P42 revving up has to be one of my favorite sounds.
They sound GOOD when they're working hard, and revving up! Thanks for watching.
Amtrak is been part of our lives and usa.
It's been such a treat seeing the Dash 8s. The first time I saw it I was determined to catch them. 517's my personal favorite. The PERFECT K5LA.

All I have I thank you all.

Hahaha the Dash-8 audio as the 82 goes by. Cool coverage Douglas!
Shhhhhh! :p I realized I didn't had that done properly until AFTER I uploaded it. Next time! Thanks for watching!
Great footage, the drone shots are lovely.
Glad you enjoyed it; the drone shots were FUN to capture. Appreciate the kind comment!
Wow. What wonderful footage....so professional
Great video, and good to see some P32 Dash 8s in use !
Thank you for the kind words, and glad you enjoyed it! Seeing those older Dash 8s is a treat.

The Borealis is just keeping all the cool painted units haha
That is does, and it had a freshly repainted unit on it this week. Lots of neat goodies to enjoy! Thank you for watching.
Great video Douglas! Hope they'd add another train soon. That will add more trafic to photograph and to film for you ;)
That would be cool! Thank you for the kind words, and for watching.
Very nice.
Thanks for posting.
Glad you enjoyed it, and thank you for watching!
That St Paul Park Drone shot was excellent!
Glad you enjoyed it; the pace shot? That area is PERFECT for that type of capture, and it was fun to make work. Thanks for watching!
@@SD457500 Yup that pace shot
3:25 That dash 8 sure had a nice K5LA.
Great shots!! ❤😊
Thanks for watching, and glad you liked it!
"Bout time there's a dedicated passenger train between Chicago and the Twin Cities!
Agreed, and is proving to be a HUGE success so far. Hopefully, they'll add another daily train along this route. Thanks for watching!
I’m gonna truly miss Amtrak’s Hiawatha passenger train a tradition that goes back to the Milwaukee Road is now gone
The name Hiawatha still lives with trains from Chicago to Milwaukee. This is a nice addition to the Twin Cities - Chicago Route. Thanks for watching!
@ you’re welcome
They should take the hint and continue adding new trains to their network.
If these numbers hold up, I bet we'll see another one in the coming years! Thanks for watching.

hey man, good videos as always. can you make a video at saint paul yard?? would love to see another one. much love from chicago!
Great suggestion! That could work; they've got a tiny hump, and a mix of neat things to see. What aspects of the yard are you interested in seeing?
@@SD457500 i mean maybe some vintage locos or how some of their loccomotive shops work would be very cool!
Nice. I wish they'd bring rare power to the San Joaquins line (but I will say the F59PHIs are pretty cool)
It would have been nice if they repainted, one of the-8s in the original Pepsi can looks for the 50th anniversary
That would be cool; a true Heritage Unit on the rails. Thanks for watching!

I've heard to get your tickets WELL in advance. The train has been selling out on most trips, and proving to be very popular. Thanks for watching!
I have gotten many photos of this train with different units on it.... I live in Red Wing
You're in a great, and photogenic spot to capture this train each day. Thanks for watching!
So the PH7 P42's have B32 bells?
For the horn, or bells for crossing? I've noticed it's a mix depending on the unit. Thanks for watching!
Whats the reasoning behind the channel name? I am just curious
I grew up around the Wisconsin Central Railroad, and they once had a massive fleet of SD45s. I just heard that this new train line is exceeding expectations with 100K passengers already. Great News.
That it did, and in only six months of operation. The future is looking VERY bright for this train.
Lol how far has railfanning declined that i'm happy to see some GEs pulling a Scamtrak 😂
Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching! At least this train has been having a nice mix of power; keeps in fun and interesting.
