I would love if Clay face was introduced because we NEED to see some super powered villains in this trilogy. We already got the super realistic grounded Batman with the dark knight trilogy. I want to see some Batman and Robin fighting characters like Clay Face, Bane, Man Bat, and Poisen Ivy in this one
@@whynot7507 Fuck no. This Batman doesn't need CGI monsters and superpowers. Let Robin for the DCU. This Batman is way too early in his career to have a Robin and be a father figure. And ti be honest having a Batman bringing an underage teenage with him never sat well with me. For fantastical Batman you already had the abysmall Snyderverse and the coming DCU, so let Reeves build his world.
@@Nevad25 lol you're pretty off my guy. Robert Pattinson said he'd love for robin to appear also Batman literally gets a robin at this exact point in the timeline. He actually gets his robin at around year 1-2 which would perfectly fit into the next movie (I love robin and researched this topic so much). Also no one really wants another overly realistic Batman movie. We want a more fantastical Batman. The Dark knight trilogy already did the realistic Batman. It seems like you're definitely in the minority for wanting another Batman with no superpowers villains. Because Allll I've seen is people explain why this Batman "Needs" to have fantastical characters. And everyone would love robin. Also the DCU is starting off with Damien Wayne and a potential full bat family. So Pattinson's Batman could quite easily work with introducing Dick Grayson first. Also we've seen far too many Batman movies with no robin. robin is a fan favorite character and my personal favorite DC character and he's been done dirty in live action just because of the Batman and Robin movie. Robin is Definitely coming soon and he will specifically be around 13-16. Pattinson said he'd refuse to do robin unless he was actually 13 which is fair because that's accurate to the character. Batman isn't such a good guy and it's great.
@@whynot7507 "lol you're pretty off my guy. Robert Pattinson said he'd love for robin to appear also Batman literally gets a robin at this exact point in the timeline. " What do I care that Pattinson said he'd love to have Robin appear ? He also said he'd love to have Condiment King as the next vilain. Matt himself doesn't seem that interested in having a Robin in his world either. When asked if Robin was going to be a part of the sequel, his response was "I don't know. Here's the thing, I have a lot of ideas about what I want to do. I'm not sure what the next story is. For me, whatever that story is going to be, it's going to take these characters, and specifically Batman's character, and put them in some kind of emotional jeopardy. So, with what you're talking about, there may be a really interesting story. There have to be emotional stakes so you get drawn into that character's story. I don't want that character to become a cipher- I don't want it to be like, okay, so we saw that it wasn't an origin tale but it was kind of his origins, and now he's just perfect. No, you need to test the character again, again and again, and for me, there might be something in that, I don't know, there's a deep dive that already happened and a deep dive that will have to happen again if we make another one and so we shall see." You can see how enthusiast he seems about this idea. It clearly was a "Yeah yeah it could be cool but it's not what I intended now leave me alone with this topic, next question" kind of response. Having a Robin takes away some of the spotlight off Batman, and in an era of movie where the vilains and other characters often takes the spotlight away from Batman, I want this trilogy to have a complete focus on Bruce Wayne/Batman and his development. We don't need Robin in this universe. There's already Catwoman that fills the role of a "partner" for Batman and in a more interesting way as they sometimes see each other on opposite sides and complement each other really well. "He actually gets his robin at around year 1-2 which would perfectly fit into the next movie" Depends on the timeline. Some say he is Batman for at least five years before he recruits Dick Grayson. For example "Dark Victory" takes place about 4 or 5 years after Bruce became Batman and that's where he recruits Dick. Personally for me anything less than five years is too short. But then again if it was for me Batman would never have had a Robin, he's more interesting working solo. By the way this Bruce Wayne is so messed up at this point in the timeline that he can't be a father figure, it makes no sense. "Also no one really wants another overly realistic Batman movie. " I do. "We want a more fantastical Batman. " I don't. "The Dark knight trilogy already did the realistic Batman." Yeah, and ? Schumasher and The Snyderverse already did fantastical Batman as well and the DCU will too, so wouldn't you say that having a realistic Batman with Reeves would balance things out ? Plus every goddamn superhero movie is filled with fantastical superpowers, magic, humor and shit so can't we just have a good, serious and grounded Batman movie focusing on good character development and the corruption surrounding the city from time to time ? Batman isn't even a superhero, he's a vigilante, a man without powers, so instead of having him fight a big pile of mud, an invincible alien or a plant talking lady, wouldn't it make more sense and be more interesting to have him fight the corruption in his city, take on the mob, fight his non fantastical villains like Joker, Black Mask, Penguin, Riddler, Scarecrow, Bane, Carmine Falcone, the corrupted officials, Salvatore Maroni, Hugo Strange, Zsasz, the Ventriloquist, Professor Pyg, Mad Hatter, Rupert Thorne, Hush, Harley Quinn, Prometheus, Calendar Man, Lady Shiva, Killer Moth, Deadshot, Deathstroke, Two-Face, Firefly, Bronze Tiger, Anarky, David Cain, Phantasm, the list goes on and on... Have him confront his own personal demons, etc..? Even Reeves isn't interested to craft a fantastical world. He said “In my view, I just feel drawn to finding the grounded version of everything,” said Reeves. “So to me, it would be a challenge in an interesting way to try and figure out how that could happen, even the idea of something like Mr. Freeze, that such a great story, right? I think there’s actually a grounded version of that story, which could be really powerful and could be really great.” He continued, “So, I love the fantastical side of Batman, but this iteration, obviously, while being, to me, I think it is very comics faithful, but I don’t think that this one is necessarily, it doesn’t lean as hard into the fantastical, I guess. But I think to me what would be interesting would be to try and unwind the fantastical and see, well, how could that make sense here? And so that’s kind of my view, how I see it.” So like I said, you already had fantastical Batman plenty of times and you will as well with the new DCU so let Reeves do his thing.
