I love rosemary and co brushes. I have a synthetic set of spotters (anna mason's)that I love very much. And, I might add are very reasonably priced. But it's so so hard to wait for them to get here. Thank you so much for your comment. I have just tried Rosemary’s red dot spotters. They are synthetic and I love them. I am going to use all the time in my videos. I’m currently pee recorded for five weeks but after that - just red dot. Brilliant

I've been painting in watercolor for three years and though I have done some detailed botanicals I primarily do loose florals with wet in wet and lots of water. I am intrigued with your paint application technique and want to learn it. Hi Helen, I am really enjoying your tutorials. I know you accentuate your pencil lines for effect when demo starting, but could you please advise on eliminating the pencil lines for the final painting please?
Hi Louise. I never remove them but if you dislike them use a putty eraser and gently roll over pencil lines. The line drawing should be really light and not sketchy so when you trace it down or if you draw it freehand, then A really light touch you only want your pencil to be your guide not an actual drawing if that makes sense

Hi. Sometimes I use watercolour paper but occasionally mixed media because I want to show that you can paint on this if you don’t have to use watercolour paper. I want to make art accessible to everybody and not everybody has high-grade watercolour paper. I just wanted to show people that it can be done. And thank you 😀
This one is a treat to look at. On the petals, does the peachy color go at the base of the petals or do these two colors mix throughout the petal? I’m a little confused about the placement... it would be great if you could clarify. Thanks🌺
Hi. It goes on the base of some since they have a more peachy tone. But not all (from memory since it was a few months ago). There’s a ref photo and line drawing where it shows the colour placement better and you den have free access to these over on our Facebook group. Link in description. But in short it’s doesn’t really matter but just keep washes light and apply in layers Letting each layer dry before applying the next

What a beautiful painting. I love it. When you first started out, it looked like you did wet on dry instead of wet on wet? I have taken botanical painting classes and we always started out with wet on wet. Let it dry and then if need be, add another layer. I am seriously thinking of signing up for your classes. I just have to decide which course I have been taking, as I belong to three Patreon classes. So to join yours, one has to go! But I have watched you several times and I like what I see. I am not happy with one class. I have a hard time understanding her and get frustrated.

@@raecampbellsstudio the reason I asked is that I could not tell if you had wet whatever you were painting before painting. And I was referring to the flower you painted. One has more control certainly with the service dried. What I do with a painting on a dry area is after I paint the area on dry paper, I have another damp brush in hand to quickly go over the edge to soften. I will be joining your class as I think you can get even me to paint better. I love working with colored pencils on beautiful adult coloring books. I do that at night while in our tv room because hubby feels alone. So I try to practice/paint in watercolor during the day.

Hi. I used mm paper for 2 reasons. I find it makes blending watercolour a breeze and also, not everyone has fine watercolour paper in their paper stash and I want to make watercolour painting accessible to everyone and show that you don’t always. Have to have ‘fancy’ paper 😀

I tried this on Arches and the blending was difficult. At the beginning of the video you were going to explain why you chose mixed media paper but you never did. Can you explain?

I tried this on Arches and the blending was difficult. At the beginning of the video you were going to explain why you chose mixed media paper but you never did. Can you explain?

We actually put it at the end of the video if you find it easier that way or you can join Patreon for free. Not sure what the issue is for the Facebook group, but we do our members to answer group rules and agree to the questions et cetera

You can buy graphite tracing paper. That may work though I’ve never tried it

Gosh I’m not sure. I think some of the brushes can be shipped to the US. I seem to remember someone on out Facebook group posting a link. I’ll have a look for it and if I find it I’ll post here

You don’t give much information about how dry or wet certain areas should be before you go back. Can you include that next time?
This video is over a year old so no not next time If you check out our later videos it’s explained in detail. We even have a video explaining the entire process of application
