If you have to sleep in the forest on the ground, insulating yourself from the ground is the most important. So laying on the blanket was probably a better idea then covering yourself. You lose a surprising amount of heat to the ground. Giving out camping tips to keep myself from thinking about the emotional harm that this series will likely cause.
Also, Black bears are really easily scared away. They tend to prefer scavenging. You stand a much better chance then you would against a brown bear (Grizzly or Kodiak ), or god forbid a Polar Bear (The will from time to time actively hunt humans)
Knew someone would have beat me to it.. adding dry leaves, grass or hay under as well would have been even better
Can't believe its the first episode and I'd already die for these boys
I'm Mexican and while I was playing this game, I knew right away there will be hate comments from Caucasian people or/and some people were gonna be offended by the political topics used in this game, but I'm so glad I could see you guys watching this without being offended... I don't know why some people takes this so seriously, when is a situation that happens, is not the first time we see this kind of situation in movies or videogames, just like slavery or other topics... I don't feel LIS is generalizing about all white people being racist.

I certainly don't feel that way. I mean, we've seen how the series has treated white people in the past, and it's far from portraying them as racist.
They reach to call this game generalizing white people. It certainly doesn't. And while the kidnapping scene is a bit overdoing it for drama. (Then again racist people have done way more brutal things before) His overall personality is realistic for a actual racist.

Holy crap, THAT"S MY HOME TOWN!!! The moment the game started and I saw the street they were walking down and The Sound in the background I got goosebumps and was all "no way, no way" then when he showed his driver's license with the 98198 zip code I totally lost it. Des Moines, WA represent! If they mention my middle or highschool i'm gonna flip. Edit: Nope, "Peacock High"... probably for the best. Still, blew my mind.

When I saw this on my notifications, I literally canceled other plans and told people something really, really important came up. It was the right call.
Calling it now, Brody is a disgraced Prescott.
He had a Utah license plate, didn't he? And Chloe's uncle Aaron lives in Salt Lake City...
He said he came from a prestigious family that had no soul and the way he stares at Acadia bay with such pained longing kinda hints at it for me

He's not, the credits say Brody's last name is Holloway, and his mother living in Utah. Nathan also could be or could not be expelled from Blackwell, depending on your choices, so the Prescott's future is likely deterministic and has no canon presence after LiS. Dontnod also really want to tell a new story. For some reason fans refuse to let go of Arcadia Bay and its old characters, but it just makes no sense to restrict Dontnod's creative talent to lazily reuse old antagonists when there are countless new fresh stories to be told.

When Sean started telling the story on the bus: First time I've cried watching a Let's Play. This is such a well crafted experience
So much I want to say about this episode. Firstly Johnny looks so broken by the end and I feel for him so badly, hope your ok. Aoife I feel will be on Square Enix watchlist for a while if they do anything to mushroom to stop her getting into the building.
They really have done an amazing job with the dad plot. I had to find out about my own dad passing from my older brother earlier this year and even at 26 my emotions went apeshit in a similar way to Daniel and watching that just brought so much back so you know what? They’ve done an amazing job with the characters so far I hope it continues
At this point, Eurogamer are the only people I trust to make enjoyable life is strange let's plays. So many other channels play the game just to make fun of it (unfunnily) or complain. Y'all are great and fun and I appreciate you!
Same! When the really emotional parts happen, I cried like hard, but when other people play it they just make fun of it, make an unrelated joke or don’t pay attention. These guys are great (: they were just as invested as I was.
Not to rain on your parade, but Jacksepticeye and JazzyGuns' let's play vid are kinda enjoyable too
Eurogamer is great (are great?), but Strange Rebel Gaming and Katie Plays Stuff are also great, and don''t make fun of LIS at least. (And don't complain either, at least no more than Johnny and Aoife do anyway.)

Max and Chloe theme song played at 2:50:16 takes me back to where i done sacrificing Chloe at my first playthrough and crying while the credit scene were roling
I love how emotionally invested they are in this.
If you had sacrificed arcadia bay Sean would've made a comment like "my life is as destroyed as that town down there" or something along those lines.
They made me care so much about this family in such a short amount of time. That's a wonderfully sobering opening.
This is my first Life is Strange experience. This thing turned the feels up to max stupid fast.
I realize you guys probably have to keep things moving for the video but you do miss out on some neat scenes/dialogue when you don't sit/chill for a little longer in those moments. For example, when you watch tv with Daniel, if you let it go just a bit longer, you get the option to tickle him.
That’s what I did those extra bits just add to the feeling of their brotherly bond

@@kasra38s when you first take Daniel into the woods and Sean is trying to motivate Daniel (after the toilets) he has the option of saying it's like Lord of the Rings or like Minecraft. If he says LotR Daniel and Sean reference those movies repeatedly while setting up camp (orcs/trolls/etc.) if he says Minecraft they reference Minecraft gameplay and creatures (Creepers/etc.) instead.