@@Nevad25 they're not going to make the whole Matt reeves Batman trilogy off a very unpopular opinion from a fan. Robin is pretty much guaranteed for the universe and the fantastical elements need to get added or it'd be pretty bland. Batman has fantastical villains. Deal with it my guy
I think a Clayface that leaned hard into horror/fantasy superpowers would be that much frightening BECAUSE the first movie was grounded. We now believe that characters are bound by rules of reality, suddenly facing a monster could be terrifying.
Absolutely. I imagine Batman's first encounter with clayface he would lose, HARD. And it would cause him to realize he needs to step up his game even more.
I agree! I totally think they can do supernatural stuff in this universe. The idea that it’s grounded and real is a true one, but I think there’s absolutely space for all the super natural stuff from the comics
@@shivangkandola8361 Court of owls will definitely be introduced since it feels like Gotham itself is shown to be something Batman has to change as Bruce.
I like the idea of clayface being a high roller actor who frequents Penguin's club, gets into debt with him, then gets his face messed up as a punishment. Leading to his addiction to the chemical cream. Then as Batman follows his crime trails, clayface is following him disguised as other people throughout the movie.
Damn. I'm more of a marvel guy but I love the idea of the villain following the hero right in plain sight. Would be perfect for clayface in the Batman 2. Good idea, fellow comic book movie fan! Lol
@@NickC_479Whats even cooler is that I think they did this for the first one, correct me if i'm wrong, with riddler. Unless i'm thinking of another movie.
I'd love to see the Court of Owls, but at the same time, I want them to save the Court of Owls for a later film where Bruce has far more experience and is on top of his game.
@@masonsantana8760It would probably be better to have them as an overarching enemy. Kind of like the league of shadows in the Nolan movies, but if they were teased in every movie, and in a grander scale. I hope he isn't as I hope they showcase more of Batman's rogue gallery. Bring out more monster villains, bring out lesser known ones like Mad Hatter, fix the trashy shoemocker versions like Mr. Freeze and Poison Ivy (Riddler was already done great in the first film and Two Face/Bane was fixed in Dark Knight Trilogy). Also, please, please, please, no more Joker as the main villain unless these movies becomes a series (maybe have Joker influence different villains behind the scenes (e.g. use The Batman origin of Clayface but only hint that it was the Joker and have him in like the fifth or sixth film).

@@Windwalker88 Found this interview from Matt Reeves. While no one has seen the finished film just yet, it’s clear from all the marketing, Matt Reeves’ take on “The Batman” sheds a lot of the silly comic book-y aspects of the character in favor of a realistic, gritty look at what drives a man to dress up as a bat to fight crime. And that’s by design, as the filmmaker is looking to keep this “grounded” with his take on the Caped Crusader, which means that there will have to be big changes, down the line, if he were to use a villain like Mr. Freeze. Speaking to Collider, it’s clear Reeves is only really interested in exploring the more “grounded” parts of Batman and leaving the more ridiculous things to the comic books. “In my view, I just feel drawn to finding the grounded version of everything,” said Reeves. “So to me, it would be a challenge in an interesting way to try and figure out how that could happen, even the idea of something like Mr. Freeze, that such a great story, right? I always thought that a Hush storyline with Clayface, Mad Hatter, and Dagget being sub villains would be a good storyline to bring the Bruce Wayne persona more into the picture.
Mr. Freeze or Clayface can be really good options for The Batman 2, if done correctly. Lotta great themes and ideas to explore from using those 2 villians as a springboard.
i would love to see the eraser play a role. he was a pretty cool b-grade villian that never got his due. a person that can "erase" all evidence of a crime is such a cool concept
@@Pat12379 bro he is literally a pencil man lmao and take that away and make him more fitting for The Batman universe he is just a basic murderer who can hide his victims well and that isn’t interesting or anything new at all. They basically kinda did that with riddler so you are just doing another mass murderer who Batman needs to find but no one knows the character this time
I think people look over the fact that the penguin exists in this universe and Matt reeves himself said he’s gunna be a big part of things moving forward and that Matt Reeves wants this to be his big crime epic story. So I think this second one may have a lot to do with what the penguin is doing as well. We will definitely know more when the Penguin show comes out so
penguin is known for hiring people to do his work for him so maybe penguin clayface and mr. freeze? the main plots being clayface wants to be normal again mr. freeze needs funding and penguin wants batman out of the picture? it's a solid motivation that's true to all of the characters
I think once they’ve done Clay Face that could open the door for more powered villains such as Poison Ivy, I think she’d fit really well in this universe but that’s probably just me.
I still remember seeing clayface in TAS for the first time, he was scary, beautifully animated, and made you fear for Batman's safety. Watching Batman get stuffed inside of clayface, and clayface pushing his face back inside his torso to smother him to death....that would be wild to see in Batman 2.
i feel like we'll get something similar to what happened in The Batman (animated show) with clay face. A normal person who was at the wrong place, wrong time turned into a monster filled with confusion and fear who then just goes insane even while attempting to get help for his condition.
If he still doesn't want to get too fantastical, I could see clayface just being a master of Disguise. Maybe using literal clay to change facial features on the fly.
