Not sure if you’re trying to keep it simple but you also must mention the margins, Max is trying to make the course as straight as possible by coming within millimeters of the wall while Lewis leaves a foot and a half. Max is showing us what perfection looks like. He’s Sim racing in the real thing

Acceleration wise they'll be about the same, but top speed will suffer, and with the changes in aero they're tweak the rules to pretty much enforce inwash. The floor will be shorter as well as they're reducing the size/weight of the cars. So downforce will be much lower, drag will thankfully be less. However I expect that top speed tracks will suffer a lot. The electric power will pretty much only be used at corner exit and the cars will essentially be at top speed for half a straight.

Being close to the wall doesn't necessarily mean there is a risk. When you can control the car that well, it is just "driving close to the wall". What happened in 2021 was not because of "driving close to the wall" but by losing it in the corner. Then you will hit the wall no matter how close you are.

Yeah but from 2020 to 2021 cars they lost around 10 - 15 percent downforce which is enough to complete with current generation cars. We will see as the season goes on.

Budget cap didn’t come in until the 2021 season, so 2020, which is when they build the 2021 cars and in the off season. They had a budget of 450 million. These current cars have a 140 mil budget and limited testing time.

It really isn't, the 2021 cars were way slower than the 2020 cars due to regulation changes, on average at least 2 seconds slower. It's also 4 years of development not 7 because the 2014-2016 regulations were completely different aside from the engines
Interesting comparison, but it misses something important - track condition. The slightest variations to temperature wind etc can make a significant difference. Try to include in future videos!
A comparison between Norris vs Hamilton during the race seems an interesting idea for a video. In the race we saw how the mclaren completely destroys the mercedes through the high speed corners yet hamilton was able to nab back almost all the time that he lost in the second and the third sectors.

realistically i think the absolute most important part as to why 2024 beat 2021 is less to do with drs top speed and all to do with being able to keep if flat out in the super fast left right in sector 1, drs speed is good but its basically diminished by the tightening of turn 22 and its 30 km/h speed loss

In the 2021 cars defense, the track was new and was still very slippery as drivers would complain about the little grip they had and Lewis didn't make a perfect lap as he missed a few apexes but still very impressive from the RB20
Worth noting that the Engines since 2022 are using E10 fuel and most likely lost power compared to 2021, despite everybodys best effort to regain that power for 2022.

You need to remember that they opened up the exit of the last corner as well, so 2022 forwards that's at least a tenth gained there.