Second Daniel is a nine year old boy. when Mincraft came out he was a toodler. So better witness good game late rather than never.

So Before the Storm was a very important game to me, personally, that really impacted me on the "depression/struggling with my sexuality," level. Sean and Daniel have the same age gap - 7 years - that I have with my younger brother. That makes me worry that LiS 2 will be an emotionally devastating experience for different reasons, and that makes me a bit hesitant to play this season. I'm sure I'll play the game in the end, in spite of my fears, though. I can't really imagine missing a Life is Strange game.
I was so stoked for that party. :(

Love your life is strange videos , now every time there is a new life is strange release I not only get to look forward to that but also viewing your playthrough and see what decisions you made then compare them to my own , it actually enhances my gaming experience a great deal and I would like to thank you for it :)
It’s so weird because I’ve seen two different playthroughs and Sean either says “A cop fucked up and shot him” or “I fucked up and a cop shot him”
Such a mature and laid back commentary and judgment in all of the choices made in the playthrough.Respect man!
If you tell Daniel you wanted to protect him, he yells that he hates you and you're not his brother. I was heartbroken when he said that! :( I hoped if you promised him you wouldn't lie, he'd say he didn't mean it but he doesn't. Kind of makes me want to play though again just to not hear him say that, but I kind of want to keep my mistakes and learn from them. I certainly meant my promise and won't lie to him ever again... but oh god it's going to be difficult if I have to tell him Mushroom is dead or mom left because she didn't want him or something else tragic!
This game is just beautiful and I love it. Literally can't wait for the next episode.

In French we call them "raton laveur". That can loosely be translated as "wash rat", the word "raton" by itself meaning young rat and "laveur" meaning "who washes".

Yep, having watched Johnny and Aoife play through Life is Strange, when I saw this video come up I squealed inwardly and saved it for when I could spend an entire afternoon watching through and working on my Inktober drawing. So very glad you're in it for part 2. I can't imagine experiencing this game any other way.

Being the littlest of four, I was super kind to Daniel lol and it worked out well because I kind of knew exactly what his mindset was. He wants to be treated like he can do things, but also wants & guidance. Being the little brother myself kind of made taking care of him easier for me (: cheers to the writing team.

Hearing you guys talk about what is a long way to drive is always interesting. My brother and I commonly make 9 hour drives to visit family. I do also know people who can't stand driving for more then a couple hours.

Jillbles They really should have replaced that file with a screwdriver though. It annoyed me that there was no option to file through the cable tie when that's obviously far simpler than prying a pipe off the wall, moving a sofa out of the way, & kicking some keys off a wall.

This was such a great video. I'm a long time fan of life is strange and never got around to playing the second one, probably bc its not the same characters as the first. But I've started binging playthroughs of the series and when I got to this episode, everyone doing playthroughs of it that I could find didn't talk about how insanelyyyy heavy it is and didnt get as into it as i have. they just didn't seem to have the same opinions about it as I did, but u guys do and its so great to be able to have someone relate to my love for the series, and how impressed i am with the second one. I'll def be watching the rest of the episodes and probably be checking out other stuff with you guys too. I know this game series is ancient but its still one of my all time favorites. ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ thanks guys.

That gas station is way overpriced. I live in Oregon and my little sister lives in Washington. Most the time the station prices are okay but sometimes you'll go to a gas station and the prices are higher than a normal store. Hot dogs are usually like two for a dollar sixty-nine at most gas stations around here.
Well the owner is an asshole. I am not surprised the prices are high.
In Norway, everything is cheaper at a normal store. a normal store usually has more customers than a gas station in the middle of nowhere, so they must have high prices to make a profit. also, cars need fuel so selling foods at the gas stations is just to make extra coin.

1:00:33 just FYI it is safer to walk into traffic.... the rule is you bike with traffic (since bikes are arguably vehicles anyway) and you walk into traffic so you can see oncoming cars and can get out of the way
In America the cars are driving on the right side. Like everywere else except for GB and Japan (I just know those two).

Great first episode! Sean and Daniel are great characters! Dontnod are awesome in creating believable characters! Seeing Arcadia Bay and hearing that Max and Chloe song from LiS S1 instantly made me cry. Can't wait for next episodes!

Loved your play through of Life is Strange, this will undoubtedly be the best commentary on the game. Properly loved the first game. Been saving this for a while now. I didn't want to wait between episodes so purchased at the completion. I have two lads with a similar age gap. The first game was emotional and I have feeling this might be closer to home than that for me. Reading through the comments, I have missed a couple of moments. I needed to get the truth out and so didn't dance to Bloc Party.
Anyone else feel that 13 Reasons Why owe LIS a huge amount in art style for the title sequence and just general ambience?

Wow finally a game play that I like so far! I like the choices you made, and you even took time to see the details in the game. The only time I got anxious is when you almost chose "I will try" instead of "I promise" because it will ruin the whole vibe but in the end you choose to Promise which I loveee.