@@Jays-ug9bd I think they could take a less is more approach and mix a lot of practical effects and lighting in to make Clayface intimidating. CGI villains usually suck and take me out of the movie, but I think that with good makeup and lighting we could get a decent clayface. Though if they’re gonna go for the CGI route I’d rather not see him in Live Action at all If they went for an old school horror approach like John Carpenter’s The Thing, it would rock. Not knowing who Clayface is or could be could be really, really cool.
@@scalycoronet5198 one thing ill give Marvel props for was the swamp thing creature in Werewolf By Night. It was classic 30’s Universal Monster-esque and was done great. I hope Clayface goes the same direction with being as practical as possible
Honestly i think that this batman universe is one of the only ones where i can see him fighting most, if not all of the "out there" kind of villans such as clayface, or mad hatter, or even killer croc. Bale and Afflec were great batmans but i could never imagine them fighting a lot of the different villains of batmans rouges gallary
I'm wondering how someone views Pattison's batman as more plausible in fighting more fantastical villians like clayface when Affleck's batman already resided in a world where people had fantastical powers?
I’ve been saying Scarecrow and Clayface would be the perfect villains for the sequel. Crane could even be the one whom experimented on Clayface: - One looks like a monster but is a tragic victim. Fear wouldn’t cut it, Hope would be needed. - The other looks like a weak human but it is a true monster and masters the tool Batman once relied on. Fear would be useless and there’d be no hope.
With clay faces shapeshifting abilities I feel like they can make a great murder mystery where he shapeshifting into diff ppl and Batman need to find who’s the real clayface
I think because his evil does not really relate to Batman. Usually batman villians have parts of batman's life. Riddler was also an orphan that also thinks they are saving the city but obviously evil. Black Mask without rewrites can't challenge batman as a person.
Not sure about him being the main villain. Showcasing a gang war between Black Mask and the Penguin could make for a good scene. It could be used as a way to set up Two Face actually.
Batman and Roman Sionis have a background together. Their parents both knew each other, but the reason why people are seeing him is because he was in birds of prey with Harley Quinn, which she was wasted, and but he could still be a valuable candidate for this universe because the penguins gonna take over all of Gotham, and the only Batman villains that could rival that are the ventriloquist Scarface and black mask.
@@goldenhorse4823 This is false. Roman and Bruce were childhood 'friends'. They do have a personal relationship. And the reason Black Mask hates Bruce Wayne (not Batman, mind you) in the comics was because Bruce tried to help Roman by buying out Janus Cosmetics and unknowingly got Roman kicked off from his company by the new Board of Directors. And I also disagree about Roman/Black Mask not being able to challenge Batman in Matt Reeves universe. In case you forget, Bruce Wayne in this universe is a hermit. He isnt a public figure yet in the eyes of Gotham citizens because he was more focused on being Batman. Roman could already be a well-known public figure in Gotham while Bruce is only just getting started with building up his "Bruce Wayne" persona after years of neglecting the public. Think about it. Roman Sionis challenges Bruce Wayne by day, while Black Mask challenges Batman by night. Its kinda perfect imo.
Court of owls would be a perfect storyline to explore the Bruce Wayne side as well as showcasing how far the corruption goes into gothams high society.. plus a live action talon would be a great foil for Batman while staying grounded in the mat reeves universe
When you were talking about how the film needs to explore Bruce discovering himself and separating himself from the Batman as his only personality, only two words came to me: Dick Grayson. Not just because I’m a Nightwing stan, but because his character is crucial to Bruce’s development as a person. Would be great to see in this universe. Also, I remember Reeves saying they were exploring villains like Hush for future films. I wonder if this Clayface will be a mashup with Hush - especially the more you talked about the idea of Clayface knowing Bruce personally. Would be interesting to explore
Nah, dark Batman works best without a side kick. Thats why A Serious House on Serious Earth is the best Batman comic of all. No sidekicks. Just Batman using his mind. Plus that Batman version is too young, which is great. We dont get to see young Batman much. You need more literature less visual gaming to know Batman better.
I don't think Clayface necessarily has to be super goofy. I agree that the Definitive Article Batman series has potential to explore more supernatural ideas within its tone, and while I think the iconic orange blob probably wouldn't work, a more horrific creature absolutely could. You could have a Clayface who almost always appears on-screen as a person, although able to change exactly which person he looks like at will, meaning you never feel safe as ANYBODY (even Batman or Bruce Wayne, which could be a fun way to catch him), could be Clayface. I'm imagining with the monstrous reveal having something that looks more like the creature from John Carpenter's The Thing would absolutely work as a representation of Clayface within the particular tone they're going for.
i have a theory that both clayface and scarecrow could be the villains for part 2. clayface in the real world could be based on golden age clayface, then when batman ingests scarecrows fear toxin, he then could hallucinate clayface as the morphing monster.
That could work, but I’d love to see a Clayface who looks like an actual monster even though he is the victim of a tragedy. Anyway, Scarecrow and Clayface would be perfect villains for the sequel.
Clayface would be amazing, depending with version. This works and if they add Mr. Freeze or Hugo Strange makes the villian narrative perfect. They can do all three because Dr. Hugo likes his monster men. Killer Croc can be added or even Solomon Grundy.
