Thankyou very much for this. It's absolutely brilliant, so clearly demonstrated, and has solved a big question I've had ever since I got my loom.

This is a time saving method. I was going to try to somehow make a bar heddle, but this string heddle will be easier and will do the same thing in a fraction of the time! Thank you for sharing this valuable information!

We use this technique in Algeria only with bigger looms, I’m so happy to see it, it reminds me of my childhood. Thank you

😅 yeah I was looking for a way to make a heddle bar and after I found this nice way I was, while reading the comments that say it is a good idea, I was wondering if it is the same Algerian way?! Then I saw ur comment😅 I'm proud it was used in our country😁💚

This is brilliant. I was looking for knots that would work better for the heddles on my heddle bar, but this technique is even better. This is going to save me an unbelievable amount of time. I am weaving with some rope today, so all my heddles were way too small to grab my weft.

I'm trying this technique for the first time and I also discovered that grouping the strings into groups of ten and tying them just under the twining I use to keep the warp strings in order helps me keep track of the warp strings so I'm less likely to get them out of order and can count them far easier.

    Hey Lucy!
Thanks a lot for the video. I'm making frame looms with a few of my classes in Taiwan and finding this video saved a lot of time and effort.
I was wondering if you could make a video using it because I run into some problems getting an even shed while weaving. I can still weave well enough but it is just a little more difficult.
Thank you so much for making weaving an accessible activity, even for those on a budget.

Gerard Begay made this video to demonstrate weaving on a Navajo Loom. It has a heddle system similar to the one I show here, and it might help you with learning to get an even shed. ruclips.net/video/3q1kWGMfGFs/видео.html
