You might be true. But the only way to prevent a nuclear war where one side has them and other doesn't is for the other side acquire them too. Like it or not, paradoxically it is less likely for a nuclear state to attack another nuclear state than a non nuclear state. Unfortunately that's the way the world works. So it's long overdue Australia acquired nukes to protect ourselves. Not necessarily against China but a whole range of countries who already have nukes

    1. Why is it a problem to have submarines?
It’s not because China never said much when Australia had deals with France.
    2. Why can’t we have NUCLEAR submarines?
Obtaining nuclear weaponry/technology still counts as going nuclear. Just because you say they won’t be nuclear armed is like a person obtaining an illegal weapon and saying it’s fine because we won’t arm it.
    3. Does that mean China will target Australia?
Historically Australia have been involved in majority of the conflicts that the United States have been in. With that knowledge and accounting the current situation of foreign aggression in the South China Sea… the Australian will get themselves caught in the cross fire especially when they no longer have their no nuclear status protection. Meaning sure you can still help US but don’t go nuclear. (Short answer: it will become a possible outcome when receiving the nuclear technology)
*Fun fact that China has a nuclear no first use policy*
Meaning even if Australia has them they won’t be attacked by nuclear bombs UNLESS the US starts using them.
Basically a self defense mechanism 🤔
    4. Why is China mad at Australia?
Many factors and most of them involve foreign influences. One is the trade war, two Australia joined in on the anti China propaganda drive, three joined US in their “war games” 12 miles away from Chinese territorial waters, and other factors. Intervention of Chinese reunification of their sovereign territory. (Aka Taiwan which was annexed into China during the Qing dynasty for over 200 years… then stripped after the Japanese invasion followed by Western invasion during the Boxer rebellion)
    5. What propaganda drive? (From Question 4)
Uyghurs genocide/concentration camps/human right allegations (Which hold no concrete evidence besides fabricated testimonies that have been debunked in different sources.)
Covid 19 Origins conspiracy where Australia instigated a request for a second search in Wuhan Labs. This demand was requested after the first search where WHO came for a thorough investigation. Some speculated that this request was due to US pressure/influences.
Ofc take my interpretation as a grain of salt… do some digging into the topics I went over for validation. Make sure to challenge whatever conclusions you come up with and this way you can be sure that your position is more valid then your previous one.

      You are spot on.
In this argument the other day on a BBC video a Chinese hack had an even bigger go claiming how the Chinese Navy (the PLAN) would blow America out of the water. She said America had no real combat experience since WW2 while China had several major sea battles that they had won. The claims she made were ignorant and absurd but also showed just how badly the Chinese people are about history. So I replied back about the real facts and what the actual numbers of aircraft carriers, destroyers, submarines,.... etc. each side actually has.
The Chinese do have nuclear subs but very few compared to America. Most of their subs are conventional power and out in the open ocean where staying submerged is an enormous advantage the Americans have a numerical superiority around 5:1. The Chinese have 2 aircraft carriers to America's 11 (soon to be 12). There was an Indian commentator a few months back who was a bit over the top but he made a valid point. The Chinese military is now made up of spoilt (1 child policy) brats with no combat experience. They are great at parades and bullying smaller nations but not much else.
The other day I saw a long play interview with an American strategist who said after all the failures of nation building exercises in the middle east Biden had set America back towards its real strength which is in the oceans. The Yanks have finally woken up to how much influence peddling the Chinese have done in the Pacific and are responding. AUKUS only pushes that further and its freaking the Chinese out. Because even after the tariffs that China imposed on Australian products Australia has basically said "We don't care and we aren't falling for any more of your BS" as we waved the middle finger.

For those who don’t know. China is on a path to a much slower growth rate. That’s already started. Due to the limits of its previous growth model being reached and huge demographic problem (aging population). Their population is already shrinking and they have at least 90million empty dwellings. All this while they continue to build more and more new dwellings. It’s how they’ve tried to continue growing. I could go on. The bottom line is that they are stalling or at least slowing right down and will for a long Ike to come.
I’m not saying an economic collapse is certain anytime soon but I am saying that as things slow down they their government is having to make the people more and more nationalistic and eager for war. Their government is storing up trouble everywhere to get a reaction and to create a “foreign enemy” to rally the domestic Chinese around the flag and not focus on domestic problems.
All this will lead to an invasion of Taiwan. Whatever it costs the non ass hole countries we must help defend Taiwan.
There’s a window of a few years or decade before India is able to rival China where China will try to invade before their power falls too much relative to the west and India or Japan increasing military spending.
China in many ways is near its peak and is probably at its peak relative to the good guys.
If China was to take Taiwan the’d gain the technology of Taiwan and have open access to the pacific. We need to keep them contained.
They won’t win a conventional war when America is mobilised but they may use limited nuclear attacks in an effort to force a ceasefire on their terms when they start loosing. So it needs to be made clear to the CCP that any first use of nuclear weapons on their side will be met with the total destruction of their Eastern seaboard. If that is believed then we’ll win. If they think it’s another red line then every free society will loose.

All Asian countries hate one another while all white countries, except maybe Russia, are allies regardless of their past. And most Asian countries also idolize the whites/USA. So China should not play ball so hard. It will not play out well for its country and people and economy. China has made great progress in its development in the last 30 years. It would be a shame if they make a wrong turn and go to war. All the progress with the rest of the world and new silk road would be for nothing.

Could conflict between China and the West be avoided if the Taiwanese people, for those so inclined, were allowed to migrate on mass to Australia and possibly other countries? After all, Australia needs to grow its population for developmental reasons.
I support the One-China policy and recognise that some Taiwanese are happy to accept mainland rule while others are not. For those that are not, they should have the option of leaving Taiwan for Australia, or somewhere else, especially if that will help prevent conflict between China and the West.
The US will not defend Taiwan because it supports the One China policy which means it recognises the territory of the former as being an indivisible part of China. This means the US believes that China is not committing an act of aggression against an independent or foreign nation by asserting its authority over the island.
So, the question becomes, what chance have the Taiwanese got in a fight against its vastly larger and better armed neighbour? The outcome is obvious and so it is really a matter of saving as many lives as possible that is the real issue here. That can be achieved by allowing those who do not wish to live under the rule of the Communist Party to leave and become citizens of some other democracy, such as Australia.
Upholding Chinese sovereignty does not have to result in a massive loss of life on both sides of the Taiwan Strait in a military conflict that would also result in significant material destruction and environmental damage to both sides, and to any other nations choosing to involve themselves.
A peaceful outcome that is in line with the beliefs of the democracies of this world concerning the sanctity of human life can be achieved in a manner consistent with allowing the democratic aspirations of the Taiwanese to live on, all be it, in another country or countries who are similarly committed to the same way of life.
There does not have to be armed conflict between the West and China. There is another way to resolve the Taiwanese matter.

"China undertakes not to use or threaten to use nuclear weapons against non-nuclear-weapon States or nuclear-weapon-free zones at any time or under any circumstances."[39]

lets be frank here. You don't buy nuclear sub and not ask for nuclear bomb that comes along with it. Australia has the right to defend it self but so do any other country, that being said, China now has their bomb also aiming at the land of Australia and well as any nations that has their bomb aiming at China. The street runs both ways. But how does this get here. Australia was making so much money from trading with China. They are just a few countries that actually has a big trade surplus with China. How does the Australia media and the Morrisson government suddenly make full turn and decide China (my best and biggest customer) is my enemy? How does you kill your golden goose that lays you the golden egg? I can understand why US is not on a good term with China since China is making so much money from US.