@@kikasshows8132 I agree, because the possibilities. He literally did Monster Men. Plus, Hugo is trying to be a hero. He wants to be Batman. There's a lot of stories that mixes those concept. In the Reeves universe would fit. Heck, Man bat wanted to cure deafness, Grundy got killed badly, Croc has a skin disease. So Hugo using them for him becoming the dark knight makes a good story. Especially, if they do the Court of Owls. They just funding Hugo for his research.
I love all of your ideas presented here. There is definitely a way that they can adapt these characters, and make it good, matching the vibe and style of The Batman while telling something new and unique. I am also IN LOVE with the idea that Harvey doesn't become Two-Face. We haven't seen a lot of what harvey's morality would look like going through the craziness that gotham goes through, because he always transforms so soon. But maybe he stays normal, and just deals with being an attorney, while things on the outside world make him have the mental battle of Two Face. Not to mention that a character like clayface, lends itself great to Harvey's dilemas, and could actually be the Two-Face in the villain sense incapsulating the moral dilemas clayface has in the comics and in the animated series. That's basically a duality and world dilema that matches Harvey's, other than the OCD with 2's.
I would absolutely love more than anything to have the more monstrous batman villains appearing (Man-Bat, Clayface, Killer Croc). I feel like all the batman films we get focuses on the more crime-like villains (Joker, Two-face, Penguin, Riddler) that It'd be a nice change of pace to see a Batman story using the more mythical like villains instead. I think the monster villains can get a bad rep for being a bit cheesy, or not realistic enough for film universes. However I think Clayface, Man-bat, and Killer Croc would make an excellent horror tone for the shows given that they're all horrific creatures that batman has to use his brain to defeat because they're superior in strength
Perhaps, that's the kind of approach that Gunn's Universe Batman will have in order to differentiate itself and fit into the greater DC Universe weirdness that Nolan and Reeves wanted to steer away from... Even the Snyderverse Batman was going to face-off against freaking Deathstroke despite bouting with Parademons, Doomsday and Steppenwolf... It's about time he fights one of his supernatural rogues in the big screen again!
I mean, Clayface and Mr. speaker Freeze had some of the best origin reimagining in BTAS so I don't get why people complain when these characters had Emmy worthy introductions.
I love the idea of clayface like in the cartoon can show the importance of Bruce Wayne. We haven’t seen much of that part of Batman showing that he has to keep up appearances when someone poses as him. It’s one of my favorite parts of the episode when people aren’t sure if Bruce Wayne would do something like that because he’s been so hands off as Bruce Wayne. Also the clayface series could be an interesting look into Hollywood for the character and how it tore him apart an interesting character study. Also I think the body horror could be so much fun to explore.
Villains I want to see in future films/shows. Hush, Clayface, Mad Hatter, Mr Freeze, Scarecrow, Poison ivy, Ras/Talia Al Ghul, Killer Croc, Hugo Strange, Professor Pyg, Black Mask, Man Bat
I think the beauty of what Matt reeves has created is a city that could “realistically” create almost any of Batman’s rogues- a Gotham that has so much potential that every fan has a different idea of a perfect next villain. I’m sure any choice might have a bit of backlash but I would love to see a serious take on characters that haven’t had much of a chance to shine in the movies
2004’s The Batman is the clay face that sticks in my mind the most, and I think that this version would fit this version pretty well A lot of the Batman 04 stuff could work well for The Batman 22, being a younger batman and all,
Clayface is also my choice for The Batman sequel villain, but here’s my pitch for how it’ll go: Now for this pitch, there will be two villains which I’ll say do have a more sci-fi angle, so it probably wouldn’t work. BUT, as stated in your video, test screenings for the first movie stated how the first Reeves movie gave off psychological horror vibes. And since there are some scary and monstrous looking villains, monster=horror. So here’s how it goes: “Recently, on the news, there’s been a line a chains for new beauty/cosmetic products spreading around Gotham. But word has been getting out that there have been murders of many high profiled business people who all are being killed for strange reasons. The people are all linked to Roland Daggett, the business owner of the beauty chains, however no proof is shown that Daggett is behind the murders. But Bruce/Batman is still suspicious that Daggett is still not telling the truth about something. In the meantime, Matt Hagen, a famed actor is just getting off the set of filming and heading back to his room, when it’s revealed that he’s hiding a dark secret when his face while handsome in the films is deformed, due to a car accident, when nobody sees. He has a supply of beauty cream that is made by Daggett's company, where it's reveal that Daggett offered him a lifetime supply of it, in exchange for being a test subject for the cream when being prepared to sell out. The cream which was made by none other than Pamela Isley made from rare plants that have the ability to form into specific shapes. Isley however has other plans, where thru Batman's detective work realizes that it was her who murdered those people through her poisoning the beauty products, specifically lipsticks. Batman begins a mission to find Isley's hideout, where we get some intense scenes when he arrives to investigate her place. But the area is filled with so many plants. Batman just so happens to touch one that it grasps him, to which we get a jump-scare and the plants attack him, causing either Batman to escape or personally meet Isley, who refers herself to Poison Ivy. Ivy's plan is revealed that she's attempting to murder all the people who deal with Daggett, including him, due to the fact that they've been destroying rare nature just to build their corrupt business which leads to Batman realizing that his theory is true about Daggett, being not who he seems. As it turns out, Daggett's business is rid with underground crime, laundering, and fraud. Daggett plans on take over many businesses, one of them being Wayne Enterprises, which