The actual telemetry data shows them both at 76kph min-speed through T11.. The onscreen telemetry is not 100% accurate. They were within 0.01 going into T16-17 - Perez had a slower approach with faster exit, Perez went down 0.26 in those two corners but brought back 0.20 with the faster exit. This was the biggest difference (time wise) in the entire lap. Perez may have been faster in Degner 1, but Verstappen's slightly slower approach gave him a far better exit at Degner 2 gaining him 0.20 seconds before T13 as well. F1 tempo has all of the telemetry graphs with some awesome info.
They were quite accurate. Just in different refresh rate. Which telemetry did you get 76kph from? --Edited-- I see you mentioned F1 tempo. It uses the same api source as Perez's telemetry does. You gotta zoom in on F1 tempo's display to better find those minimum speeds. As for Verstappen's telemetry (the later part) on this vid it's another story, but it's even more accurate.
Cant really compare the two telemetries, Checkos is more filtered and lagging, deflating top speeds somewhat and significantly inflating entry/apex speeds. So they probably went very close speed wise on that degna as well as spoon, we can see it by comparing distances or engine rpms that seem to have less filtering... Verstappens typical "entry over exit" bit him in T11 where Checko got most of his advantage. So yeah, beast mode absolutely! But thumbnails kinda misleading, like they all are, sigh.
How is Max slower everywhere but taking less to complete a lap? Also, Max found time at Suzaka in these 6 months, but in some corners he was slower in stead of faster. Not happy with the setup all weekend, but just wins. Probably cruising while Perez was pushing. Is the way Perez finds speed perhaps heavy on the tyres?
That front wing camera angle is awful! The T-cam is nearly perfect (especially on Kevin Magnussen's car this weekend). Why tf is F1 trying to change it on some cars?
You saw how ric fans acted all smug and want Checo out? They are so silent. But once Checo, made another mistake (hope not), those chumps will be out in force again.

I hope this performance stays with him on the European circuits too, he can do very well there. Unfortunately the race pace is still low
Seems he just lacks consistency
I hope Checo can keep up. As Albon said, the more the car develop the more it difficult it is because the car become more sensitive.
Japan is the first and biggest upgrade they brought and it worked in Checo’s favor (also Max’s for that matter), unlike last year where it went against Checo. So, it’s looking promising for him this year
@@jacksonrodrigues7533 So far so good!
It seems like Checo braked just before the 100m sign at the chicane, while max did it a bit after the sign.
Kinda feel sorry for Checo, he literally blew max out the water in that lap, but was still slower! Must be so demoralizing. Max finds his speed in settling the car and extending the straights. Not sure if Checo will ever get it.
Sorry for Checo did you hear Lewis during quali? LOL
if you slow the video down max went thru at 272. he didn’t keep the speed up but middle of the corner he was doin 272.
It’s min speed though
Middle corner speed is quite irrelevant compared to minimum speed though.
Can you do a video of Alonso's lap, please? 🙏 That was the pertect lap for the car he had, absolutoy on the limit!
Video request:
Was Stroll really down on straight line speed and how did it compare to Alonso?
Verstappen is definitely smooth and relaxed, which makes a lot of difference in the race, but Checo driving style is all fun and passion.
The way he lets the car go is a joy to watch!
Sergio finally realized he’s in the best car on the grid.
We now how it ends, everyone gets exited, Checo starts to believe in it again and for the 3rd year in a row it ends up in making mistakes
the flat out T1 and 130R is ridiculous!
130R tbh as corner hasn’t been a challenge since 2003 when they reprofiled the corner
In 2011 we hard cars taking it flat with the DRS flap open and the cars today have more downforce now
130R has been flat since 2002
@@BayernSupremacy_ Yup The Michael was the first person to take it flat in 2001, 2002 quite a few teams could take it flat and after McNish crash there they reprofiled it and it’s no longer a hard corner to take flat
Until turn 16-17, Sergio was actually on the way for P1. Nontheless a huge inprovment in his Quali pace.
How do you get that sound from???
How do u get the telemetry
Only if he drove like this every weekend including races
F1’s fastest ever in Degner 1 and T13? 😳. Are we about to see some more Checo magic?
Honestly, I've never seen Checo in a Red Bull hooked up on a track like this. It's always Max with a clear advantage. While it might not be enough for Checo to challenge Max. If he can replicate this at places like Silverstone, Barcelona, Spa, CoTA.. He will have a really strong season.
0:29 tells everything ver late breaking
Bro needs to put in this performance just for max to say that his lap could have been better 🙏
270 kmh through a corner like Degner 1 in ANY car, how did the weight of his balls not send him into the Pacific?
Great job by checo, but just look at max. Its insane how smooth he is with the steering and how late he brakes
I like how he has no pace then all of a sudden he is quite close to Max. That's neat.
I think Perez has more understeer, and more higher wing angle.
how was max consistently putting 1-2 tenths on everybody in the last chicane
Shits crazy right!?
Don't we have a better angle for Perez's car? That front wing POV is not as clear
--Edited--
I see you mentioned F1 tempo. It uses the same api source as Perez's telemetry does. You gotta zoom in on F1 tempo's display to better find those minimum speeds. As for Verstappen's telemetry (the later part) on this vid it's another story, but it's even more accurate.

Don't you get the feeling that Max's car is slower? but max brings out his magic and makes better time
Since they were in Japan it would be appropriate to replace beast mode with Super Sayian mode.
That's what I like to see from him. Not the disasterclass he was in 2023 in this race
imagine putting in a beast lap, and still not ending up above max who is better in races, this must feel terrible for perez
Perez Beast mode vs Verstappen casual driving
he is only guy left who can stop max winning
how can it be?! Checo was faster in every corner )except for Sector 1 corners), but still his time is slower
Crazy how Perez beast mode lap is still slower than a lap verstappen wasn’t happy with
So it’s not the car aftershave then?
1:48 bouncing noise
The car is not built around one driver, that's for sure.
What about Ricciardo vs Tsunoda in Q1?
Another close one!
That front wing camera angle is awful! The T-cam is nearly perfect (especially on Kevin Magnussen's car this weekend). Why tf is F1 trying to change it on some cars?
praying Spa will be dry and Max does 2 runs in Q3
good luck to Checho
You saw how ric fans acted all smug and want Checo out? They are so silent. But once Checo, made another mistake (hope not), those chumps will be out in force again.
@@m_0714 Ricciardo fans cannot talk anymore about other drivers performing bad