Bruce/Batman doesn't realize yet. Daggett needs Hagen to join a gang to take on a hit for one of the businesses, and says if Hagen refuses he'll cut his supply off. So Hagen does so, but the hit attack goes south, and one witness recognizes Hagen, except claims that he looks like Bruce Wayne. With this information, there is a warrant out for Bruce Wayne’s arrest, forcing Bruce as Batman to flee and try to clear his name before things get out of hands. Meanwhile, Daggett has Hagen killed for what he did, as an attempt to avoid half measures. Hagen is presumably killed by being forced to swallow an entirely tank of the beauty cream formula and left for dead, only for his body to turn into clay. Hagen now has become a literal blob who can transform his shape (Imagine a live action version of Tetsuo's mutation (Akira) and Ditto (Pokemon) + the T-1000, but more scary.). Hagen swears revenge on Daggett, but when Poison Ivy hears about him, she decides to cut a deal with him, in which he helps her plan her murder several off the Gotham elites and make her plant growing spree, and she'll give him Daggett to kill. This can lead to a great showdown with some creepy imagery of Hagen (now called Clayface) and Poison Ivy's monstrous plants attacking the public, and an epic showdown with Batman fighting them. Not really too sure on how Bruce fights Ivy and her plants, but he does create special defense mechanisms for his suit in order to avoid her plants getting the best of him. The fight between Bruce and Clayface however becomes really scary as Bruce sees that Hagan can’t fully concentrate whenever he’s mutating (Leading to some imagery that gives off The Thing). But to some up in short, Batman ends up defeating both Clayface and Poison Ivy, but one of them manages to escape (More than likely Clayface), Daggett is arrested for his crimes, and Bruce Wayne’s name is cleared. There will be a mid-credit scene though, with one of the villains on the run. But they happen to meet someone in the shadowy alleyways, who says that he’s been watching them, and offers his hand to them, which is revealed to be covered in bandages.” So there you have it. Basically, this movie can pay homage to 80s monster movies, like The Thing, The Fly and Little Shop of Horrors, mixed with Batman: The Animated Series where I got these stories from. This also sort of gives a more darker take on beauty products, (Though I’m not sure how they’re gonna be able to commercialize that. Like imagine the actress for Poison Ivy saying, “Try the new L’Oréal lipstick, where love can get TOXIC.” or the actor for Clayface advertising for a CHANEL face cream, and the commercial ends saying, “And check out the new Batman movie.”.).
I would love to see Clayface in a Batman movie and then be in the suicide squad. They've been missing seeing characters we know and HAVE SEEN as the bad guy of a movie become our hero.
Yeah that was the problem with the suicide squad movies. None of them featured villians who we'd already seen in movies. That was the whole point of the comic book.
Hopes: - Clayface is the main villain with Mad Hatter acting as a secondary antagonist - Harvey Dent is introduced but he doesn’t turn into Two-Face in this film; build up his connection and friendship with Batman/Bruce
I think that because everyone knows that Harvey Dent turns into two-face, the writers could use this to their advantage. The audience already knows the end so how do we make it interesting? Something similar to the end of clone wars would come just right for this character
I always thought Killer Croc would be really interesting for this more grounded universe, especially since we've never got a live-action adaptation that shows his emotional side.
I've been screaming this since the end of the last one. This Batman is THE detective. Clayface would be the biggest challenge and I would be so hype for it.
I’d love a different take on harvey dent! Maybe him surviving an event and not becoming two-face? Like another universe. He’s such an important character as two-face and just as dent
The Batman is my favorite film of all time. I had endgame level hype for the first film. I think that clay face is a fantastic villain. His arc in the animated series is fantastic. Hope that they pull it off.😎
I think Scarecrow could be a really good villain for this Batman. We see at the end of the first movie that Bruce knows he needs to become a symbol of hope for the city rather than a symbol of fear, maybe one of the movies could have a plot about Bruce struggling to fully become that symbol of hope and Scarecrows fear toxin could expose some of the darker, more painful thoughts in Bruce’s mind that hold him back and keep him struggling. Just an idea 👍
I feel like Clayface as the villain of the second movie leads right into Mr Freeze. I fully expect to meet Victor Freis in the middle of his research into saving his wife when Batman or Bruce comes to him for the cryo bomb that will eventually take clayface down.
I just thought about something. The discussion of the Bruce stuff... it's left him wide open for getting Hush-ed. Clayface can do anything Hush can do. Riddler is exactly where he'd need to be to pull a Hush. Grant Morrison's writing for Hush: took over Wayne Enterprises while Bruce was dead because he looks just like Bruce. Clayface: can do that. Riddler: is in the proper spot to adapt Hush. Clayface steals Bruce's identity. Harvey starts going after "Bruce Wayne", becoming a threat to Batman while also working as Batman's ally.
I like the idea of there being Harvey Dent and Ethan Bennet - a story where we already know going into it that Harvey Dent is two face and expect him to turn from a good character to bad character. And Ethan, clearly a good character. Where it is revealed that Harvey has been bad pretending to be good and he turns Ethan into clayface. That’d be a cool twist, where we expect a good character to become bad but (unless you seen this video / the Batman tv show) you may not expect Ethan to turn into clayface
That billionaire take was hilarious cause of how true it is but no one’s ever really done a scarecrow justice imo but many villains fall to this as they always fall back to old cliches of their villain trope I’d love to see a clay face in plain sight acting in the open, I’ve never seen Batman as realistic imo, villains get locked for a few months and they’re out slaughtering again
You always manage to convince me with your weird ideas. I don't think the batman 2 is gonna have clayface but I really hope it's not joker. Or at least not him being the main villain.
Something I really want from this franchise is for them to fearlessly add the supernatural stuff from the Batman universe. Yes it’s a very grounded setting, but there is absolutely a way they can go down the road of the supernatural in the form of clay face, mr freeze, bane and even the Joker. I think/hope they are actually doing this, the one sign that implies they may do so is Batman injecting the green venom at the climax of the first movie
Interesting, me and some friends actually talked about who we wanted to see as the main villain in the next batman film and I also thought clayface would make for an interesting choice. The reason I want clayface to be the next major villain is because I thought he would be the most interesting in terms of "how would batman fight him". like compared to the rest of batman's rouges and how they fight, he is the most unique. characters like riddler and joker focus more on schemes & henchman to fight, with some hand to hand, bane/ra's al ghoul//deathstroke focus on hand-to-hand combat and technique, and Mr. freeze/poison ivy use science and weaponry to fight. Clayface on the other hand is a living biomass of clay that can shapeshift into any one or any object he needs to be in order to fight/escape. It would honestly be very interesting to see how batman would need to adapt and deal with an entity he wasn't trained to fight (he was taught hand to hand combat but he's facing off against living sludge), it would honestly be very interesting in terms of action
I’d love to see a scene where Batman gets freeze grenades after studying freeze’s technology and uses them desperately against an approaching clay face as he shatters and reforms.
I know people want the city frozen for Batman 2 but I think it’ll go more down a grimy muddy way, I mean look how The Batman ended. This then could introduce clay face really well and use the environment for character, fight scenes or realism. The penguin will be utilised a lot as well, I feel he will take control with everything flooded, classic penguin style. Also, what happened to Arkham? That get flooded? Maybe Clay face was already in there and he escaped? Has the Joker escaped? (I feel this won’t be the case, as I like the idea of Batman and joker having 1-1 chats now again, creating their relationship)
YES! Thank god you mentioned Ethan from the Batman! That was my favorite rendition for him, and if anything, I think what they will most likely go for if he shows up in the movie. Obviously, we have that Matt Reeves show coming out that will be about the Batman's rogues, so I hope they introduce the villain to the Batman 2 as a cameo or such, (not doing an MCU thing where you are expected to watch the shows) so that we are familiar with the villain. That way, if they do this, it won't be like the mistake Marvel made with Amazing Spider-Man 2 with Harry Osborn. We all knew Harry was Peter's friend, but me personally, I felt like they sprang him on us too fast. He didn't talk about Harry or anything, they just introduced him to make him a villain. They should have just let him stay Harry for a movie or so just to let us get the idea of him being the Goblin in our heads. Hopefully, The Batman can learn from other movies' mistakes and make something great for the fans. I'm dying to see Batman 2
Honestly of all the Batman villains I wanna see, mad hatter is at the top of my list because he’s such a cool character and would work well in this new Batman series
If I'm writing next Batman movie by using Clayface as an antagonist, here's how I would do... Basil Karlo (the Golden Age/first Clayface) was a high profile and talented actor who famously known for being "the man with thousand faces" from his outstanding performance through method actings, he's the man of dedication who went through multiple surgeries for his new role, more each and each character he plays... Karlo starting to growing an inability to separate himself out the role and adopting the personality of the characters he plays, which includes the monster that he plays in his latest movie "Clayface"
To be honest, with your mention of identity and the current state of gotham after the first film, I personally could imagine the ventriloquist coming through as some sort of psychopath who struggles with identity but idk how hed fit into the overall state of Gotham
Ive never understood wanting to so badly see complete “reality” in movies🤦🏽♂️let alone superhero movies i watch movies to watch something amazing and escape reality otherwise why even watch
One main villain that I think that should be used is Hugo Strange and his Monster Men. The monster could be Clayface, Man-Bat 🦇, Killer Croc 🐊, Orca 🐬, Werewolf 🐺, or Mr Freeze 🥶
Still have hope that we'll eventually get a live action Man-Bat. If we get a live action man made of clay, we can get a live action giant bat human hybrid. Maybe even a decent Black Mask for once. Haven't seen a great Black Mask in a long ass time and he would definitely fit the world.
I'd personally like Two-Face to pop up during the 3rd movie, and for Harvey as someone in the 2nd, perhaps like Batman 89 where Harvey was in it (although pretty short so more screen time)
i could see them doing a david cronenberg veneral x gothic horror style esc for clayface's character, the idea of clayface in matt reeve's batman brings me hints and reminders of The Fly, would love to see something like that.
i really think this universe should start to introduce more of batman’s story’s and break free from the grounded story. The batman is my favorite batman movie and i think it would fit very well in the upcoming dcu.
I think the first thing I thought of when I heard that clay face would be in Matt Reeve’s Batman was that scene in the animated series where clay face is in that room full of televisions trying to assume a form but failing and kind of switching between identities.
Mr Freeze is my number 1 most anticipated villain for one of these movies. In The Batman 1, he learned how to have more compassion for the civilians, to be a symbol of hope for the people. What happens when he encounters a villain that forces him to have compassion? What happens when Batman feels compassion for a murderer? I want to see how Batman would struggle with his rage but also his humanity, and I think a character like Robin could really represent his human side, with Mr Freeze embodying his rage and desire to get what he wants through any means necessary (for the right reasons, like saving a loved one). It would be pretty insane.
I’m probably in the minority but I’d love to see Matt Reeves’ version of Bane. A truly comic accurate Bane working with Penguin could be a good idea for the Batman 3.
I think Hush would be a really good character to make Bruce appeal more to the people of Gotham while also defeating Hush as Batman. Like imagine if Hush becomes the new Bruce Wayne and sabotages Bruce’s public image which then forces to Bruce to improve his public image as this billionaire playboy Bruce Wayne while also putting on the Bat suit to take down Hush.
The great thing about Batman is he has so many great villains that have yet to really appear in any films like clayface, hush, manbat, hugo strange. So much great material to get into
A villain that would be absolutely perfect for The Batman Part 2 is Killer Croc. At the end of the first movie Gotham gets severely flooded. A flooded Gotham is Killer Crocs paradise. Not to mention how scary and badass they could make Killer Croc in this Batman’s universe.
I want a dr freeze movie. Idk what it’s about but the idea of the first movie being that black/red color palate and the next being a white/blue frozen hellscape would go insane
How about the ventriloquist and Scarface? It’s another form of mind game just like the riddler in the first movie. Plus you grant Morrison quote was perfect for this topic.
What do you guys think about the reports of Clayface being a big part of The Batman 2? 🦇 Comment below!💥
What do I care that Pattinson said he'd love to have Robin appear ?
"He actually gets his robin at around year 1-2 which would perfectly fit into the next movie"
Depends on the timeline.
I do.
"We want a more fantastical Batman. "
I don't.
"The Dark knight trilogy already did the realistic Batman."
Yeah, and ?
I think there’s actually a grounded version of that story, which could be really powerful and could be really great.”
He continued, “So, I love the fantastical side of Batman, but this iteration, obviously, while being, to me, I think it is very comics faithful, but I don’t think that this one is necessarily, it doesn’t lean as hard into the fantastical, I guess. But I think to me what would be interesting would be to try and unwind the fantastical and see, well, how could that make sense here? And so that’s kind of my view, how I see it.”
So like I said, you already had fantastical Batman plenty of times and you will as well with the new DCU so let Reeves do his thing.

Lol

I'm wondering how someone views Pattison's batman as more plausible in fighting more fantastical villians like clayface when Affleck's batman already resided in a world where people had fantastical powers?
I’ve been saying Scarecrow and Clayface would be the perfect villains for the sequel. Crane could even be the one whom experimented on Clayface:
- One looks like a monster but is a tragic victim.
Black mask would fit perfectly in Reeves universe. I don't know why more people aren't saying him
I think because his evil does not really relate to Batman.
Hope they emphasize the horror of Clayface and other villains. He has great body horror potential.
I want the animated series version of clayface in the movies, makes a lot of sense for a detective movie to have a villain that can turn into anybody.
Agreed 👍
Yeah, I’m leaning more into Hugo’s story than freeze’s, it’s just a bit more interesting.
Hugo would fit so well in this verse
Szass, dead shot, court of owls, hush would be class
We already had a Batman movie with freeze, 2 face, and Ivy…..Remember how that worked out??
Keep it on the “realer” side!
They should just have Batman fight a literal crocodile lol.
Now, im going to watch The Batman again.
Ay, watch yourself!
Villains I want to see in future films/shows. Hush, Clayface, Mad Hatter, Mr Freeze, Scarecrow, Poison ivy, Ras/Talia Al Ghul, Killer Croc, Hugo Strange, Professor Pyg, Black Mask, Man Bat
Clayface is remarkably easy to ground as a character that changes appearance with make up and prosetics, you would have eliminate the shape shifting
Yeah but then he's just a guy 😪
That takes all the fun out of his character tho and you may aswel just use hush instead
@@celtic19 Not gonna lie, Hush seems like a good idea also.
So just Hush? I love hush but if you want hush do hush. Don't make a hush and call him a clayface
@@goldenhorse4823 clayface was like that before hush when he was first introduced
I really really love this aspect ratio, please make all your next video this way!
2004’s The Batman is the clay face that sticks in my mind the most, and I think that this version would fit this version pretty well
A lot of the Batman 04 stuff could work well for The Batman 22, being a younger batman and all,
Clayface is also my choice for The Batman sequel villain, but here’s my pitch for how it’ll go:
Now for this pitch, there will be two villains which I’ll say do have a more sci-fi angle, so it probably wouldn’t work. BUT, as stated in your video, test screenings for the first movie stated how the first Reeves movie gave off psychological horror vibes. And since there are some scary and monstrous looking villains, monster=horror. So here’s how it goes:
“Recently, on the news, there’s been a line a chains for new beauty/cosmetic products spreading around Gotham.
But they happen to meet someone in the shadowy alleyways, who says that he’s been watching them, and offers his hand to them, which is revealed to be covered in bandages.”
So there you have it.
Interesting
Hmmm that's pretty good. I just feel like this movie is too grounded in reality but a good amount of this pitch could work.
I think the Court of Owls, Calender Man, Clock King, basically those without superpowers and under used deserved to be back in the spotlight.
Im heavy on mr freeze for The Batman part 2, i feel the flooded Gotham would work perfect for a mr freeze story
I’d love to see Hugo strange in live action
I would love to see Clayface in a Batman movie and then be in the suicide squad. They've been missing seeing characters we know and HAVE SEEN as the bad guy of a movie become our hero.
Yeah that was the problem with the suicide squad movies. None of them featured villians who we'd already seen in movies. That was the whole point of the comic book.
Hopes:
- Clayface is the main villain with Mad Hatter acting as a secondary antagonist
- Harvey Dent is introduced but he doesn’t turn into Two-Face in this film; build up his connection and friendship with Batman/Bruce
I think that because everyone knows that Harvey Dent turns into two-face, the writers could use this to their advantage. The audience already knows the end so how do we make it interesting?
Something similar to the end of clone wars would come just right for this character
Clayface is based
wtf does "based" mean???
I always thought Killer Croc would be really interesting for this more grounded universe, especially since we've never got a live-action adaptation that shows his emotional side.
Killer croc and man bat are two characters that need to a chance in this new universe.
I was looking forward to Professor Pyg and Toy Man. Something different. Clayface is a good idea but idk if that fits in a grounded world.
There have been multiple takes on clay face that have been very different from each other so a reimagining could be interesting
Or at least not him being the main villain.
they teased joker and it seems too soon to have in in a sequel, at least the final movie.
It would honestly be very interesting to see how batman would need to adapt and deal with an entity he wasn't trained to fight (he was taught hand to hand combat but he's facing off against living sludge), it would honestly be very interesting in terms of action
i think a clayface mr freeze duo would be interesting
the city is flooded at the end of the last film
not sure where clayface fits in there
I’d love to see a scene where Batman gets freeze grenades after studying freeze’s technology and uses them desperately against an approaching clay face as he shatters and reforms.
Clayface would be so dope! Honestly though I don't really care which villain(s) Matt Reeves chooses because I know it's gonna be freaking awesome
Karlo starting to growing an inability to separate himself out the role and adopting the personality of the characters he plays, which includes the monster that he plays in his latest movie "Clayface"
the original ''clayface'' is by far the worst version.
To be honest, with your mention of identity and the current state of gotham after the first film, I personally could imagine the ventriloquist coming through as some sort of psychopath who struggles with identity but idk how hed fit into the overall state of Gotham
The best choices: Scarecrow, Hush and Mr. Freeze
I love scarecrow but i think if he gonna be the next villain, it just gonna retell the same theme as the first one
The first film pretty much already did Hush
@@RamChop451 how?
i don’t wanna see scarecrow again. i would LOVE to see mr freeze portrayed how he was in the animated series on the big screen
not saying the film will be bad of hush is the main villain, but i’d pretty much rather see anyone else
Ive never understood wanting to so badly see complete “reality” in movies🤦🏽♂️let alone superhero movies i watch movies to watch something amazing and escape reality otherwise why even watch
I would LOVE Man-Bat to be a villain, or killer croc. For more grounded villains, I think Professor Pyg fits PERFECTLY in the reeves universe.
One main villain that I think that should be used is Hugo Strange and his Monster Men. The monster could be Clayface, Man-Bat 🦇, Killer Croc 🐊, Orca 🐬, Werewolf 🐺, or Mr Freeze 🥶
And because he created these monsters, it could make a part of Gotham City into Monster Town.
He’d be a perfect villain to be in charge of Arkham Asylum and continue that storyline involving Bruce’s mother.
@@jrr2480 screw your mainstream villains I want to see the eraser in live action 💯🗣🗣🗣
@@geraldcleveland6207 🤨🙄
The concept of a theme of a struggle with identity could also work very well for hush
Still have hope that we'll eventually get a live action Man-Bat. If we get a live action man made of clay, we can get a live action giant bat human hybrid. Maybe even a decent Black Mask for once. Haven't seen a great Black Mask in a long ass time and he would definitely fit the world.
We actually got a pretty good live action Black Mask adaptation. Unfortunately its in the CW Batwoman show...
the thumbnail for this video is nuts
I'd personally like Two-Face to pop up during the 3rd movie, and for Harvey as someone in the 2nd, perhaps like Batman 89 where Harvey was in it (although pretty short so more screen time)
I agree. Especially if they're going to establish a relationship between Harvey and Bruce.
The universe of The Batman is too realistic, Calendar Man as a serial killer works better.
Any of those weird killers like the mad hatter or professor pig would be cool. I like the grounded take.
i could see them doing a david cronenberg veneral x gothic horror style esc for clayface's character, the idea of clayface in matt reeve's batman brings me hints and reminders of The Fly, would love to see something like that.
i really think this universe should start to introduce more of batman’s story’s and break free from the grounded story. The batman is my favorite batman movie and i think it would fit very well in the upcoming dcu.
I know that we have already seen him Batman Begins, but I would love a movie focused on the Scarecrow as a villain
I think it would be cool if they completed changed how Clayface worked, and really leaned into body horror
Wouldn’t be Clayface then.
Man, I can just imagine the story just based on what you talked about, and it looks amazing. This was an amazing video, too
I think Gotham being flooded is a great opportunity for Killer Croc to make his first appearance
I also like what BTAS did with Harvey Dent and Bruce being childhood friends.
Gimme Clayface, Mr Freeze, Mad Hatter, Scarecrow, any of those guys as The Batman villains. Gimme Professor Pyg. There’s so many great options
Your going to love my Live Action fan-made TV Series "Spider-Man: Alone" !! Season One will feature Chameleon as the antagonist.
Idk what it’s about but the idea of the first movie being that black/red color palate and the next being a white/blue frozen hellscape would go insane
clayface finally getting some screentime would be good, I also thing proffesor pyg could work reallyy well especially in a more gritty batman world
I can definitely see zsasz fitting perfectly into their world of Batman
Court of Owls is the best fit for this take. Clay face is too fantastical.
Clayface could be cool as they could have multiple actors playing them. Multiple faces for one person
How about the ventriloquist and Scarface? It’s another form of mind game just like the riddler in the first movie. Plus you grant Morrison quote was perfect for this topic.
